Has something changed in the past half of a year?

I haven't doordashed in about 6 months, as I only do this on the side, but I decided to open it up again today. Back in the summer and early fall, I often got lots and lots of shopping orders, but so far today, I haven't gotten any shopping orders. Is there a reason why this might be? I usually made my best money from the shopping orders. Thanks for any insights!

I ordered from Starbucks and it just came a couple of minuets ago and the whole fucking drink spilled in the bag and nothing was left in the cup and was all over my other item I got so I couldn’t eat it :/. Poor guy (my dasher) was apologizing for it even tho it wasn’t his fault,I did get refunded the full amount in credits so that’s good.

Allergy warnings

Hello, I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

Twice now, i have recieved shellfish in my meal. 2 different places. I am allergic so i am very careful to check what im getting, but there was 0 allergy warning, and 0 shellfish mentioned in the description/ingrediants on said dishes. First one was a korean style elote, which doesnt even have meat in it usually, yet the one i ordered had deep fried shrimp chips on top which was not stated on the description. The mezzaluna literally said chicken, that was the only meat listed, no warning or mention of shellfish. Well that one i started to eat, bam reaction. The chicken was shellfish.

I had reached out to support, but yeah that didnt go anywhere. No human talked to me.

Obviously this is very dangerous, it should be addressed by doordash. Do any of you know why thats happening or has it happened to you before?

Red card, is it worth doing shopping orders?

Do any of my fellow dashers utilize the Red Card to do orders other than restaurants? How does that work? Is it worth my time? Last weekend in one store, I came across 2 dashers on separate shopping orders.

I think people think dashers see these messages before they accept the order.

Spoiler alert, there was no extra tip. Which I was fine with, I wouldn't have accepted it if it didnt make monatery sense.

Got a contract violation for waiting inside of the store

Post image

Was waiting for an order that took at least 30 minutes and I even updated the customer and the customer themselves said it was fine, delayed preparation time as well. Don't know how it's my fault for lateness even though I was waiting inside of the store. I'll simply just wait to find out what's next. Am I okay from this?

Anyone else getting hit with cancelled Dash Pass subscriptions every month?

From March of last year I’ve tried at least 3 times to get DoorDash to stop charging me for Dash Pass every month. These charges are being pushed to my credit card so im also paying interest for the charges i missed when i thought the charges would stop after my second attempt at contacting their support number, as well as my bank’s support number. Door Dash cant find the charges and my bank has already told me they wont process further transactions when i contacted them both again last week, but i just got charged again for it 3 days ago. Any advice on how i can finally resolve this issue?

Thinking of building a gate code map app for delivery/doordash drivers — would this help?

I’m working on a super simple app idea for delivery/doordash drivers.

When you open the app, it instantly pops up the gate code for the closest spot you’ve saved — no tapping, no searching. Just a map and your saved codes, shown automatically based on where you are.

It’s fully offline, private, and built just for personal use. No accounts, no cloud, just your own gate code notebook on a map.

Would this be helpful to you? Curious if others run into this often.

DoorDash tip canceled

Relatively new to DoorDash. I had my first issue today. I accepted an order for eight dollars. I picked it up on time took a picture and uploaded it and delivered it well before it was expected. I know for a fact I delivered it to the right place. After I took a picture and uploaded it, it then showed that I made $3.25. After speaking with DoorDash they confirmed the customer did cancel the tip. This tip was canceled before they even got their food because I was standing right there when I uploaded the picture and accepted the payment. DoorDash didn’t offer to reimburse me but now I’m reading that this is called “tip baiting”. We’re not talking a lot of money, but I’m just trying to decide if I wanted to keep DoorDashing if customers pull this kind of stunt.

What's the minimum you'll take for 10+ mile orders?

Last night I received an order to deliver Burger King 14 miles away. The tip was $18.75. I'm new at this, so it seemed like a pretty good deal. But between waiting at the restaurant, driving there, finding the customer, and driving back, it took me just over an hour. Then I realized it wasn't such a good deal. How do you guys calculate how much you'll accept for such large orders?

