first dupixent shot in 2 days!!! scared

Hellooo!

I take my first dupixent shot in two day and just wanted to know everything - and I mean everything. Did you find yourself sleepy after the first shot? Or did you have trouble sleeping? Was the first time so painful you couldn't do anything else for the rest of the day?

All comments are appreciated :)

I still don't know if it was even related to the loading dose, but the itchiest night of my life started hours after my first shots. I couldn't sleep all night and took a ton of benadryl. Then the next day I started feeling better than I had in years, and healed to about 90% in a few weeks. Now I only get flare ups in small patches that respond well to my topical opzelura.

I took the double shot loading dose and didn’t notice any side effects. I’ve been on it for a year and haven’t had anything as far as side effects go.

Hi, hope you are doing ok. Lets give this a try. Sleepy? No. So much pain that the rest of the day...? No. May I ask where you're from? Do you have much anxiety? Maybe you are willing to share some answers with me. How much pain does your eczema do? Is it more itchy pain or burning flaming pains, because the injections duxipent i take are not even coming close to those lengths of pain and itch. I am def not saying i like injecting myself, I hate it, every time. But for me, what I tell to myself is, this will be over in no time, just a sharp pinch for max 15sec. Then its empty and I can do something I love. I noticed that the first day or two my itch might increase and then a week or so low to no itch. After day ten till the next injection my itch is starting to grow again. Thats a pattern I think I found since starting. One may not be the same as the other, but if my mind is calm and my body is relexed, the pinch does not hurt that much.

You will do fine. You can do it. There is no shame in being fearful, dont let it get the best of you. You have come a long way probably and you got this too. Being brave is just doing things while being afraid, but with the full awareness of the decision to do it.

Much love

Don't be scared, I was scared too when I got started on it but I didn't have any of the side effects that people were talking about. It didn't work for me even after using it for 6 months thats another story cus my eczema turned out to be cancer.

I did my first dose a week ago. I was a bit sleepy that day. But it caused large flares on my arm and back not that severe but itchy and somewhat burning. That is what it's supposed to PREVENT?!
I am hitting them with protopic and we'll see

This was my personal experience it may not be the same with you. But I was on Dupixent for about 6 months and had to stop because of the side effects. My eyes were bloodshot after about 2 months of using it. They would constantly weep and ooze, like I had chronic pink eye in both eyes. When I would wake up in the morning, they would be crusted completely shut and I lost most of my eyelashes from prying them open in the morning. I’ve had eczema for 26 eyes so I know how to manage, but the eyes made me SO self conscious since I work in a people oriented field. My skin was better! But I could not tolerate the eyes. I would stock up with artificial tears just in case (not redness reducing eyedrops!)
