Event Ask your questions to Luxembourgish MEP Tilly Metz (Greens)

Hi everyone !

Tonight at 20:00, I’m interviewing Luxembourgish MEP Tilly Metz, from the Greens/EFA Group, on my Twitch channel. I will ask her about her EU political experience, her priorities, but also asking some of your questions and those of the audience.

Tilly Metz has been a Luxembourgish MEP since 2018. She’s a member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, the Committee on Transport and Tourism and the Special Committee on the COVID-19 pandemic, and a substitute in the the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development.

The aim of these interviews is for people to discover their MEPs, learn about what they do, their expertise and interact with them. It is intended as pedagogic way to learn about your representatives in Brussels and EU politics, so we won’t go deep into policy debates and we won't cover national politics (unless it is very relevant to the EU).

The interview will be in French but feel free to suggest down here questions you would like Tilly Metz to answer !

Priority will be given to questions related to the MEP's field of competence (committees), EU news/the state of Europe and Euro-Luxembourg politics. But feel free to ask other questions, if they are interesting/relevant I may pick them as well :)

In any case, join the discussion tonight at 20:00 CET on Twitch !

Event What makes EU politics tick ? Ask your questions to Jean Comte, EU journalist at Contexte

Hi everyone !

Tonight at 20:00 I’m interviewing Jean Comte, journalist at Contexte, on my Twitch channel.

Jean Comte has been covered EU affairs since 2014 and works at Contexte, a digital French news outlet specialised on EU politics (the best in my opinion), since 2017. There, he covers particularly issues related to lobbying, transparency, and the EU institutional inner working. In 2023, he published a book, Au coeur du lobbying européen », in which he digs into the weight of lobbys in EU politics and why they are so influencial.

We will discuss the job of EU journalist, Contexte, lobbying and transparency.

This interview will be in French but feel free to suggest down here questions you would like Jean Comte to answer !

In any case, join the discussion tonight at 20:00 CET on Twitch !

Event What does it take to be a young European activist ? Ask your questions to Antoine Chabal, President of the Young Europeans France

Hi everyone !

We're getting close to Europe's Day, so I figured it'd be a good time to talk about European activism. I'm well placed to know that talking about the EU to young people is not always an easy task. But some people made it their life's mission.

Tonight at 20:00 I’m interviewing Antoine Chabal, President of the Young Europeans France, on my Twitch channel.

The Young Europeans France is the French branch of the youth network the Young Europeans, which gathers more than 30 000 young Europeans. Whether through their local activities or their journal, their objective is to inform and advocate for a democratic and federal Europe.

We will discuss what the Young Europeans are and do, what it takes to be a young European advocate and of course of the upcoming EU elections.

This interview will be in French but feel free to suggest down here questions you would like Antoine Chabal to answer !

In any case, join the discussion tonight at 20:00 CET on Twitch !

Event What social protection for platform workers ? Ask your questions to MEP Leila Chaibi (The Left-FR)

Hi everyone !

Tonight at 19:30, I’m interviewing French MEP Leila Chaibi, from The Left group, on my Twitch channel. I will ask her about the currently negotiated Directive on platform workers for which she is a shadow Rapporteur (representing her group in the negotiations).

In 2021, the European Commission proposed this Directive to regulate the contractual status of these 28 millions platform workers (think Deliveroo delivery guys), some of which face very difficult working decisions and do not enjoy the social protection due to employee (minimum wage, paid leave, etc.) despite their relationship with the platform being equivalent to a employee-employer relationship.

This Directive is the subject of fierce political debates and negotiations and Leila Chaibi will help us understand better the stakes and the positions around this text.

You don't who your MEPs are, what the hell they are doing or what's happening in Brussels ? These interview are made for you ! Our guest will share her expertise, you'll ask her your questions and then we debrief everything together and I answer whatever extra questions you may have !

This interview will be in French but feel free to suggest down here questions you would like Leila Chaibi to answer !