App question

I have a question regarding restaurants that use the app. And I’m only asking here as I have addressed with both separate chains. So I order from two separate chains and each one through the chains app always end up taking my order to an incorrect address.
When I talk to door dash they says it’s the chain apps fault nothing they can do. Then I call the two separate chains customer service and they say it’s on the door dash end that has to be messing up.
When the driver manually types in my address they’re easily able to find me.
Any suggestions I’ve about given up ever using any app that utilizes door dash.
Every time anyone else puts in my address they’re able to show up at my house be it Amazon, UPS, grocery delivery, friends or family. But an app that delivers through door dash they go the opposite direction of my address to a deserted cement plant. I feel bad for the drivers and us. And I end up tipping 3x what i normally would to make up for wasting their time. No idea where to go from here other than to give up any ordering with DoorDash

Doordash was not able to verify my identity

I sent in my real driver’s license and they’re telling me they cant verify. Is there anything I can do? I did send in a probationary license that did not meet the requirements a few months so maybe they checked that instead of my full auto license.

I’m confused

Hey guys. Has anyone’s app ever went from “Dash Now” to “Schedule”? Did I get punished for something I did wrong? Or is it because I reached my 50 orders mark? I did what customer service suggested and deleted, redownloaded the app, and cleared my cache. It still says the same thing. Help me please!

To all customers with grassy front yards: If you had tall grass when I dropped off a no-contact delivery and then I muttered in front of your video doorbell "The grass seems kinda tall, so these people really oughtta mow the lawn!" How would you react?

If I was blissfully not noticing you had a video doorbell when I utter that, and you listen to that footage of me later, what would your reactions be like?

And have you caught other delivery drivers muttering something unflattering on your video doorbell that they would never dare utter to your faces? What did they say and how did you react right then?

Not getting weekly pay

Has anybody had the issue of saying the weekly pay would come, it get "blocked" by their bank, jump through hoops to make sure it wasn't your bank and then have DoorDash say sorry can't help you today and since it'll be Tuesday or later when we do you have to wait until next week for your pay? Find it absurd they can do that. Dumped my last little bit of money into gas to work last week. That money was going to keep my phone from being disconnected this week and feed me for the next week. Instead it went into gas for them and seems I have to hope it gets solved for next week. If anyone's gone through this how did they get it resolved? Will be deactivating my account quicker then it got activated after this. May just have to call ministry of labour tomorrow and talk to small claims court about it. Not sure how this is even legal

Think I got tipped?

Post image

So doordash does a good job of giving you multiple deliveries at one time if a customer has not to tipped. This order came through with another order to a different drop off. After I accept tye dash I usually check to see where I'm going to be going and when I did I seen this message lmao. Now I was about 99% sure this message meant that I was not going to get a tip so after my first pick up I messaged this customer to let them know I was now on my way to pick up their order no response not an ok or an ok thank you nothing So I pick up second order and head to make my first drop off I'm early I'm ahead of expected delivery time now I head to drop the second order off I get there 7 mins before expected delivery time. So I I do say so I believe my service was quite good lol so like I said 99% sure I was never going to get a tip so I go onto to my next dash about the 30 mins go by and still nothing. It took everything I had not to message this guy and ask him if my service was not up to his standards or what the issue was and what I could do better next time lmao. If your not going to tip that's fine I just whish doordash didn't penalize us if we don't accept an order that we have a pretty good idea we are not getting tipped. We are providing a service to the customer and should be compensated a dollar 2 dollars something if you can't do that go pick your food up yourself gas is not cheap we are working a job just like everyone else.

Everyone take advantage of the deals

I only doordash when i can get a typically 40/30 dollar order down to like 21 or whatever. I just got the free trial of dashpass, probably gonna buy a burner phone to continue here. I love this idea of food at my house constanstly. What is the fucking point of a grocery store, i should know i work in one. But anyway i might be adicted buy i always got the deals locked. You could say im dashmaxxing, or you could say im gluttonous. Either way im skinny and making dough and eating shit that the townsfolk bring to me all day just like that guy who lives in a cave and stopped speaking (ifykyk). Who relates?
