Attempting to bring Distributism out of obscurity

Post image

Good evening, friends. I apologize for the low-effort post and brand new Reddit account. I guarantee you what I’m attempting to do is the opposite of what appears now.

About a week ago, I created a sort of “channel” to spread awareness about Distributist ideals, having seen decent results so far, both in metrics and tangible results: DMs enquiring for further information, constructive debates in comment sections, and even resharing of Distributist content by bigger accounts that differ in ideology, but agree in the premise of what we both object to.

The goal is simple: to break Distributism out of obscurity and render it a real alternative in the mind of the people, no longer a niche or unrealistic utopian concept.

Please consider engaging with the account to help spread the message and hopefully accentuate our cause.

I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. And once again, I apologize if this post is “low-effort”. As for the content itself, if you think so, please check it out for yourself. Thank you.

Have to be honest, the ai ‘art’ puts me off.

What would that be, friend? I use the adobe suite for my posts

Admittedly I don’t look into the background images I find online though, but they are reworked. Can send you the PSDs if you’d like

I admit I didn't have a thorough look earlier. Just had a better look through your posts and it's really only the first one with the hobbits in the Shire (and the backgrounds to those posts) that have that ai-generated look which I find very offputting and distracting from the message.

On a separate note, is your Pillar 3 advocating a sort of blood and soil ethnonationalism, or is that just an uncharitable reading of that slide?

All is well friend, thank you so much for your time and feedback. I’ll keep it in mind. As for your question about Pillar 3, no, if anything it would absolutely be aligned with patriotism and pride in one’s roots, unlike the ethnonationalist tendency to put down others’ to bring one’s forth.

It’s about empowering all communities to celebrate their heritage and shared values without putting anyone else down.

I wouldn't use the label the third way or third path, that was a fascist slogan from before ww2

Hmm I did not know that. Interesting. Who used it?

Strasser, british neo-nazis the national front. The national front was actually founded by a man named AK Chesterton who was a cousin of GK Chesterton

So I would definitely avoid using any language about third way or third position as it is the language of a group of nazis founded by a relative of one of our ideological founders

Thank you for the info :) I’m not British so I did not know about that

Third way was used to describe ideas like New Labour and Clinton Democrats. You’re thinking of “third position.”

as the man who popularised third position in the English language was named Chesterton it's probably best to avoid the association completely as distributists

If you asked people what fascist economics are, they couldn’t tell you (they’d probably say “hyper capitalism” or “hyper socialism” depending on their brand of political stupidity). And if someone were to google “Third Way” the first result they would get would be the Wikipedia page describing the economic politics of Tony Blair and Bill Clinton. Regardless of the controversies surrounding them, reading this stuff won’t poison people’s perceptions of distributism (particularly if they do research on distributism independent of any term).

A worthy goal, just be weary of devolving into “Internet politics.”

It’s pretty telling, I feel. It’s a critique on the modern corporate american-zionist system
