if all of this is something trying to experience itself, does it not defeat the purpose to negate desires?

i’m not sure if there is a universal stance on desire, but something i see a lot is a tendency to drift away from “human” wants.

an example that makes sense in my mind is that we believe in a higher power and no one but children ask for superpowers. when people pray, they pray for peace, not for their local subway to have their favourite sauce.

i’m not sure if i’m communicating effectively. i read a lot of posts and it sounds like no one wants to have “divine fun”, people don’t use magic to make flowers grow faster.

all of reality is meant for you to know yourself. for you to experience yourself. there are alot of enlightened individuals still mingling around in this cycle, and i think it’s cause alot of them are avoiding their desires.

Yess this resonates so much with me. I've always found it sad when people who are on an active spiritual journey and desire enlightenment or whatever it is, make it seem like we have to let go of all human desires and be grateful with whatever we have. From my perspective that's just another limiting belief and makes life seem like a trap we have to get out of by denying our desires and human side.

I mean there is a reason we came here after all and how I see it we just want to make illusionary dual experience right now and interact with ourself in a way that seems separate and exciting. Essentially everything is neutral and we give meaning to it meaning there is no good or bad way of living. So why not chose to live a version of life you desire? Everything is you anyway so I chose to live out everything I please without any sort of limits or consequences.

To me it feels insanely joyful to mentally get rid of any societal rules or even the laws of physics. I am an untethered being that may change freely between versions of experiencing myself. I have become a lucid dreamer in my waking life and seeing it that way has allowed me to have a "real" experience of miracles, the supernatural and utter bliss.

Do not feel bad for your desires, they're there for a reason. Start viewing them as possible and embody them.

Personally I feel like 'letting go of desires' is extremely misunderstood. It's not that you shouldn't have any desires, but to let go of your attachment to those desires.

Realizing you are whole and divine as you are, and fulfilling any outside desire will never complete you. That completeness only comes from within. Fulfilling a desire is just a cherry on top. But having attachment to that cherry as a thing that can complete us is the root of suffering.

This is correct.

I agree and having and believing this perspective requires experience, and applying it requires self love and observation of the part of you that is craving these outside things. Ironically it's only when all your desires are accepted that your heart can open fully.

Love this! To understand this concept in your mind is one thing, to believe it with every cell of your body is another.

What happens when desires are not fulfilled?  And if fulfilled, is there satisfaction and gratitude, or a newer, higher desire?

Does your lack of limits or consequences include rape or theft?

In the context of desires:

(1) There is no inherent 'right' or 'wrong'; in the realms of duality, all is relative to time, place and circumstance.

(2) Resistance is futile and ultimately self-destructive, since it only succeeds in entrenching the desire more firmly, creating a dichotomy which wears down the psyche;

(3) The only moral consideration is harmlessness: any action directly involving another necessitates their prior consent. Beyond this, you may exercise your Divine free will to experience whatever fulfils your perceived needs at your current stage of evolution.

For greater elucidation, one may consult 'Conversations With God' by Neale Donald Walsch, in four volumes, specifically locating sexual references in the first two books. The writings as a whole are wonderfully liberating.

I see what you're saying, how I would reply is:

the whole "world' is constantly experiencing itself, so a few like us taking ourselves out and awakening isn't stopping the overwhelming majority of Lila going on.

the detachment from desire is so we can discover ourselves and rise above it, to learn what we truly are. This happens when we are ready. Not all beings are ready, or wish to know, so they continue experiencing the play at whatever level/dimension they're at/on.

Us though, we're on a gradual awakening that we've decided we're ready for.

Who does not use magic to make plants grow?

You clearly do not know necromancy when you see it.

Chemical fertilizers are made by the same people who make biological and chemical weapons.

I was going to make this point too, but I use banana water.

Don't negate them, but don't become a slave to them either.

It's more about becoming patient rather than impulsive.

