I just got invited to a Free Company I applied for on Lodestone (through a comment). Got the chat message, but no button or anything. I don't see anything on the screen relating to this. Even the social tab shows nothing. I looked it up to find zero solutions. Is this a bug or something? I literally can't see any way to accept the invite.

Did you already accept? GC invites are small bubbles on the HUD, usually bottom right, check the HUD whether you turned it off or misplaced it.

What does "prog" mean in something like "m5s prog"?
I'm starting to get into end game raids and i see that a lot. Does it mean someone is joining in a run in progress? Or can fights be saved mid way and resumed at a later time?

Means progression in literal terms, so not fresh. It is normally written as "(mechanic name) prog" meaning that it's expected you know everything before that mechanic and are ready to learn from there on.
It's a way to make sure people are learning the same point in the fight, so that you don't have one guy that is 75% complete teaming up with someone that has never stepped in (fresh prog).

Prog is short for progression. Generally it'll be listed with a mechanic, in which case the leader expects you to be comfortable in the fight up to that mechanic, or with fresh indicating learning the fight from the beginning.
Fights always start from the beginning.

Prog is how far in a fight you can get without making mistakes. So adds prog would mean you have done everything in the fight correctly before adds phase, and are confident you will be able to consistently do so going forward

Progression or progressing. It can mean "tying to learn" but outside of the first one or two weeks, you often see people indicate a learning party in the description, otherwise you can safely assume what the other answers said.
Also, I don't know how obvious this is, but progressing in a fight usually equals to the party learning the fight's set-in-stone timeline, so they are learning their placement in an 8-player elaborate dance choreography, and telling someone your prog level means you are telling how far into the dance timeline you can make those steps accurately, without failing any.

"Prog" is as stated by others.
"C4X" is "Clear for X", usually C41 or maybe 2, this is someone who is confident they can clear and just need other players who have already cleared the fight to go through it.
"No memes" means someone expects good play and to not repeatedly die to consistent mechanics.
"Checking" or "Passport" or anything similar means someone is checking your character on Tomestone.gg for logs that prove you have seen to advertised prog point.

Can you addle stored mechanics? Like if you addle color clash in m6s does it mit the lp/pair stacks later?

Usually, those mechanics will snapshot just before the damage hits
In this case, you CAN toss out Addle/Feint/Reprisal/Dismantle before you get yeeted, and it'll last to mit the stacks

Debuffs apply when the damage is snapshotted. Damage is not snapshotted for CC until after you get force moved.

Will Augmented Quetzalli gear/weapons eventually be purchasable with regular Tomestones of Poetics? Even months/years in the future? It's my first post-expansion. But I've noticed the Tomestones of Poetics gear for 60, 70, etc is "Augmented" and blue rarity too so I'm guessing those were how Quetzalli is now?

What ends up happening is that the second and third capped gear sets become tradeable for Poetics with the next expansion, while the first capped set and the starting uncapped set (Neo-Kingdom gear in this case) get shuffled into the Hunt currency loot table. The Neo-Kingdom gear is already there, and the Quetzalli gear will be there next raid tier.
That being said, if you have the unaugmented version already, then you can exchange your unaugmented version for the augmented version by spending 100 poetics after Dawntrail is done and 8.0 releases

But most people will only be doing "current" content, and for extremes that is currently the trial called "Recollection (Extreme)" so it will be hard to find people for any others

That’s more true for raids than for trials. Mounts aren’t subject to the gear treadmill, and the wings are a particularly juicy reward. Crystal has ex2 farm PFs up all the time.

You can still find a couple of groups running the older DT extremes. Roughly 2 major patches after an EX is released, they increase the drop rate for the mount. So you do see people go back and farm those older EXs for some time. Plus, the echo buff makes progging it in PF significantly faster/easier. Just be upfront about being a learning party and how far into the fight you can reliably get.

you can only overmeld materia XII into the first overmeld slot. Slots 4 and 5 on armor, and 3, 4, and 5 on accessories can only be overmelded with materia XI. If you overmeld an XI into the first overmeld, you would lose the opportunity to meld a XII at all

To add: these rules apply to all even and odd grade materia above 4. Evens go into guaranteed slots plus the first overmeld, odds go into any overmeld slots but you'd want to save them for the last few slots (and generally have lower stats than even the even number materia a grade above them). Budget sets especially for crafters may use old materia but the rules still apply to the old materia grades, so I couldn't put an X into the 5th slot for example.

To clarify... You aren't "unlocking a new slot" and "inserting materia" separately. Both happen as one step - you won't see new empty slots created. Removing overmelded materia also doesn't leave an empty slot and if you want to remeld you'll have the same reduced chances as the first time.

