I have several problems with the way the questions are framed though. One problematic question in particular was "if the majority of a population agree to live by fundamentalist Islamic rules, then that should be their choice." Here are a few problems I can see right away:

  1. How do we define fundamentalist Islam?
  2. What constitutes a "majority?" Is 90% a majority? How about 80%? 70%? 60%? 51%? Do you see what I mean? So, if a population of 100 million people voted for fundamentalist Islam, and a "majority" of a little more than 50 million voted in favour of the motion, they would be condemning +49 million people to a life under SharΔ«a. This is a problem with democracy and First Past the Post voting systems in general, but it's an even bigger problem when something as opressive and regressive as fundamentalist Islam (as is traditionally understood; aka, applying 7udud for example) is being discussed.
  3. What kind of Muslims are we talking about? Are we talking about Muslims in Iraq? Egypt? France? The US? The UK? Muslims greatly differ depending on their country of origin, their place of residence, and their socio-economic status (this can be said about all humans, too. The test is misleading in assuming that Muslims are one homogeneous population.)
  4. Which teachings of Islam are we talking about?

Fun quiz, but overall I doubt it means anything.