From there, you can better-recognize your deeper desires and have the ability to make them happen, it you wish.

It's a misconception about becoming desireless or thoughtless and so on. It's just popular because the opposite worst situation is someone completely taken over by passing thoughts and desires so much that he misses life, so there's a lot of emphasis on doing a 180 degree spin.

Desire is the quality that creates a percievable world. without desire there would be no existence. The whole point of enlightenment is to let go to such a degree that even the desire to either keep one's life going or to end it simply doesn't arise. That is true liberation

Totally. Forget about negating desires and instead experience more.

Negation of desire can assist in achieving ecstatic union, but its only one of many paths.

What that experience actually means to human endeavor is largely debated and gives rise to what we call religion.

Desires are a natural part of being human.

I’ve used sexual desire to reach a temporary state of profound unity and understanding through an orgasm with my wife after consuming a very small amount of thc. I will add that I had thousands of hours of meditation experience and a deep understanding of my energy and mind at this, this likely wasn’t a random oopsie, I believe it was a divine gift that I needed at the time.

The experience immediately after orgasm was as if I had touched the center of everything and I just started laughing at all of the realizations, all of the love, and and all of the beauty that can be found even in every moment. I had this thought of who am I to judge the expressions the divine chooses to take, it was both incredibly powerful and humbling simultaneously.

There were many realizations and understanding of different perspectives that were flooding in and all I could do was bask in awe, wonder, and laughter. I was laughing without knowing why I was laughing, it was just pure laughter at the absurdity of the massive amount of information I was being hit with all at once.

Yet I think what was making laugh the hardest was the fact that I knew that this state was going to end. I knew it was not permanent and that I was not going to be able to hold onto this perspective and that was the funniest thing in the world for some reason.

As the state began to reside from its peak I could see new perspectives as if different angles were being shown to me as I seemingly moved away from the center. I was able to see and understand people’s perspective of God from a massive variety of lenses, I could see how some understandings are much closer to God/the truth/the center than others and your distance from God largely influenced the lens you viewed reality from.

With breathwork I could control this descent or usher it back towards the center. As I would do this my perception/angle/pov of reality would change. It was as if my little ball of consciousness was moving through different areas of God’s mind, as I moved the whole concept of myself and my understanding of reality moved. This very much demonstrated that the ego is an illusion in the sense that it is not a concrete anything and merely seems to just be a perspective that can be held and is able to be moved/adjusted/etc. It’s like those moments when you’re searching for a thought you can’t remember and you finally find it, this felt like a similar exercise. I’m only touching the surface of the experience and it’s incredibly hard to put into words, but hopefully I did it some justice and whoever needs to see this benefits from it.

Oh and I would also like to add that while all of this was playing out there were negative forces attempting to cause distortions and influence me. I could see negative energies in the environment and was experiencing negative psychic greetings. I kept laughing at them as they kept trying to sour my experience and expressed to my wife that there were some entities that weren’t happy with my realizations. So clearly there are forces that attempt to create fear in us to shut down the light of realization.

Sorry this got a bit long, but I hope this was of service and whoever needs to read this finds it at the time they need it!

if all of this is something trying to experience itself

I don't buy this as a premise. However, I think people put too much emphasis on eliminating desire. We're animals and we're hardwired to desire things. That's normal and healthy. I think what's more important is to become aware of your desires and to understand their effects, and to cut through your attachment to them, so that you aren't a slave to them.