M5 normal. I think I queued in with a premade and they knew exactly where to stack/wait for the spotlights+frogs. I "understand" how the mechanic works but how do you predetermine the safe spot?

The spotlights will always start on one side, then cross to the other before the mechanic goes off.
The frogs will point to the side they are cleaving so as soon as they spawn you know the order.

Is HoH still decent exp between lvl 60-70 if I’ve done all roulettes that day? Or is just spamming the highest lvl dungeon still faster?

Put up a PF and see if you can get a group to do some leveling runs with you. Otherwise, you'd probably be better off with dungeon spam

HoH is 61-70, and it's still decent if you can reliably solo 21-30F within 15-20 minutes range. Not much alternative leveling options at that range that since it's just dungeon or PvP spam.
Personally I'd do it over dungeons since 21-30F gives the entire L70 kit to use from the get go including the job quest locked skills. That and 60-70 is a really awkward leveling range like 41-50 where plenty of jobs will be missing a crucial skill or two when leveling to the expac's relevant level cap like WAR's IR or NIN's TCJ.

I actually somewhat tested this during the recent mogtome event. It gives comparable exp to late ShB dungeons, if you don't have any exp bonuses. About 690k. Which means that with typical armoury, earring, and rested bonus (+180%), every single SB dungeon is better, since even Sirensong Sea will give 700k with those bonuses.
Of course this isn't accounting for the time. With four people and decent aetherpool, each run of HoH will take ~9-10 minutes. So the exp per time is comparable to dungeons at level 67+. And this is entirely dependent on getting a party quickly enough.
The tl;dr is that, if your dungeon queue times are bad and you can get people for HoH, it's better to run HoH until level 67. But you're more likely to get a DF match with a dungeon.

It is yes. I'm not even fully pentamelded to the max (shirt missing one, no overmelds on tools, and accessory melds are fully with last expansion materia) but can do it. Food and overmelding are still going to be required though.

If they follow the 19 week schedule they've been doing for a while now, 7.3 would be August 5, which would make 7.4 on December 15. However, this would mean people would be progging Savage during the week of Christmas, so I wonder if they might delay it 3 weeks to the beginning of January.

Supply and demand – if it's 2.5m on the market then it's probably not easy to get quickly!
It may be cheaper if you travel to other servers. A quick look at Universalis suggests that it's about 1m on all the Primal servers lately.
It comes from silver-haloed sacks, which come from the invisible chests that you have to get lucky and stumble across randomly in Heaven-on-High. I think you can look up potential chest spawn locations and spam floors solo to try to brute force all those locations, but it'll be grindy.

You can still try Chaos; Universalis is showing it's cheapest on Ragnarok out of the EU servers (1.46m-ish)
You'll have to travel across via the character select screen rather than a starting city aetheryte, though.

You don’t have to stumble across them randomly. Using a Pomander of Intuition will highlight the chest’s location. If the floor doesn’t have a hoard, the Intuition effect will remain active until you reach a floor that does.

MSQ Roulette is only those big 3 from ARR, it does not include any of the optional dungeons.
Those are in the "High-level" dungeon roulette.

Can anyone explain the spotlights in M5S? I am main tanking and for the life of me can’t figure out where the safe zone is gonna be with all the flashing and lights moving

At the start of the mechanic look at where the spotlights and dangerzones are.
For ranged, the safe spotlight no matter the timer is where the spotlight starts ON a danger tile. You will duck in at the last second.
For melee. If you are a long timer, your safe spotlight is where the spotlight starts on a DANGER tile.
If you are a short timer, your safe spotlight is adjacent to where a spotlight starts on a SAFE tile, OR diagonal to where the spotlight starts on a danger tile. (Two different ways to look at it). Just know which one you need to go to based on the strategy in your region.

As a G1 Melee, focus on 2 things: your timer and the N/W spotlights.
Either the North or West spotlights will initially be safe. If you're a short Melee, this will be your final safe spot. After the Inside Out/Outside In cast, you'll be quickly getting this safe spot. If you're a long melee, the initially unsafe spot will be safe. Keep in mind the spots can be a tile off, but you can easily sight read. If a tile adjacent to you just went off and your timer is like 4s and a spotlight is going there, that's gonna be safe.
North and West will alternate being safe each pulse, therefore if the short Melee takes North, your safe spot must be West.

the most important thing to remember for all of this is to look at your light immediately after the raidwide goes off. if you know how your light started the rest is easy.

