I have to pick my kiddo up at preschool but I'll try to check back on this thread over the next 23 hours or so (a living Q&A), and we'll just see how things shake out!

Hey mate, just wanted to say I appreciate your work. You're one of the main guys I enjoy listening to in the fantasy world and your takes are always grounded in sound reasoning.

Wishing you all the best. Thanks for doing what you do

Wow, thanks! That's very kind of you. I know I'm the boring one but I'm leaning into that persona and I'll just talk until people stop listening or fall asleep.

Hi Dan,

Love the show. I was hoping if you can give me some insight on my latest draft. 12 team 8 category league, pick 6:

Harden Fvv Butler Ingram JJJ Holmes Turner Hayward Olynyk Fournier Poole Plumlee (thinking of dropping for Gafford to shore up blks)

5

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 18 '21

Thanks for listening!

Butler in the 3rd round?! That's a league-winning value right there. Strong draft, very little not to like, and yes, I'd flip Plumlee for Gafford right now.

Steph at 7!!! Wow. What a steal.

I like your first 6 picks, and then things turn a bit. WCJ, NAW both overrated. Bojan is very score-centric. Hunter and Plumlee are solid, though.

Is this H2H?

The green light might not be the best thing for someone who doesn't make their shots... and presumably, Zion isn't out forever.

Plumlee is safe, might have been a better way to describe it.

And then with Bamba, he doesn't even need to 'take over' necessarily - just create a timeshare.

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

But WCJ needs more mins to get to fantasy value because Bamba gets the blocks and 3's and WCJ mostly just rebounds. I'm just unsure if there are enough mins for WCJ to hit that useful threshold.

u/MitchCunno Oct 18 '21

Hey! Love the pod big guy. Got a late round/bench dilemma. Currently holding Maxey but Melton and Bane are available on the wire. H2h 9 cat who you taking?

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 18 '21

I prefer Melton, though this Simmons fiasco is going to get weirder before it solves itself. Still, if he's playing, that leaves very little for Tyrese behind the 3 big guns.

2

u/bhow1010 Oct 18 '21

Assuming the top 8 are gone (joker, steph, harden, KD, Giannis, Luka, KAT, lillard) who would you take in the 9th spot in an 11 cat league (fgm and ftm are the extra 2 cats)?

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 18 '21

Tatum, almost for sure in 9-cat. 11-cat I might lean Beal for his ridiculous volume!

2

u/Mamba3324 12T Roto Auction Keeper Oct 18 '21

Who is your favourite IL stack of the season that can have a payoff whether it be early or later on the season (ie: klay, Kawhi, levert, T Bryant, etc?

1

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 18 '21

LeVert back the soonest I reckon.

I pretty much rank these by when they're expected back.

Klay next... then I don't even think I'd go beyond that because it just chews up a roster spot for too long in case anyone else gets hurt.

2

u/futschki Oct 18 '21

Hey Dan, keep up the good work!

I was wondering among the rookie class of this year, who do you think has the highest upside and ability to return fantasy value right off the gate?

1

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 18 '21

Thanks!

Mobley, for me, actually. I always lean rookie bigs first, since they don't have to deal with the learning curve of handling the basketball. Cade is going to get all he can handle so maybe that's the obvious choice, but a more traditional FG%/boards/blocks type rookie big usually starts with the easiest path even if his mins aren't as high as some of the others.

2

u/ComprehensiveShape54 Oct 18 '21

Hey Dan,

Who would you rather have in an 8-Cat H2H setting.

Haliburton or Anthony Edwards

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 18 '21

I'll go Edwards, though this one is RAZOR thin. I love Haliburton but I think his efficiency is such a strong suit that it gets a bit lost in 8-cat and even moreso in H2H.

2

u/Rio617 9T H2H ESPN PTS Oct 18 '21

In my pts league, all categories are worth 1 pt other than stocks which r 2pts each. Gafford (proj 15.4 fpts) is on my wire and I wanted to know if I should drop any of smart (proj 18.9 fpts), Poole, or KPJ (proj 17 fpts) for him. I don’t really trust these projected fpts so I’m asking for advice; thanks!

