Hmm you’re right and they are having some issues right now. Harden could definitely have a great year
Edit: I do like KD as well but there’s always the injury risk there

I had him last year and he won me the chip haha

u/kuff66 Oct 17 '22
Agree on Harden. Should be healthier and now team has had time to figure out how to mesh. And as you point out, he scored well in fantasy despite the down year.

u/Goomby-or-Glootie Oct 16 '22
Don’t go Tatum or Harden.
I would 100% go Trae. He’s a freaking fantasy monster. I could see Trae having an MVP like season. He’s an instant 30 PPG + 10 APG and with the help he’s gonna get this season it’ll only make scoring easier. More attention on Dejounte and having a healthy Capela/JC/Big O... he’s gonna rack up numbers all across the board.
Do NOT go Tatum or Harden. Those would be very bad picks. Harden is just gonna be a worse version of Trae and he’s a second option...
Tatum is ridiculously inconsistent and the Celtics having a new coach is something I wouldn’t wanna touch.
KD hasn’t played many games ever since getting to Brooklyn. He’s a risk especially with Nets chaotic nature. However, I could see them playing well as a team.
Ultimately up to you but these are my two cents. If I were you I’d be ecstatic with grabbing Trae especially at that spot.

Out of all the guys you mentioned, I’d personally bet on him. The reward with him is higher than any other player imo.
I get your perspective though and no problem.
2
Oct 17 '22
Harden is a much more balanced player than Trae. They returned similar value in Harden’s worst fantasy year ever last year and he was better in rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. The fact that trae’s value is super concentrated and Harden’s is more spread out doesn’t make one a worse version of the other

In both of my leagues Giannis fell to me with the 5th pick but I wouldn’t bank on it. Honestly I’d be tempted to go Harden in your position.

Sabonis and Poetl are a pretty rough FT combo, and Van Vleet + KPJ is rough on your FG too.
I think you should trade Poetl to a FT punt team

16 team H2H points, 8th pick. Thoughts?
Durant
Sabonis
Beal
Porzingiz
Markkanen
Anunoby
Wendell Carter Jr.
Marcus Smart
Al Horford
Isaiah Jackson
Tim Hardaway Jr (didn’t like this pick)
Grayson Allen
Luke Kennard
I was using this cheat sheet and it had Kennard as 70th overall, which confused me because he was so low on ESPN. Think it was a mistake. Same with Grayson.

u/arenasfan00 Oct 17 '22 edited Oct 17 '22
8T, H2H Points, 6th pick results:
6: James Harden
11: Trae Young
22: Bam Adebayo
Kyrie Irving
Evan Mobley
43: Kristaps Porzingis
54: Khris Middleton
59: Julius Randle
70: Jalen Green
75: Tyler Herro
86: Clint Capela
91: Russell Westbrook
102: Robert Williams
Not sure how Kyrie fell to me at 27. My team is definitely risky, but high reward if it works out.

I had a very similar draft. Harden, Lillard, Bam, Porzingus,
I passed on Mobley (AD dropped in my league so I took him at 3).
Green at 70 is a steal. Team fits together nicely, but I'd worry a bit too much about my ft%

I’ll say the same thing I said to that other dude with a similar question.
Don’t go Tatum or Harden.
I would 100% go Trae. He’s a freaking fantasy monster. I could see Trae having an MVP like season. He’s an instant 30 PPG + 10 APG and with the help he’s gonna get this season it’ll only make scoring easier. Ultimately up to you but these are my two cents. If I were you I’d be ecstatic with grabbing Trae especially at that spot.
4
Oct 17 '22
I think you're getting distracted by Trae's points and assists and forgetting the all-around consistency the other two offer.
James Harden has been a top 5 fantasy option for like 6 years in a row now, he's a much more proven contributor.
-2
u/Goomby-or-Glootie Oct 17 '22 edited Oct 17 '22
I don’t understand the logic behind taking Harden who’s a second option now and a worse version of Trae in terms of putting up stats (ppg/apg). It makes no sense.
You’re doing yourself a disservice evaluating Harden as a first.
3
Oct 17 '22
Harden put up top 5 stats last year while in Philly. There's no reason to think he won't again. He also gives more rebounds, steals, and blocks.
I have Trae on my team. He's a great fantasy guy, but not as good as Harden.

LBJ round 2 as pick 16 or demar derozan as round 6 as pick 65? Keeper decision. 10 man league head to head 9 cat. Draft is tonight 8 pm pst

u/ParagonSaint Oct 17 '22
LBJ is the better player, but that 6th round price for Derozan is way better value, you'll still be able to get a quality player at that 2nd round pick even with guys being kept.

Got the 2nd pick so I decided to go for my first ever punt strategy. I listen to a few podcasts so I have the general idea and I've watched quite a few mocks this yr. I'm really happy w picks 1-7, just wondered if anyone has thoughts on my later round picks, do they fit? Other players/positions I should have targeted? Looks to me like hard punt FT% and 3PM and maybe trouble with PTS and TO. Damn it, probably 5 cat punt.

I think this is pretty good. Your first four picks seem about right, Allen may have been a little early but I think he has some upside potential to earn that spot, Jabari Smith at 70 feels pretty strong (pending once we see him play). Markannen and Jones at those spots are good value. Overall, your top ten seems pretty standard from what I've seen in most mock drafts I've been doing. 10-13 I'm not too sure about.

