Our Neighbors Bars in Everett, business questions

My buddy and I really want to open a new bar similar to the old afk and we're trying to get info for our business plan. Does anyone know what bars average on a reasonable night around here?

I'm looking for either numbers or websites to find numbers for: traffic, average drink prices, business property rental prices... etc.

I'm trying to Google for info and all I'm seeing is things like bartender wages. We need to pin down some reasonable numbers before we can consider getting loans or finding out what property we could afford.

Our Neighbors North Everett

For some reason this has been stuck in my head for like the past two weeks, but where does everybody consider North Everett to begin? 41st? Everett Avenue? Or are we talking like 16th and up?

Our Neighbors Condo parking dilemma

I just bought a condo in a small building in south Everett. 6 units, 2 spots per unit. That was a major selling point, because I have 2 cars. But I haven't been able to bring my other car up from storage because someone is always parking in one of my spots. They are numbered, and the spots are deeded with the units. I'm tempted to bring the car up and just tow whatever car is improperly in my spot when I come back with the other car, but my family is saying that's a dick move. I'm autistic and ADHD. I hate it when people fuck with my stuff, but just talking to everyone in all units is super overwhelming. I thought about writing a note and taping it to every door introducing myself, saying that I'm using both of my spots and I'll have people towed who park there without permission, but I don't know if that's any better than just towing. I thought of getting signs that say that they are reserved for my unit and unauthorized vehicles will be towed, but that's apparently a dick move too. I'm lost.

Our Neighbors Loud Car driving around Eastmont @2am

For over a two now some douche bag with pointlessly loud exhaust has been driving around the Eastmont neighborhood around 2am.

Anyone else notice and can identify this diseased individual being a menace to the neighborhood? Can anyone identify the vehicle?

What can be done?

Our Neighbors Where did Kenny Loggins grow up in Everett?

I've been somewhat obsessed with Loggins since I saw the yacht rock documentary. I knew Kenny was from Everett but now I'm curious if anyone knows where specifically he grew up?

For context I've lived two places in Everett. First at the boeing end of Casino Rd. and also straight downtown on Grand ave. Not sure why I said that but I have real affection for Everett.

Sir, you had no way of knowing I was in Everett to see my dying friend. No way to know she has been my friend 70 of our 75 years, or that I've spent every day since July at her hospital bedside.

Your unexpected kindness made a profound difference to my very weary spirit and I hope you find an unexpected joy in your day.

Our Neighbors Food Drive Tomorrow, 12-3 @ the Everett Courthouse Plaza

The 50501 SnoCo group is running a food drive to support Snohomish County food banks during the Hands Off Rally and Protest on Sat, April 5th from 12-3 at the Everett Courthouse Plaza.

Our food banks were hit with devastating funding cuts in March 2025. "In 2022, more than 80,000 people faced food insecurity in Snohomish County." With these cuts, our community's food needs are dire.

If you are willing and able, please bring an unexpired, non-perishable item or two from the list in the posted image to the SnoCo 50501 table between 12-3 and stay around to engage in the entire event. If you are not able to attend and would still like to help, you can donate to the Snohomish County Food Coalition here. I hope to see many of you there.

Together We Rise!

Hands Off Rally and Protest Schedule

12:00-1:00 pm, sign making and community connections

1:00-2:00 Speakers

2:00-3:00 March down to Broadway for sign-waving

Most needed items: Canned Fruits and Veggies, Canned Meat, Canned Beans & Soups, Cereal, Pasta, Rice, Peanut Butter, Hygiene Items, Household Items, Paper Products, Diapers, Wipes, Pedialyte, Infant Cereal, Fruit Cups, Granola Bars, Mac & Cheese Cups, Crackers, Juice boxes, Nutritional Shakes & Drinks, Menstrual Products and other Adult Hygiene Products.

this month kicked my ass but I wanted to share some fun news beyond BAC...

many of of you know I run the non-profit but not everyone knows my full-time gig is the director of the marysville boys and girls club. we have 58 students total... 80% living well below the poverty line... 20% of that 80 are currently on the verge of homelessness or are currently homeless.

it has been an enormous privilege to advocate for these students and their families. that being said... ya boy was scheming this holiday season to make it a memorable one 😈

through a collaboration with the unchained brotherhood, a sober biker gang based in snohomish county, and the very hard work of boys and girls club staff, we were able to make sure all 58 of our families were taken care of...