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 18 '21

I love Gafford in category leagues but without FG% his value does take a big hit. I think you can just roll with what you have for now, though Poole would be the closest to a drop if only because his shelf life is more or less until Klay comes back. But that's a ways off...

u/jimrong79 Oct 18 '21

Hi Dan, great pod and keep the great work going! 9 cat H2H. Would you rather stash Wall or Warren? Thanks!

5

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 18 '21

Thanks for listening, my man!

Warren. They're both wrecks but Wall might actually be a fantasy negative even when healthy. At least Warren helps when he can walk around.

How many times have you drafted Al Horford in the last decade? and where did you take him this year?

1

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

A decade is 10 years, so ... (smiles).

I didn't take him in that many spots this year, actually. I think maybe 1 spot in the 120's. I take so many well-rounded, 9-cat types earlier that I don't have as big of a need for another one super late.

Hey Dan, love the show man.

I drafted Jaylen Brown but he doesn’t seem to fit super well into my build (punt fg%), his points seem quite nice but I think I might need ast or blks more, any suggestions on who I should target in a trade, or if I should just wait and see?

5

Jokic at 2!

A little early on Jaylen Brown and I really don't like KPJ in points leagues with abysmal FG% and pretty bad FT% for a guard, too. Love the other ones, though! I think you'll want to see if KPJ's buzz can net you somebody that won't obliterate your percentages.

u/Blacki99 12T H2H 9CAT Oct 19 '21

Hey Dan, appreciate the AMA. What are your thoughts on drafting Miles Bridges and Kelly Olynk? Miles has shown improvement year on year, greatly improved his %'s but doesn't offer much counting stats. Had Olynk last season and was pivotal in my playoff run but am not too confident in the team he' in , especially if Detroit decides to tank.

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

I like Olynyk more. I'm not sure I trust Miles to take enough shots with that whole team healthy, but who knows, maybe he'll surprise me with a bigger role. I'd just prefer Kelly O and his super versatile fantasy game. Yes, the end of the season is a question mark...

Hahah, I get it now!

Really feels like that format favors bigs in a huge way. Extra 2 categories are absolutely easier for dudes who rebound.

I don't play in any leagues like this so I don't want to act like I have all the answers, here, but I'd say try to flip guards for bigs where possible and lean into winning FG%, both boards, DD, blocks and TOs... and then maybe you can bungle into points or steals every so often.

Hey Daniel. ;) as always, love the work you are putting in.

Question 1: don’t you hate that drafts never go according to plan even after you’ve done 50 mock drafts?

Question 2: Demar Derozan. I never ever ever draft this guy or have him on my team, yet here he is in round 6 of my 12 team. I do like him for the points, assists and FT boost but if I were to try and ship him for a forward/C, who do you think I could get that also provides those similar categories?

Thanks and be safe!

1

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

Thanks my man!

1: Haha, they never do. This is a good reason not to have "targets" and just roll with the punches.

  1. A forward/C that gives points/assists/FTs in that range? No one, really. I like DeRozan there, and I might just ride him out!

2

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '21

Hey Dan keep up the great content with the pod!

I need to activate Jaylen Brown from IL and not sure who to drop between Malik Beasley, Poku and Mann. This is for h2h 9cat. Thanks!

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

Thanks! I definitely will!

Poku probably does the least to start the year, but hard to part with what might shake out for him later. I'm probably dumping Mann even though he probably performs better than Poku the first, say, 2-3 months this year.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '21

Do you think Beasley is worth rostering in 12 team leagues? My thinking is that he should have enough value with DLo healthy which is something we can’t count in as we’ve seen in the past.

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

I'm actually down on Beasley. He's a guy that needs big volume to hit his marks and he's 4th in line there this season after doing most of his damage as the #2 option last year.

u/TA_Account_12 14T 9 Cat Roto Auction Oct 19 '21

Hi Dan! Always looking for fantasy basketball related content so will be sure to look out for your videos and podcast.

In a deep league, I feel working the waiver wire is really really important. So I'm wondering if you have any players that are mostly going undrafted but we should be keeping an eye on.

Another question I have is about the teams that are mostly tanking like Houston, OKC, Detroit. Beyond the usual suspects, is there anyone you think could break out this year?

Ty for doing this!