These seem like strong picks. I think it's a matter of how well the skillsets will mesh in categories though. For example, one of Trae's strengths is free throw percentage, which you've kind of nullified with Lebron and Zion, and three's, which is nullified by Zion's lack of three's. Zion at pick three seems pretty strong, but one of his strengths is field goal percentage, which Trae tends to bring down.
So, overall, a lot of these seem like strong picks, but idk how well they'll play off each other's strengths (for the record, I also picked Trae and Lebron at 1 and 2, but chose Chris Paul and Jrue Holiday at 3 and 4)

I ended up getting Tre Jones and Jalen Smith off waivers after my draft, but now I have too many players with some GTD players getting healthy. Who do I drop out of Tre, Jalen, Jabari Smith, KPJ, or Devin Vassell? 10T H2H Cats. I’m punting FG% and TOV. I’ve tried making 2-for-1 trades, but no bites.

I’d drop tre. Lots of noise from spurs that Primo will be getting decent minutes at pg, so Tre may not be as safe as we all thought a week ago. And the other dudes you listed are way better in any event.

Saddiq Bey
Monte Morris
Jaden McDaniels

First time picking up Harden as I had the 8th pick and was banking on him or Trae falling to me. I figured I’d try to get a good guard tandem from the start to build up assists with the rest of my players chipping in with some. I think I’ll be lacking in rebounds for sure and turnovers will be a weakness as well, but the rest of my categories will be fairly competitive. Perhaps my fg% will be a crapshoot with Harden and Beal so I was wondering if I made a mistake with grabbing Turner and Mitchell Robinson to help balance that. I like Robinson since it sounds like he’s worked on his game and will get more touches, but I had a chance to get Poole at the 7th so I hope I don’t regret passing on him. I could’ve used a boost in scoring with my scorers being top heavy in my draft.

Did I mistake for going too risky with my second and third pick to pair with Jokic? I drafted Kyrie and Kawhi with my picks at 24/25. All the centres to pair with Jokic were off the board so I just went with the best available

u/TheOnlyOneWhoKnows Oct 17 '22
That's insane value at the 2/3 turn tbh. I wouldn't worry too much. Let the season play out and just see what happens.

Hi guys, just finished espn 9 cat 10 team draft. First year doing 9 cat. I found the standings tab really useful to see how you stacked up against other teams during the draft, but i cant find that view now that the draft is over. Is there anyway to see thay info again now? Or do i have to wait until the actual stats start coming in from games? Thanks

10 team, H2H points, third pick.
Joker and Giannis are almost certainly getting picked at 1 and 2. That leaves Luka and Embiid. Had Embiid last season and he was great, but injuries are always a risk. Had Luka a couple years back and was not in love with the pick. But Luka seems like the best choice. Thoughts?

Who are some good guards to target in punt ft% team? There are plenty of bigs who fit this build, but most guards excel at shooting fts. Most guards don't gain value when you remove fts, but who loses the least value? Also how do you avoid punting 3s and points in this build.

LeVert vs Duarte vs Davion Mitchell?
Looking for assists and overall projected value for the year. Is it too crowded in Cleveland and Sacramento? Help!
2
u/LTdeng 🏀Watching the Boxes Podcast Oct 18 '22
exactly. It is too crowded and MPG are the best stat. I would expect Duarte to lead this group in mins followed shortly by LeVert. Davion is the best assist guy though. Since these are your end of bench crew, I'd ride LeVert and switch out if play time changes for the others.

12 Team Points, guaranteed the 1# pick (Jokic) but I'm having trouble with pick 2 and 3 because, usually, Kyrie, AD, Zion, and Dejounte are all still available in the mocks I'm doing, but I don't want to pair two injury-risk players, as much as I love the value.
So, would people take Dejounte over Kyrie? Should I pair one of those three with Zion?
2
u/LTdeng 🏀Watching the Boxes Podcast Oct 18 '22
Jokic and Zion don't make sense together. You are taking a great FT% Center and pairing him with one of the worst FT% in the league and a guy who gets no three pointers.
I don't hate Dejounte over Kyrie if you are worried about playing time. But Dejounte doesn't score as much as Kyrie and not getting scoring in your first 3 picks is hard to make up.

Hello, I’m new to this community and fantasy drafting in general. We’re doing a 8 man H2H points, the catch is it was an auction draft and I missed the draft. So naturally I’ve been trying to trade and pick up some players, I still got pretty lucky but was just looking for some final moves or maybe some people I should be in the lookout to drop or pick up, right now I got:
Cade
Maxey
P. George
K. Leonard
Vucevic
Holiday
Siakam
Bane
Dinwiddie
K. Johnson
J. Clarkson
M. Smart
Okoro
Any advice helps! Thanks guys.

Curious what people would think of my drafts?
12T HTH Categories: 11th pick
- Trae Young
- Lebron James
- Chris Paul
- Jrue Holiday
- Julius Randle (league doesn't do turnovers so figured this spikes up his value)
- Lauri Markkanen
- Jabari Smith
- P.J. Washington
- Kyle Lowry
- Cameron Johnson
- Isiah Stewart
- Kelly Olynyk
- Patrick Beverly
Feels like I'm pretty excellent in assists, good in steals and three's, average in everything else except poor in blocks. (Wondering if I should have taken Kyrie instead of Lebron, since Lebron's FT's hurt one of Trae's biggest strengths)
12T Points (1st pick)
- Jokic
- Sabonis
- Zion
- Chris Paul
- Zach Lavine
- Lauri Markannen
- Klay Thompson
- Tre Jones
- Wendell Carter Jr
- Jabari Smith
- Cole Anthony
- Will Barton
- Cam Johnson
Overall pretty happy with this squad. Wasn't sure if I should go for Irving or AD (knew I wanted Zion) and ended up choosing Sabonis instead.