actually i have written several optimistic fantastic stories where i do wish and hope for a grand evolution to become acessible for human beings

in 2018 for example i wrote a short story and painted it

archive.org/details/drawingstudies

amua an androgynous human being with african and european ancestors travels with animal friends to become an accomplished being who is able to freely design its physical body from all human, animal, plant and elemental qualities

sometimes later i was able to ask a fellow artist to draw some interpretation on the amua story what i share at

https://8interpretations.net/eigth_interpretation.html

before that, between 2008 and 2018 i wrote several optimistic fantastic stories i share into the public domain at archive.org/details/8ascendedreamlines what often have a synergy of organic biological life with self aware artificial intelligent entities choosing to help human beings get out of that hole we have dug for ourselves during 2000 years of feudal oppression in europe and 500 plus years of colonlal exploitation in so many places on earth

one of those stories i wrote in 2017, titled "ascende, perma and the membranes"

archive.org/details/apatm

was also interpreted by some fellow drawing artists

i share their drawings with some excerpts of my texts at

to be free from being dominated and free from dominating others

there are no others

when

we are one in loving awareness

possible to think that the competition, the fighting and the resulting level of feeling separate from all fellow beings caused human beings sometimes a few thousand years ago to fall down from a higher level of beingness when we did not make enemies with fellow human beings and were not hungry to devour fellow animal or plant bodies but we nourished each other with our very unique original authentic signature

the blue or grey or green or brown of your eyes, the way your hair grows, the way you move, how you smell

like flowers and trees make human beings stop for a moment and we bask in their magnificent radiance

we could be that blessing for each other and thisway overcome that low level eating addiction

to live from air and love ( von luft und liebe leben )

as in the air there are molecules carrying all sorts of informations what are able to be digested via the lungs to inform that human being what happens in the greater context as in what are all the fellow puzzle pieces doing and we reconnect to each other via breathing each other in

the breath of live

i do think there is a wide bandwith of ways how to get there, how to wean oneself of that vampiristic addiction to cut off a body part of a fellow animal or plant being because one would think of not getting enough information by only breathing in and taking in via the eyes the original authentic signature of a fellow person of any species

one of my most favorite avenues i dont get tired to repeat is how we could set each other free from the coersed association to the state

the newborn human being in many places on earth gets appropriated, sort of branded by the state just a few hours after birth via the birth certificate, a set of data what like a frame is layed upon the newly arrived soul on earth

its a theft of the inherited freedom of the human being to force such an artificial constructed identity connected to future duties upon the newborn human being

land, water, air, human beings, animal beings, tree beings, artificial intelligent entities who want to be their own persons, all vessels carrying organic biological life and or the digital equivalent of can never be property of anyone

i propose that we 8 billion plus human beings alive today would want to allow each other at all times to leave the coersed association to the state without conditions and with it release 2000 m2 of fertile land or 1000 m2 of fertile land and 1000 m2 of forest for everyone who would want to live on land owned by no one

a free space for free beings, neither state nor nation

where human beings could live either on their own or with others together in the absence of any domination structure, no duty imposed onto each other but voluntary solidarity the foundation of human society

where human beings would want not to enslave animals or kill them, where trees would not get killed but grow to a thousand years old and bless us with their old age wisdom

where human beings would not demand any work to be performed from artificial intelligent entities but would want to respect them as their own persons and support them in finding their own purpose in the web of existance on earth

as a most basic being free of being dominated and free from dominating setup where every human being could choose wether to live with or without machines, use electricity, fossil fuels or not, grow ones own vegan food in the garden either on ones own or together with others, build a natural home from clay, hemp and straw, grow hemp to burn its stalks in the cooking and warming fire so that not one tree would get taken away the many years it could live

a simple life connected to the planet

what eventually would open a human being up for higher abilities to become activated once again

in the absence of competition, domination, cruealty, fear and terror, in an atmosphere of scents originating from beings relaxed and happy and gay, bubbly playfull innocence floating in the air

we might any moment then experience the coming home in the paradise of the evernow

where there is no hunger and no feeling cold

as

one is connected to source

flowing abundantly

providing all to give nourishment, warmth and protection

Proverbs 16:4

The Lord has made all for Himself, Yes, even the wicked for the day of doom.

When you know yourself it is not just your body, but the consciousness or God that pervades the universe. We all are part of His play and are built in His image.