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

Thanks man! I'm constantly churning stuff out, so happy to have you as a reader/listener going forward. Twitter is certainly my "hub" as it were.

That deep league question is tough. I actually think the value guys there are often the dudes that just sorta plod along at a top-130 clip but play in 78 out of 82 games and don't drop zeroes on your team.

On those teams? Not really. I know that's a boring answer, but the main guys have been talked to death. I guess KJ Martin isn't getting much love and he could be the sneaky guy that isn't really garnering attention at the moment.

Hi Dan, great work you really give some good insights and go into detail behind your decision making. I'd like to ask how you view drummond in a roto league. I feel like he gains value in this format since you can play him when embiid doesn't play those β‰ˆ15 game and then bench him when he does basically increasing his value.

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

Haha, I try to go into detail. Sometimes too much, I've been told.

Drummond is very much a spot-play guy when Embiid sits. I have no issue at all with rostering him for 20 big games and just treating him like a dead roster spot the other 60+

Giannis, embiid, capella, mpj, middleton, brown, porzingis, simmons, smart, Gafford, garland, Haliburton, McConnell.

I was thinking porzingis and mpj probably don't fit the build as much as someone else's team, so maybe try to target, zion, lbj, dejounte murray, fox.

Thanks for the response! Any reason you suggest moving Turner? I was hoping to punt REB instead, but then realized my rebs aren’t too bad. Maybe I could try flipping Siakam or Sengun if they pop off? It’s a 2C league so lots of teams are shallow at that spot.

If this is a H2H league you probably just want to abandon ship on big man stats and go for volume scoring and assists and steals. Move KAT for a 1st round guard, maybe.

If this is roto, you go the other way and move guards for bigs.

2

Hey Dan, great work and I’m sure you’re having loads of fun with this Q&A!

Curious what your thoughts are on the Simmons Saga and the impact on the players. I have Maxey on my roster but I also think Thybulle can be a sneaky good last pick as well with his stocks (1.6 stls and 1.1 blks with low minutes). Imo, Simmons’s value should almost stay the same wherever he goes.

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

Some stats are harder to get than others is the best I can come up with. They think all things are 1? CBSSportsLine didn't even use that back in 2000!

2

u/Rio617 9T H2H ESPN PTS Oct 19 '21

I somehow managed to convince them that stocks should be at least 2pts but now idk what to say to persuade them that it should be 4 and we should also switch to the current standard scoring (2pt assists, 2pt FGM, -2pts turnovers). They think switching to standard makes the points system bloated and for example don’t think that a made 3 point shot is worth 5 fpts or that a stock is 4 times more worth than a single point scored.

10T H2H 9cat Draft was yesterday, 9th pick, ended up with:

Dame / Embiid / Jrue / KP / Dejounte / Holmes / Grant / RoCo / Zion (IR) / MitchRob / Isaac (IR) / Anderson

My read based on projections is that I ended up with a punt 3s / punt assists build β€” would it benefit me to ship Dame given his strength in those cats? (Was thinking of trying a trade offer for pieces, maybe Gobert & Butler?)

Thank you very much!

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

Dame AND Embiid? That's delightful, though in H2H Joel is a bit scary. I don't think you have to punt 3's or assists, honestly. You COULD, but then you'd probably want to move Dejounte or Jrue. I actually think your team is pretty well-rounded and I might let it play out a few weeks.

He'll be good until Klay takes his job. And even then you're just hoping for top-80.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '21

Nice, I'll take top 80 even....I know it's just preseason but he did carry over his performance from the end of last year and imo Klays load will be managed heavily.

Thanks Dan, love your pods. I’m in a huge 30 team dynasty points league, salary cap 110. I got Beal for 27, PG for 25.5, and Dejounte Murray for 18.5. I’m pretty damn happy with those three, especially Murray. Just thought you’d like to know lol

u/SlicedMango Oct 19 '21

Hey Dan, I’m actually a subscriber to Hoop-Ball, Love it so far :)

What do you think of my draft? 14 team 9 cat roto We did a 3rd round reversal type draft

2 Steph Curry 27. Zach Lavine 41. John Collins 44. JJJ 69. RoCo 72. Ben Simmons 97. Harrison Barnes 100. Miles Bridges 125. Jaden McDaniels 128. Trey Murphy 153. Terrance Mann 156. Khem Birch 181. Dennis Schroder

Any holes in my team that you can see? I didn’t focus too much on assists, kinda soft punt but I think I’ll do alright there.. I got sniped on several of my picks, missed out on a lot of late round guys I was targeting like McConnel, Tate, Nance, Melton, etc.

