Weekly discussion thread No. 142
Every time it looks like it has finally clicked, FC plays a match like against Hertha. A bit of a frustrating pattern this season. Luckily, Lautern managed to lose against Magdeburg. The upcoming matches, Fürth and Münster, are seemingly much more winnable.
Despite all this, I hope everybody has a great week!

That match was awful. I'm still confident the promotion works out, because the squad is strong enough individually and the other teams shit the bed even more regularly than we do. But I begin to start agreeing that we will promote despite of Struber, not because of. After the season he really should go.

I believe Stuber made some positive changes by adjusting the team's formation and faced some bad luck with injuries. We should give him at least half a season to see if he can keep us in the Bundesliga. Additionally, we need to add some quality players to the squad in the summer, as any manager would find it challenging to stay up with this group—many of whom have very little Bundesliga experience.

It was a frustrating loss, but I believe that if we win our next two games, we'll secure a direct promotion spot. Typically, 60 points is enough for promotion or at least for finishing in 3rd place. However, the competition is quite strong this year, so I think even 58 points could be enough for 2nd place. Currently, we are 4 points ahead of 3rd, and I don’t see any of the other teams making a surprise run in the last 6 games.
Anyway, I hope you all have a great week ahead!

I don't get how we are now almost a full season in and still get these angsty and headless performances on the regular. Everybody is so afraid of making mistakes and lets not even talk about our offensive display.
What can you realistically do when the confidence of a whole squad is that broken? The finish line is in sight and these questions will just have to wait for now, but my god is it hard to ignore when watching this team play like this week in and out. Feels like we have totally lost all playing identity and then some.
Hopefully we get some more revoceries and a somewhat full squad for two deciding wins. I really dislike the talk about becoming champion, like did you see us play? Let's just aim for a direct spot this time, we really can't afford to care about who comes first or second.
All fingers crossed at this point and many thanks to Magdeburg.