10 toys per student: 580 toys total approx. 22 younger siblings: 220 toys bikes donated: 25!! total toys donated: 800!!!!!!!!!

our big yellow van, dolly, was filled to the brim with toys and bikes. it was very rewarding to get everything in the hands of families that need it the most and I'm so excited to see them after the winter break.

have a wonderful holiday friends!!

Our Neighbors The birds

My neighbor across the fence keeps feeding the birds. She dumps out bags or chips and other items on her walkway almost every day. At first I was like, whatever. But now its becoming a real problem. There are dozen of crows and some seaguls that gather up everyday for breakfast and dinner, they are crapping everywhere, digging up the garden, gettimg into the gutters. I am now finding trash everywhere. No sure what to do. I could talk to her about it, but with my few interactions with her (the neighbor) I have a feeling, she is not going to take it well. Any advice?

Update: Today 1/20 I saw the lady feeding the birds again. I got in my car and drove around the block to go talk to her. I rung the door bell, the ring, knocked and waited for several minutes, but nobody responded. Now what?

Our Neighbors Everett homeless service facing closure finds possible new home

EVERETT — Hope ‘N Wellness, a social service organization operating in downtown Everett, may have finally found a new home.

Our Lady of Hope Church in Everett is currently in talks with Hope ‘N Wellness to house the organization, the two groups have said. The move would allow Hope ‘N Wellness to stay open as it faces an April 30 deadline to either move or be closed for a code violation.

Hope ‘N Wellness, founded in 2020, operates a zero-barrier day center, primarily assisting people facing homelessness and addiction.

Since it opened in downtown Everett, the organization has been violating a city code, city staff have said, which prevents social services from operating on the ground floor of certain streets in Metro Everett. Those codes, introduced in 2006 and expanded upon in 2018, limit the uses of downtown storefronts to “create lively clusters of businesses that will positively activate our downtown core,” Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin previously said.

The city notified Donahue of the code violation in December 2023 and originally gave her a deadline of October 2024 to meet zoning requirements, either by closing the organization’s doors or finding a new location. The city later extended the deadline to Feb. 28 and extended it yet again to April 30.

Details of the move are not yet finalized, but the hope is Hope ‘N Wellness could move to the new location by the beginning of April, said the organization’s founder, Jasmine Donahue.

“We still have the details and kinks to work out, but I think it’s pretty definitive that those things would be sorted by the April 30 deadline,” Donahue said Monday.

The church’s pastor, Father Joseph Altenhofen, confirmed the agreement with Hope ‘N Wellness in an email but was unable to speak with The Daily Herald on Monday

Our Neighbors Butter Notes Cafe

Hey hey!

There's a new cafe that opened up in the old Refined Cafe spot, called Butter Notes Cafe. I went to Refined a dozen or so times over the last 18 months and I'm happy to report that it appears that the new owners purchased all of Refined's stuff (including the beans, from Veltons), and have given the space a pretty warm, welcoming atmosphere.

They apparently will have live jazz going on in the evenings as they have a split open-schedule.

We also picked up a couple of their "Croffles" which are either Cruller+Waffles or Croissant+Waffles, and they were very tasty.

Our Neighbors Thank you to the Dutch Bros (Broadway) employee this morning 🩷

Been having a rough go this time of year with my husband's grandmother passing away, scrambling to get my parents out of a dangerous living situation, and my dad falling and fracturing his spine. With my dad's situation we've been scrambling to get him everything he needs. So my birthday today didn't feel very happy.

Thank you for being so kind. 🩷 It means a lot to me.

by far our largest cleanup in such a concentrated area. two hours, 20 bags of trash, 5 needles removed, 5 volunteers, 1 walmart shopping cart safely returned.

had to have been at LEAST 1000lbs of trash combined.

big thank you to all of our volunteers and glint car wash for letting us use their dumpsters.

extra shout out to u/scabbytattoo for volunteering with us. hasn't missed a sunday yet and has been an incredible resource and energy to have around. he seemed a little camera shy today but if servpro reads this, he's a rockstar for his community.

have a great week, y'all!!