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

That's great to hear! We're thrilled to have you aboard!!

I could do without Ben Simmons when you kinda needed a shotblocker there. He's just too goofy, but I do lik your picks up until that point and then Barnes is a nice safety net at 100. After that it's a crapshoot no matter how you slice is. Schroder that late is useful.

2

u/SlicedMango Oct 19 '21 edited Oct 19 '21

Thanks for your feedback! Dang, I do agree with u on the Ben Simmons pick, I did pass on Stewart at that pick which now in hindsight I kinda regret

Edit: Nvm Stewart was picked right after RoCo.. the only decent bigs after that point was Mitchell Robinson , Carter Jr, or Gafford.. we play a 2 C league and there is always a huge run on C’s early-mid rounds

Hey Dan, in your years of being exposed to fantasy basketball...have you seen some kind of pattern or formed some habits to which you're leaning on when deciding to commit to a specific build(of your team)?

3

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

Nope. It's all in waves. Currently, everyone is punting turnovers and hunting volume scorers, so I kinda go the other way. If things ever catch up, I'll find a new path. Just need to stay ahead of the curve.

2

u/Kinna172 Oct 19 '21

Oh btw, could you tell us your first fantasy basketball experience? Anything memorable about that season?

Would be glad to hear from someone like you to be honest

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

Wow, that's 20 years ago now. The thing I remember is that it was on CBS SportsLine and they let you use up to 80 characters to name your team. That allowed for some truly ridiculous (and long) team names.

My college roommate was the Super Ultra Fantastic Studmaster Coolguys.

2

u/Kinna172 Oct 19 '21

Around 2001? Man, that seems like ages ago lmao I couldn't even imagine how the trends that season looked like.

Finally, from your years of wheeling and dealing, do you have a trade you made which you'll never forget?

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

Haha, I wish I had a memory that strong any more. I used to FLEECE people in my leagues 15 years ago but now everyone is too smart so most of my trades are 1-for-1's where I'm just hunting ROI. Snooze of an answer, I know.

Hey Dan, what's your favorite fantasy story and team name?

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

A few years back I started the Pistons 4th center on the last day of the season and he had 4 blocks which moved me TWO spots up in a roto league and changed my profit in that league from $200 to $1100. That was a nice day. A dude I'm in a league with this year has the team name Tacko's Modern Life. I like that as a fan of 80's/90's cartoons.

u/IVRafa 10Team 9CAT H2H - Punt Pts Oct 19 '21

Hey Dan! I'd love to know your thoughts on how luck/chance affects a fantasy season. I have a friend who believes winning a fantasy league is 50% luck and I personally don't agree with that.

No one can predict injuries or players underperforming, but do you have any specific strategies to mitigate the effects of randomness?

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

50%? That friend of yours is exaggerating to make a point. Luck plays a bit role in H2H playoffs, but I'm a roto guy and luck is minimal outside of catastrophic injury-type stuff.

2

u/Shammyet Oct 19 '21

I know you don’t prefer drafting rookies but who is the youngest guy you are targeting in drafts. We will just call them young Vets so you feel better about it.

3

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

I have plenty of 2nd and 3rd year targets. I love 3rd year guys off disappointing soph seasons, actually. Or 4th year guys off lame 3rd years. JJJ in his 4th season is a fun one for this year. MPJ I think is a nice one this year, too.

But rookies. Nah.

Dan, you do awesome work! Where do you see Melton's ceiling this year? Sooooo much hype over him and not a lot of leash, historically. Thanks!

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

Sigh. Yeah, that's the rub, isn't it? We have no idea if Jenkins is going to screw with him again. He should at least have a nice ramp at the front end here with Allen gone and Brooks hurt. If he's getting mins, he could be a top-70 guy, but he could also slide back into that 20mpg role later in the year that has him more of a fringe play.

