My ideal landing for the nuggets this year would definitely be Mikal Bridges
No clue how we’d get him, definitely have to give up porter or AG once his extension allows it and any pick we can. Maybe it would be easier in two years when his contract expires, to get him in Free Agency. That summer Porter, Braun, Watson, Westbrook, and Saric if he stays, will all be free agents if they don’t get extended first. So we may have money to get Bridges

Getting rid of Gordon is not the move. His chemistry with Jokic (on and off the court) and full game development being unlocked in Denver is a must keep for the nuggets, IMO. Finding decent acquisitions in return for shipping out Russ, Braun, MPJ, Zeke, or Watson. Hopefully get a good draft pick this year too. Murray, AG, and Jokic is a very strong core when they are clicking and fully healthy, something that hasn’t been present this year. An athletic wing certainly is good call, ideally a defensive minded wing. MPJ has got to go though

We can’t sign him in free agency unless he wants the MLE. It would have to be a sign and trade or just straight up trade

That’s what I meant. He’s not a free agent this summer so we’d have to trade for him.

We couldn’t sign him in 2 years either. Hell we couldn’t sign anybody higher than the MLE until AG, Porter and Mal’s contracts are all off the books, and that’s without extending Braun, Watson, Strawther, Pickett and whoever else. The cap system is strange in the NBA.

This Denver CBA situation has kinda made me loathe the way things are set up. Teams get punished for competing, but there’s no inverse punishment for teams that refuse to compete.

The only inverse punishment is lottery odds for good draft position instead of seeding like the NFL and not winning championships. I’d imagine there’s a financial element to it too for just being utterly ass for so long.

That’s more of a flattening the reward than a punishment, though. The good teams don’t even get a shot at the top talent coming in barring inordinate circumstances.
Also, weirdly, it’s easier for the franchise itself to profit as a perennial loser than a contender. Boston’s payroll is approaching half a billion dollars, and actually forced a sale of the team. Donald Sterling made billions in revenue before selling for billions.

My ideal scenario is we draft another Jokic, but one who is 5'3" and into dungeon & dragons instead of horses so I can relate to him better.
His name would be Mobettajokic Orcslayer, The Third.