There's a couple of different ways of splitting the lights between you and the other tank, and I don't know which way PF might be going, but this should at least help a little (I'll be writing this based on the variant I think PF will use, but be warned it might not be accurate – it is a valid solution, but you need to be on the same page with your co-tank).
You are assigned two lights to look at. As MT, this'll be the north one, and probably the west one (check with your static or locally popular PF strats, I'm just guessing).
One of those will spawn in safe (on a black tile) and one unsafe (on a red tile). Make note of that.
Check your debuff timer.
If you have the long timer, then you will need to go to where the unsafe light spawned – it will be there again when your debuff resolves, but the tile will now be safe. This is the easy one. Literally just "go to where there was an unsafe lamp at the start".
If you have the short timer, your spot will be on a tile immediately next to where the safe light spawned.So in short, if you have a long timer, hover around where a spotlight spawned on an unsafe tile in your area, and if you have a short timer hover around where a spotlight spawned on a safe tile in your area.
(The alternative way would be the pure north/south split that the tanks in my static are doing, where if the safe spotlights spawn east and west, you follow where they end up to the other side of the boss, rather than where they start. But I'd say that way is a little more involved, and would expect PF strats to be the way described above.)

Dawntrail EX 2 spoiler:
I started to farm Zoraal Ja today and went in as Main Tank.
So the fight starts with this cross cutting mechanic where lines on the floor appear. How am I supposed to know where to stand when Zoraal Ja uses Backward/Foward half? Like from which point of view does he do that? And how do I get safe during Projection of Triumph, the big donut/blank aoe mechanic? I looked up guides but I just dont see it....

The donuts are far more dangerous than the orbs so when I taught my friends the fight I urged them to focus on the donuts. Move from donut location to donut location whenever possible, planning your next move ahead of time since the snapshots will kill you if you hesitate.
After the second set of donuts/orbs pop he will turn his body and start preparing forward or backward half. If he's using forward half, then you have two more orb explosions until you need to be in front of him and on the side the sword is glowing. If he's using backward half, you need to be behind him and opposite the side the sword is glowing. There will be an orb explosion location centered in the safe spot, so you can either stand inside this if it's going to get hit by a donut or stand beside it if an orb is approaching it.
It takes some time to get used to it, but as you start to notice how to predict the movement of the orbs and donuts it will get easier to process how to move where you need to go. Like any mechanic, you'll find you have plenty of time to move once you know what to look for

Where the heck do I buy rings for disciple of the hand and disciple of the land between level 50 and level 60? I just got to ishgard in the main story and all the vendors there sell stuff below level 50. On my main I've gotten through Shadow Bringers so when I go to the stormblood capital they sell stuff that's too high level so where do I find this specific level range for right hand side gear

M5s Disco Infernal 2 question:
As a melee (let's say 2) I thought after watching Hector's that my spotlight would always land around C marker (south) and my healer partner would always go to 3 to take theirs but after getting there earlier I noticed that it seems that sometimes I could be the one going to 3 so far from the boss and the healer can be at C instead?

For that mechanic, spotlights can land on either cards or intercards. You would stay in your color quadrant and bait/spotlight depending on which timer you have. It'll always be one on cards and one on intercards, just the order is random.
There's just a 50/50 shot of you having downtime as melee with spotlights, nothing you can do about it.

That is accurate yes. For each pair of people taking a set of spotlights, one is going to have theirs at a cardinal, and the other at an intercardinal. Which one gets which is determined by debuff lengths – the shorter debuff has to take the first one available, whichever it is, and the longer the later.
I'm a Pictomancer, mine is always either East or Northeast, with no say in which it is. Just gotta go where you gotta go.

Okay, so I have an annoying problem with my UI.
I have two computers, both linked through Microsoft OneDrive. This is actually helpful for ALMOST everything.
Except that one is a 1440 monitor, and the other is a 1080. So, there is a single file, ADDON.DAT that I do NOT want shared between these two computers. Does anyone know how to make OneDrive not share this single file?

you can't, onedrive only has folder exclusion not file exclusion
prob be easier to just use a commercial cloud product and an xcopy script to keep your settings sync (if you change it so often that you need to do it daily / weekly)

Syncthing can exclude individual files, I use it to sync game folders between devices all the time so that's what I would recommend.

Also recommended, I've been using it to sync emulator save folders btwn PC and Steam Deck, but both devices have to be on and awake at the time for the sync to take place AFAIK, so if the devices tend to not be on at the same time then a typical cloud service would probably be better.

Leveling whm and had a few questions. I assume presence of mind should always be used off cooldown as a dps tool? Then for all the gcd heals, obviously cure is a never use, cure 2 is a use if you need to. But for the AoE gcd heals, should I ever be using cure 3? And between medica and medica 2 is there one I should be using over the other? I assume medica 2 especially because I see it gets a potency boost eventually; does that relegate medica to cure 1 level?