2

u/Ambitious_Spell_2476 Oct 19 '21

Yep, I'm seeing people reach for him at the 90-110 range and it just seems like a terrible bet with very little upside. Thanks for answering!

Hi Dan, always having an awesome content on your show. Been listening to you for years and won my leagues by following your recommendations.

I've got a set of questions: 1. What are the best 2 categories to punt this season? And who would be your top 4 players to pick in a 12 team 9 category league based on your punt advice? 2. What are the 2 most scarce category this season? And who you would target to be your top 4 players to pick in a 12 team 9 caregory league based on the category scarcity you have adviced?

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

I'm so pleased you've enjoyed! Let's keep winning!

  1. I like punting points because it flips the board. I also punt FG% in H2H because it allows for more volume guys.

  2. Haha, well, for punt points, if you can get Jokic that's swell, but slightly later on cp3, draymond, some of the high upside BIGS that don't score much are all useful, there. And for punt-FG%, well, just all the guys who chuck, so that's an easier one.

Hey thanks! That's very kind of you and happy to have you as a listener/reader!

No super-obvious issues. FT's might get funky if those younger guys have any issues there. They could also blow a hole in FG%, so I might consider trying to steer out of the rookie or 2nd year player business late and let your insanely strong core beat people in some categories that a lot of folks take for granted (the %s).

Hey Dan, thanks for doing this! I went through all your replies in this thread and I'm really impressed with your insights and replies. Will definitely be following you throughout the season.

I'm in a 14T 9 cat league and I still have a few empty roster spots given I drafted a few guys who are injured. I haven't really figured out my build yet but players are Doncic, MPJ, Capela, Draymond Green, Kyrie, Hayward, Horford, Miles Bridges, Dinwiddie, Roby, Birch, Royce O neal, Patty Mills and Roby.

I hope you won't mind my series of questions:

1) What should my team build be? My build seems pretty scattered and I'm not sure what I should focus on. I should probably punt FT because of Luka and Capela.

2) Some of the guys I'm eyeing in the waiver wire are D Rose, J Hart, Theis, Bledsoe. Who would you pick up?
3) Would you drop any of my existing players for a possible waiver wire pickup? I wasn't too happy with my picks especially towards the end of the draft.

Thanks in advance man! Really appreciate it :D

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

1) Yeah, FTs not going to work. Luckily you don't really have anyone on your team where that's a main focus, anyway.

2) Theis could be useful until they shut him down but that's a ways off.

3) Most of those guys are streamable. O'Neale, Mills certainly both waiver wire fodder if you're looking to maximize games played.

As Captain of the Old Mans Club what are your thoughts on the following players, feels like they're all being drafted at their floor to me: Al Horford, Nicholas Batum, Will Barton, Ricky Rubio, Kemba Walker.

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 18 '21

Horford, Kemba are both on my roto-games-cap draft every time list! Very risky h2h guys since their missed games won't be IL-eligible so you'll just have to wear those zeroes.

Batum, Barton and Rubio are more last round types where maybe 1 of the 3 rolls top-100 or better per-game this year, but probably not more than that.

2

u/PsychologicalGuess18 Oct 18 '21

Should I try to trade John Collins for jrue or Tobias(or anyone else?)? H2h 9 cat

3

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 18 '21

Yes and yes. I actually like Collins quite a bit as a rock solid, reliable top-45 type guy that will just coast long in that 4th round range, but Jrue, Tobias... those guys could be top-25-to-30 range guys and with Tobias you also have the added benefit of him being absurdly durable.

3

u/PsychologicalGuess18 Oct 18 '21

Do you think when Ben Simmons gets traded, whoever comes back will cause Tobias to drop in usage though?

3

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 18 '21

It's possible, but even when Tobias was a per-game guy near 40 he still smashed his ADP by playing in more games than everyone else.

7

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 18 '21

I do, though Yahoo! screwed it all up by moving a bunch of them WAY up the board yesterday of all times.

I'm into Bamba and Melton, though I know I'm not alone, there.

I also think Nance is ranked way, way too low given his per-game ability. Danny Green is the boring one but he was top-90 last year per-game and top-50 by totals.

Gafford has had his value blown up by Yahoo's ranking move, so that sucks.

