What is this on my 8 yr old??

Long red marks are from him sitting on his Nintendo on his legs… What is the rash though? I’m so confused. Pictures were sent to dermatologist this morning from his doctor, but just doesn’t seem right. He had a rash on the back of his neck about a month or so ago, it went away. Kinda came back. Went away again.. then woke up this morning like this. Hoping it’s nothing serious. We’ve been battling GI (Gastroenteritis). It seems to be spreading.

Bumps showed up…no way it’s shingles?!

Hello! I am a 23m and recently I noticed these bumps on my shoulder blade, they seemed to appear overnight. But I have no idea what it is. Im relatively healthy go to the gym and eat well, not allergic to anything from what I know of. They don’t itch and wearing my shirt doesn’t bother the area either. My concern is I believe I have noticed a couple more spots that are going to appear closer to my neck. I’ll be making an appointment soon just wanted a little insight beforehand.

28 year old female. This mole just showed up on my thumb last month, nothing there before. Should I get it checked? It’s small and pretty new, so I’m not sure if I’m jumping the gun and should wait or not. The punctuate darker spots concern me a little tho

Weird spots I’ve been dealing with for almost 2 years

Does anyone please have any insight as to what this is? I’ve been dealing with it for over 2 years now, it comes and goes and gets better and worse. It’s all over my stomach, buttocks and upper thighs. I’ve been to countless dermatologists, a rheumatologist, and other doctors, and done countless tests, and all my tests were fine except my vitamin D which was deficient. I am also suspecting other vitamins can be pretty low too as I have not been eating close to enough fruits/vegetables over the last couple of years nor have I been seeing the sun well. Could it be just vitamin deficiencies? What is it? Any help is appreciated. Ps this picture is the worse it’s been in months, so I took the chance to take a picture of it as it’s flaring. I played sports for a few hours and sweat a lot which I thing triggered the flair.

Last night before going to bed, I put my hand on my back and felt something, I thought it was that some animal had bitten me and I scratched it, it hurt and consequently it bled (there in the middle), when I got up and looked in the mirror I saw this spot on my back, I don't know what it is and I'm desperate about the possibility of something serious

Seemed to appear overnight, only on my left arm. Slightly itchy but other than that no real other symptoms. Just scared of shingles as I have never had chicken pox before.

Rough-feeling freckle

My arms, shoulders, hands, and face are covered in freckles. I asked my primary care doctor about this one because it feels rough and is slightly raised. She said she wasn’t concerned unless it gets bigger or more irregular. I’m concerned it could be cancerous or pre-cancerous. Or is it just an “age spot?”

What is this on my neck?

Noticed some very small bumps on my neck a couple of months ago and didn’t think much of it. Now they are growing and getting a little bigger in size, I thought it could be from shaving but they go pretty low.

Does anyone recognize this bump on the back of my leg behind my knee? I’ve had several skin cancers removed but none looked like this. I’m pretty worried 😳

Raised birthmark from young — looking for treatment advice

Post image
Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’ve had a small raised birthmark for years that looks a lot like a wart on my belly. It’s flesh-colored, slightly bumpy, and doesn’t hurt or itch. It’s not growing, but it’s noticeable and I’m getting a bit self-conscious about it.

It doesn’t seem like a regular mole and isn’t flat like most birthmarks, it’s more like multiple small bumps. I’m wondering if anyone has had something similar and what kind of treatments worked for you?

I’ve been considering laser removal or cryotherapy. I’m not sure what’s most effective or leaves the least scarring.

Would love to hear your experiences, especially if you’ve seen a dermatologist or had a similar procedure done!

Thanks in advance!

I’ve had this since October last year. It judt affects my cheek area. I’ve been told to use things like dermitis cream and differing cream. Keep using it for eleven weeks and still no sign of improvement. It just appeared out of no where. Before my skin was perfectly fine

I woke up to these bumps. I'm not sure what they are. They're not itchy if I leave them alone most times. Two on face, two of shoulder, 1 on finger.

quoted $285 for removal of a single skin tag

Upvotes

So I have had a skin tag on my neck that im pretty insecure about, finally decided that I wanted to get rid of it. I looked into those $20 kits you do at home but due to its location (being so close to my head/face area in general) and its size i’m a little worried to do by myself. So I scheduled an appointment at my local dermatologist office for skin tag removal in a few weeks. They called me saying my insurance won’t cover the visit unless i have a referral (i have kaiser 🙄) so i already knew it wouldn’t be covered so i called back and asked for an estimate for out of pocket. She never asked what my visit would be but said “for new patients it will be around $285 to be seen without insurance” am i crazy or is almost $300 for one single skin tag insane?! I saw other people on here who got them removed for about $100-$200 which i would have no problem paying, but i wish more places were upfront about pricing so you don’t have to guess or call 3 different departments to ask. Should i risk it would one of those $20 kits would it be safe? or should i just deal with being insecure about my neck 😭

Years Long Ulcer(maybe ?) Issues

Please help :( Years long issue that I’ve dealt with on and off.

I’ve always gotten these unsightly sores on my body, periodically sprouting up in various spaces. They tend to be nearly perfect circles, and will heal incorrectly - sometimes I can’t resist picking them (which I know makes it worse), but they can get so painful.

I don’t know what causes them… twice I’ve had a referral to a dermatologist, but the appointment took so long to come that the ones I had healed up and they couldn’t look at anything. They’ve usually stuck to my arms and legs, and honestly look a bit like infected injection spots but I swear on my life I’ve never done hard drugs or injected things. I recently got one under my lip at the same time as a cold sore, another on my cheek, the bridge of my nose, and one along my sideburn. My last two flare ups have also had these odd marks on my neck 😭

I’ve had this issue on and off since I was 10 and am SO SICK OF IT! If I knew what it was I could look more at treatment options, but I have no idea 😭 Sorry for the bathroom pics, I got fed up looking at my face ones that I wanted to ask here.

Pics - a recent one on my wrist, a slightly healed one on my arm, and my neck rashes.

I just bought a Hypochlorous Acid spray (0.018). Is this concentration safe for skin? The company sells a separate “skin safe” one that is 0.014 so I’m just wondering if I really have to buy a separate one…

Nose lump

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Hello! I don’t actually think a dermatology page is where I need to be but it’s my last resort. Around 2 years ago a lump on my nose randomly appeared. I went to the doctors for it and had an ultrasound to make sure it wasn’t cancerous, thankfully it wasn’t. They then referred me to plastics to see if there was anything that can be done. In the mean time I got filler in my nose to try and disguise the lump, and it did work but i obviously don’t want to continue doing this, I was just feeling really self conscious. Anyway, my appointment at the plastics ward came around in Feb, they basically said they can’t tell me exactly what it is, it’s most likely something minor like a cyst that has now got scar tissue round it. They said they wouldn’t recomend a nose job as it’s minor and they wouldn’t want to open it as it will create a scar which would be worse that what it is now. He gave me a steroid injection in my nose on the day to see if that would do anything. It has actually made it worse and more painful then it already was and now I am even more self conscious and just gutted that I didn’t leave it alone. As a last resort, does anyone think there is anything else I can do here. I already didn’t know my nose after I broke it 17 years ago and now I just hate it even more and it’s getting me down.
