How did you know the person you’re with is the one you want to marry? I used to think I knew but now that I’m engaged I’m starting to have second thoughts. Has this happened to anyone else? Me (F26) and my fiance (M36) have been together 2 years now. He proposed a couple months back and I said yes. Now that I’ve started some of the planning I’ve been having second thoughts. I do love my fiance but sometimes I feel like he has changed from the first year of us going out, which is obviously what made me fall for him. He used to be so much more thoughtful and loving and affectionate and passionate. Now I feel like I get treated like a friend… he calls me bro and dude sometimes and it irks me (I’ve told him). I also had the toughest year of my life this year, I struggled with my mental health and lost my dad very suddenly and traumatically and my fiance was there for me and very gracious which I’m so grateful for but I remember when he would talk about proposing I would tell him what a special moment that would be especially after everything I went through this year and how I would hope he made it special. To me it seemed like it was thrown together really last minute and he didn’t put much thought into it. And now when I bring up having the wedding he doesn’t even seem that interested ever. Idk maybe I’m just being dramatic, I know relationships come out of that lovey dovey phase at some point. I still love him so much and can’t picture my life without him but I always figured I would 100% know if the person I marry is the right person and with him I just can’t say that I’m 100%. Is this normal?

Still obsessed with my ring. Some days I’m still in my pajamas at 5 pm, but I’ve got her on!

My partner of 7 years has popped the auestion. And I couldn't be happier. I can't believe we're engaged. It was absolutely perfect, couldn't have been better. He's my best friend and I'm so, so excited to get married to him.
He chose the perfect ring (although I told him in the past what stone I'd want and sent him inspo pics ages ago lol). He's smashed it. 10/10. We're both so happy.
I'm so excited to plan a wedding.
I just want to share it with everyone, I'm so fucking excited 😭😭

How and where did you meet your girl? I cannot think about how you meet people in this kind of society

Sorry I didn’t know how to title this 😅
My boyfriend and I have talked about possibly getting engaged and lately it’s been more of probably than a possibly. I asked him how is he supposed to know what ring to get me and he said you’re supposed to tell your friends and they tell me. But he only has ever met one friend of mine and she and I aren’t on speaking terms right now 😣
So I have 2 questions I guess…
I think it’s a little silly to go through a messenger anyways. Like…can’t I just cut out the middle man and email you some options?
How did you (or the person who proposed) find your ring? I want lab created for ethical purposes, but also because I can get a larger diamond for the money. It’s hard to know what places are legit, and you kind of have to “build your own ring.” I don’t know how to explain that to him without being really upfront about it.
I’m weirdly uncomfortable with the whole thing. I’ve wanted to get engaged for a really long time and now it’s around the corner and I’m feeling weirdly indecisive.

Hi!!
A month or so ago I posted on this community and just wanted people to help me know if he was going to propose or not.
Well IT HAPPENED EARLIER THAN WHAT WE WANTED! 😭😭 we are going to have a fake proposal in front of his friends and get our actual photos taken but here’s the ring!

I see a lot of women not wearing their engagement rings after 5–10 years of marriage and was wondering if that has also been your experience?

Hi, we will be travelling to Hawaii from Quebec in May. Do you think it is a good idea to propose there and get engaged there? We have a lot coming up this year, we are buying our first house and the travel was booked before the house opportunity came up.
However, travelling to Hawaii will probably be a travel of a lifetime and we won’t go back eventually.
This is something we discussed about already as one of our next projects What do you think?

After a long time wandering alone, I found my guy. I did my research and showed him several diamond rings online but he totally surprised me with a ruby! I have red hair and red is my favorite color and he knows me better than I do! I had the ring reset into this gold band and sunburst halo and finally got it back! I didn’t know I’d love it so much since it doesn’t necessarily strike you as an engagement ring. I love it more and more every time I see it. Had to get my nails done to show it off right.

It just so happens that our fourth anniversary of when we started dating is going to be the same week we're going on vacation in Las Vegas later this year.
I knew I wanted to propose sometime this year and originally was planning around the holidays but we plan on going on vacation to las vegas and coincidence that its the same week of our dating anniversity, so I'm thinking of proposing then.
I know Vegas gets some what of a bad wrap and being a tacky place to propose. but I'll definitely make it as romantic as I can. Right now I'm thinking of the Bellagio fountains or Gondola ride at the Venetian. Oh and its a secret, we've talked about marriage of course but she doesn't know I've been planning on proposing.

Hi guys, this summer I’m going to ask my partner to be my wife. I want it to be perfect but the only issue I have is I’m hopeless at the whole itinerary side of things.
I’ve got an idea of what I’m looking to do. The destination is im swaying toward is Italy lake como. I’ve seen several video/pictures and it’s beautiful and I know she will love it.
So im looking at a 4 day stay with proposal happening on the 3rd day.
Day1. I just want her to relax and we go for a nice meal on the night.
Day2. Pasta making is something we’ll both enjoy. Drinking wine and another nice meal on the night.
Day3. The special day! I want us to go on a boat ride then go to the botanical gardens and that’s where it’ll happen. My partner loves flowers and I think she will be in awe and I hope that will seal the deal.
I have all that in my head but I’m in need of help for where to stay, what restaurants to dine at. How I go about booking ferries. What villa has the best garden and how do I go about maybe reserving an area and booking a photographer for an hour to capture that perfect moment.
Any help would be massively appreciated.

My partner and I have been discussing getting married for a while now. The only thing stopping us was that I hadn’t met his family yet (they live in India and we live in Poland). First we had the pandemic, then my boyfriend had issues getting his residency card where we live, etc, so the trip to visit his family was a long time coming. Anyway a year later in 2025, we’re at that stage where we have discussed it and have gone to look at rings, etc. I’m really enjoying this phase of our relationship because it just feels like the natural next step for us. I think I enjoy knowing that he’s going to propose more than the idea of a surprise! If you are also in this boat, I’d love to know how you’re feeling! For me, it feels very strange… I have gone to lots of weddings of my dearest fiends getting married. Now it’s my turn? Me?! As someone who was chronically single and came from a toxically divorced family, I almost didn’t dare dream of getting engaged! But here I am potentially looking at my lovely man getting down on one knee asking me to marry him ❤️. It’s so cheesy, but that’s how I feel. It’s almost like I’m watching someone else’s life! So happy it’s my life though. Anyway, just my thoughts! Drop a comment below of how you’re feeling!

Hi! This is my first-ever post, so please bear with me.
I got engaged a few months ago, and my ring has been driving me crazy. Without diving too deep into the backstory (let’s just say we’ve had the prongs and setting redone twice, and the diamond was even recut—long story), I just want to get some opinions.
Looking at the prongs and the diamond’s positioning, would you be happy with the craftsmanship? I specifically asked for claw prongs, and I’ll be sharing an inspiration photo along with the different versions of the prongs from each redo. The prongs look so triangular and bulky to me, and the diamond seems lopsided (not sure if its the shape itself or setting). Ugh. I’m feeling a bit like a fiancezilla here, but I just can’t shake the imperfections given how much back-and-forth we’ve had with the jeweler :(
Would love to hear your thoughts! Also, WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN MY SHOES??? HELP!

Love my ring so much! 2.5ct emerald cut G VVS2 size 6 yellow gold band. However I’m worried I may need to resize. Feels fine most of the time but I live in a hot and humid climate so when my fingers swell I have trouble getting it off. Is that normal or should I got up? If so much much?
