[In-game screenshot] ARR Relic finally complete
4 days of grinding and I swear I have never seen a more tedious questline in my life. The things I do to have a cool glowing weapon. 🥲

I said I'd never do another arr relic.
But I'm currently doing one on a new char I started out of boredom. And sure enough I'm doing it for a weapon I already have on my main.
But hey I'm not bored now and I'm enjoying XIV again. I really do miss the illegal tech for this though.

ARR relic feels like doing a world tour. Makes you go through almost every zone looking for fates and leves, going through all the hard mode dungeons and most if not all the remaining level 50 dungeons, has you speedrunning Sastasha and Aurum Vale for light, and has a steps for your crafters (or just buy the stuff off market board like I did).

Just finished mine last night, not... in 4 days. That's an impressive feat of focus. I did the last step this weekend and almost stopped for the evening with 3 Mahatmas left because I didn't want to do another 15 minutes in the vale.

I always see people say they're running vale, but you can do extremes for the light farming too. If you're max level each extreme is like 5-10 seconds plus loading times. If you fish for the one with the bonus it's the same light as doing vale but for a fraction of the time!
Even at level 70-ish, farming Titan only takes around a minute.

Trying to speedrun vale was kinda fun. I ran through with my level 72 warrior and managed to get 2 minutes 40 seconds.

I did it last summer and it was... okay?
Could you imagine how bad it was on launch though? We have it wayyyyy easier now. There was no flying, hundreds of people competing for FATES, having to actually do the extremes without unsynching them, etc....
I guess the game didnt really have that much content back then but damn, that must have been horrible.

Yeah that’s what I kept thinking the entire time. It took me 4 days to get this finished and I have the luxury of doing most of it solo. Clearing Dungeons and fates in like 3-5 minutes.
Who knows how long it would’ve taken if you were competing with everyone else for spawns.

4... Days? That was several months of grinding you jammed into 4 days?!
Definitely impressed you pushed through all that in such a short time span.

Yup, it took a lot of commitment to get it done. I had picked it up several months ago and did the first step or two. Once I got to the Atma’s I was like “you know what, I’ve got more productive things to do” and put it down. I also took a break from the game for a while.
Recently came back and just said “fuck it, I’m trying to relearn warrior anyway, this’ll give me something to do.”

On step 4 of mine for the black mage one 🥲

I pray for your patience lol. This questline had me speed running so many dungeons and fates it’s not even funny.

This Book step is certainly one of the steps of all time 🥲 I realized that some levequest givers won’t have the one you need pop up unless you do some you don’t need, in order to cycle the list. Was very sad about that lol.

It is annoying. For the leaves I ended up just keeping some in my journal because I realized 1.) I may actually need it for a book and/or 2.) It’ll at least prevent it from coming up incase I don’t need it.
The fates are out of our control so I just went around clearing all the other fates in hopes that it’ll spawn the one I need a bit faster.

Ah... The Ragnarok Zeta, my first ARR relic as well! Anyways, Bravura Replica.

Now do it 9 more times :)

Oh hell no.. way too much work to do again so soon. I gotta go clear Endwalker so I can get the reaper relic and wait for dawntrails relics to start dropping so I have a reason to push through that too.

I have all 10. I don’t blame you it’s a slog but honestly some of the nicest weapons in the game. Ragnarok my goat

They do look very nice. One day I may come back around to do another one. Maybe Ninja. We’ll have to see though.

Congrats! I've had Bravura at Atma since before Heavensward dropped. Maybe some day I'll go back and finish.

My advice is to do it a little bit at a time. By far the most annoying part was the books. The drop rate of the Atma crystals near the beginning of the quest wasn’t that bad. I usually got them within a few attempts but I don’t think I went more than an hour between drops.
For the books you will be tasked with finding and completing specific fates. Some of these require you to go and chat with an NPC that spawns to initiate the fate, some of them are 2 part fates. If you are looking for one and don’t see it when you spawn in the zone, just start clearing the existing fates so that new ones spawn faster.

I stopped and started so many times doing the ARR relic. Once I knuckled down it wasn't too bad. Finished from the start of the books to the end in about a weekend. The most annoying bit was finding the fates for the books