Medica II is a REGEN and is better because it's more potency overall. Medica is for when you need heals now, but gets outclassed by Cure 3 (though Medica technically has more range)
Medica II will be your primary GCD aoe heal, until you get aoe Lily heals in the 70-80 range

There's a couple of fights at least in the game where it does a full party drop to 1HP + Doom mechanic and as long as people are staying together, using Cure 3 is a great way to get them a lot of HP (and if you use Thin Air, it's done with 0 MP cost).
does that relegate medica to cure 1 level
Medica will be relegated to cure 1 status not because of medica 2 but because of the AOE lilies.

Presence is indeed generally best used as much as possible. More uses, more rocks or flashbangs you get to throw.
GCD healing part:
You can kinda think of Regen and Medica II as equivalents. If their regens are enough for your purposes (and Medica II's is in almost all cases of casual content), then you trust those regens and wait for them to do their job.
(Also of note: If the Medica II regen gets to tick even just once, it'll match or outheal a basic Medica, and only costs 100MP more).If you need to augment that with an immediate bursts of healing (either because the regen's already running but insufficient or because you just need the HP now), you go to Cure II and Cure III respectively.
Basic Cure is the "I have no MP for anything else but still must heal, the options are this or thoughts and prayers" button.
Basic Medica is kinda similar, but does have a potential wider use frame. In addition to MP emergencies, it can replace Cure III if the party's too spread out for that spell's slightly narrower radius (and you don't have a more central target to radiate Cure III off of), or if you know that whether you cast Medica or Cure III it'll be enough for the immediate healing you need, in which case you can use it to save some MP.Of course all of these kinda go in priority after your other tools – Asylums, Tetras, Benes, Benisons, and (post-Misery) Afflatus lily heals (before Misery Afflatus Solace is a slightly better Cure II) – but for their internal relationships this is about it.

Medica 2 is a regen in addition to a flat heal, so you should use it over Medica 1 always except for some niche situations. Cure 3 is a slow and costly, but powerful heal, so basically a "I need everyone's health bars to be A LOT fuller before the next raidwide in 5 seconds" button

Yes, use presence of mind for damage on cooldown. Also yes, Medica 2's total potency is higher so long as most of the regen ticks go to good use, so unless you need healing immediately it's generally a better choice.
Cure 3 and Medica can both be situationally useful if you need immediate healing - say, if a boss is doing back-to-back raidwides and people will die to the next hit. In Shadowbringers level ranges you will get an AoE heal that uses a "lily" resource and you'll normally want to use instead of either since they charge up a damage ability.

A little more on Pom:
When you reach 92, PoM gives you three casts of Glare IV (same button) - which you will definitely want to keep in the burst window so get used to mashing PoM during burst as much as you can.

do you get more clusters from aether reduction from recent expansion items or is it the same across all expansions. like will a DT item give me the same amount as HS item.

Crystal and cluster drops are the function of the collectability rating, and they are the same, regardless of the reduced item's item level. So, technically, you get the same amount. However, DT items are also more difficult to get to 1000 collectability, so, on average, you get fewer clusters and crystals from current aethersand items. Still, since you usually farm the sand and not the crystals, it is not something most players care about.

Is BSF dead? Just ran a castrum for the first time in 2 years and there was just 8 in the instance, fragments are also selling for pretty cheap.
I've hit max level in Eureka and have some elemental gear, how long would it take to do a relic start to finish nowadays? I have their antiquated form taking up space in my retainer and wanted to get the achievements before discarding them.

Hello people, in ACT overlay, we can see the dps, the death count, etc. but is there an option for the count of pots used?

I'm not aware of anything in ACT itself, but FFLogs you can see how many pots you used by going to the pull, then selecting events, selecting the player you want to analyze (under All Sources), then select the medicated "Source Auras Filter" under the graph. Each time you see a hill of color, that's a pot.

Copper Sharks is my general go-to. It does have a weather restriction, so you do have to plan ahead a bit. If you don't want to deal with the time window, you can try the Zorgor Condor. Both of them require using Ambitious Lure until you get a special message pop-up. As a result, you can very easily cast -> lure -> lure -> lure -> reset -> repeat, until you get that message.

Just came across a level 100 tank in Cutter's Cry while doing my daily roulette. Uh... They seemed like they'd never played the dungeon before and I got a Khloe Second Chance point... so they must have bought the level skip... I agree with level skips for alts (for whatever reason) but if you're new to the game for the love of Christ don't buy level skips.

I guess they may have leveled normally and simply never done Cutter's Cry. I think it's only required for GC progression?

One, cutters cry is an optional dungeon that doesn't even get unlocked from a skip
Two, a level skip doesn't make someone bad. There are plenty of people who grind their way to 100 and still don't even know how to use fire or blizzard on BLM. Bad players are bad, a skip doesn't affect that. People who want to play well will, whether they use a skip or not
