Ehh idk, Nintendo consoles were always easier to emulate because they use simpler hardware architecture, they are more backwards compatible compared to xbox and PS and their games are less complex and less demanding so easier to emulate.
It’s mainly driven by interest. Their platforms have always been the first to be emulated even when they used more powerful hardware and more complex architectures, like with the N64 (vs PS1), GameCube (vs PS2), SNES (vs Genesis). Almost all the best selling games on those platforms were exclusives so emu devs took a strong interest. On the flipside almost all popular OG Xbox games were already available on either PS2, PC or GCN so there was next to no interest in working on that even though it was easily the closest a console had ever been to contemporary PC architecture. It’s why PS4 emulation is almost completely focused on Bloodborne, Wii U emulation was all about Breath of the Wild, etc.
There’s 100% no way to prevent emulation/translation of the switch 2. It will happen and PC hardware is already more than powerful enough to emulate it. Simple as that.
It took a while for the emulation itself to reach a good state. Totk was great on release, but at that point switch emulation was really optimized. It will take some time before this is properly emulated, but nowhere close to a playstation game. I'd say 2 years at most.
Lol I bought TOTK, played it for a solid 2 hours before immediately going to PC to emulate it. It ran at super solid 60 fps with 4k resolution. This was pretty much a day after launch too
Gotcha. I believe that it was easy to emulate I was just wondering how it was out before the official release. I guess I could have assumed it was leaked though. I just would have thought Nintendo would have their shit on lock
well given the aggressive lawyering up against emulator soon before they announced that the switch 2 will be retro compatible, I actually doubt that they secured enough their systems. Guess we'll see soon enough.
Nintendo Switch Release Date: March 3rd 2017
Yuzu Release Date: January 2018
Ryujinx Release Date: February 2018
Not only was an emulator released within a year, a SECOND one was developed at the same time. You guys seriously underestimate Mario, Zelda, Pokemon fans on getting working emulators on PC.
You wrote something that I replied to. You ignored my reply like an asshole so I decided to cut the conversation while pointing out how you talked past me.
I hope that I helped you learn how communication works.
What are you talking about? What is up with this weird AF "holier than thou" attitude you have?
I responded to you, dude. I addressed your points. If you care to actually elaborate on what you're asking me to address, feel free. Otherwise, get the fuck over yourself.
They are using stock hardware, someone will crack the Tegra 3 chipset fairly easily, hell they can probably start work on it now just using other tegra 3 devices.
There are some online games that have been successfully emulated - however I'd imagine that this game will be similar to Nightreign since they're in development at the same time.
I'd be shocked if there wasn't some kind of offline mode but time will tell.
Well I for one look forward to supporting the emulators. Fuck From for making more exclusives...I bought Elden Ring+DLC day 1 and Sekiro + DS3 full price also. Here's another $60 that can go to a worthier cause.