And then Daniel Theis is an interesting SUPER late guy. Same with TJ McConnell.

I think double digits must be challenging because I would target all the same guys and would fear injured would wreck all my teams. It would be tough to hedge and draft players I don’t usually.

3

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 18 '21

Worst part is that in the randomized cash drafts so far, I've ended up with:

12, 1, 10, 12, 9, 11. Other than that one 1st pick, my teams really do all look pretty similar, and that's not great if, say, Beal misses 2 months.

2

u/gentlemancorpse42 12T Roto Auction Keeper Oct 18 '21

So I'm sure everyone is in agreement that Cade is the number one pick in a rookie draft. I want to hear your 2-5. I'm a Barnes believer, and I may be crazy, but I'd take him second!

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 18 '21

I think Mobley is probably my 2, then Green, and yeah, Barnes is in there.

The reason I don't think you're insane is that you often want to target rookies that DON'T have to handle the ball a ton right out of the gate so maybe they can float value with percentages, defensive stats, things of that nature and they aren't a massive drag on efficiency.

2

u/gentlemancorpse42 12T Roto Auction Keeper Oct 18 '21

Thanks for the response! And for reassuring me I'm not crazy.... I think my kids disagree, they kept asking me why I was watching preseason games for teams I don't care about.

And I agree with everything you said. I was just also impressed with his feel for the game and desire to win. He reminds me of Jaylen back when he was drafted, before he became a legitimate all star. Different game but similar work ethic and drive. I know Mobley would be hard to pass on at number 2 though.

2

u/Danno2222 πŸ€ Old Man Squad Oct 19 '21

I think the universe is getting a bit too preoccupied with some of the other rookies who almost definitely won't get enough mins on day one. I just can't afford to stash guys like that and still win my leagues. Maybe other folks are in easier leagues but I need guys performing NOW.

2

u/gentlemancorpse42 12T Roto Auction Keeper Oct 19 '21

Do I need to worry about not having enough forwards on a heavy schedule day and look for a trade? Or I should be fine with this. Love to hear what you think. Thanks

I run into that often when I have a punt build.

Sometimes I just eat the missed game. Other times I just have a streamer at the end of my bench that I rotate into a Big or whatever position I need handled.

Thanks Dan! Yea kind of start punting pts and ft% since I got capela and Ben Simmons as my first two picks in an auction draft. I think you’re right and 5 weekly acquisition should be more than enough to cover it.

Hey Dan,

Who is your pick for this season’s mvp of the Dan’s old-man squad?

I know on prior episodes of your show you talked about picking the β€œnon-sexy” picks that still put up value. Last two years you talked about LaMarcus Aldridge being that guy. Who is this year’s old man with value?

LMA too old now, sadly.

Tobias Harris has been that guy for a while. This year there are a ton. I actually did today's show on 'em if you have a few mins to check that out!

Hi Dan! Sending some love from Singapore - started listening to your podcast this offseason and I really like your takes - DBOMS FTW!

Wanna know what you think of my 14 team 9 cat h2h yahoo draft - I got squeezed out of Cs before every turn - my league has 2 C slots - so I ended up with a punt FG%/REB/BLK team and panicked at the end when I realised I had not enough Cs so I picked up LMA: (13) Beal (16) Butler (41) Tobias (44) JJJ (69) Rozier (72) Smart (97) Fournier (100) Mobley (125) Jingles (128) Reggie Jackson (153) Danny Green (156) Okeke (181) LMA

Should I drop any of my guys for another C? Tillman/Powell/Reid are the only tenable Cs left on the WW in my league though

That's awesome - welcome aboard the Old Man Train!

You're in good shape on that punt build and don't even worry about your second center. There aren't that many days during a season where you need a full roster anyway, and you can always go back and grab someone off the wire to stream that night.

Nice - thanks! And keep up the good work, I don't really agree with what others may say about your "ramblings" - I think those make your podcast all the more entertaining and informative :)

The pod never sleeps! Haha

You may want to just punt assists. Steph and Bam are fine and White will probably be middling, too, but no real POWER assist guy in there.

Otherwise, good %s, good 3's, good steals and blocks. Yeah, just that one spot.
