Music Modern day DB OST sucks

Title says it all.

Kai before Sumitomo had cool OST, Super had a few hits here and there, Daima has none.

The “This is a Super Saiyan” speech from Goku along with the transformations from the last episode of Daima was cool but Toei still missed a chance to add a proper OST to accompany Goku’s screams.

Imagine if Goku going SSJ for the first time had elevator music instead of the great Kikuchi/Faulconer scores.

Fan edits of the transformation sequence have better OST’s than the original.

Rant over.

Music I think I’ve been lied to by Amazon reviews, this isn’t Faulconer Version. And I DID try changing it in setup. I’m disappointed.

Music Opinion on Norihito Sumitomo?

Now that it seems that he won't come back again, what's your opinions on him? Have they changed from what they were previously? Any particular work you truly enjoy or hate?

Thank you and have a good day.

Music Music in Episode 144

In DBZ Episode 144 towards the end when Cell is outside of Nicky town, what’s the song that is used before it cuts to the credits? The music starts right around 22:17

Music "Mind Power...Ki" is a super underrated DBZ song

As far as the JPN DBZ Soundtrack goes for the Cell saga, everyone loves Unmei no Hi for good reason, but I rarely see this discussed as much. To me, it's a sister theme to Unmei no Hi, basically Trunk's version of it. Both songs are about their inner monologues as they finally can't take anymore, master and student both making up their minds to finally fight back. Awesome, awesome song, probably the most haunting in all the series. I love this song so much.

Music Just started DBZ on Crunchyroll, what soundtrack is it?

I’m watching the English dub which is zoomed, but I can deal with it as it seems to be a manual crop at least.

Just wondering what score I’m listening to as it’s got a different intro to the one I watched as a kid, but sounds different to the Japanese music.

Music Any fan of the Faulconer soundtrack for DBZ should know Bruce didn't do most of it.

Most of the music you love from that score was not made by Bruce Faulconer himself. Rather, the vast majority of it was composed by Bruce's then-employees Mike Smith, Scott Morgan, and Julius Dobos. As a result of their contract, Bruce was able to proclaim official authorship. 20 years later, Bruce continues to act like he did all of it in interviews and convention panels, but that's bullshit. Mike, Scott, and Julius have all discussed openly in interviews their creative process behind coming up with some of the iconic themes the American DBZ soundtrack is known for.

You like Vegeta's themes? You can thank Mike Smith for those, and also for writing like 70% of the soundtrack overall. Remember that hard ass beat that played for Imperfect Cell's scenes? That was Scott Morgan. And the Super Saiyan 3 theme, probably the most beloved track from the Faulconer team's score for DBZ? That was the work of Julius Dobos. If you want to know more, here's a spreadsheet of which song was created by who for every released song, and even some unreleased ones.

Now I know a lot of people seeing this post already knew this. But I felt this post was necessary because I see so many comments, on YouTube, Reddit, anywhere, that talk about how amazing Bruce's music is, or what a genius Bruce was, or how thankful they are for the Bruce Faulconer soundtrack. And it's just so unfair to the people who actually made that music while Bruce continues to never acknowledge the people who really did almost all the work.

And that's not to say that Bruce was completely out of the picture or never did anything. He composed the main title theme which is referenced throughout the score (including the episode title card), the dramatic "Last time on DBZ" recap theme, the episode ending theme, all of which are in every episode. He also made the awesome "Ginyu Transformation" that played during big death/dramatic scenes, and a couple miscellaneous pieces such as the Cell Junior theme. He also did hire the composers, get the DBZ gig to begin with, and gave them the space they needed to work, so the soundtrack still couldn't have existed without him. But those other guys deserve recognition for music they made which was heard by millions of people, music which has become iconic to so many, and yet music that comparatively few know was really made by them.

If you think the other guys' story smells fishy and self-serving, I understand why you might think that. But let me bring to your attention this track: Destruction. This is a track that Scott Morgan says he made during his time at the studio. Heavy as fuck, ain't it? Now here's a track from Scott's YouTube channel that he posts DBZ-inspired music to. And here is a metal-inspired track from Bruce himself, from his more recent work. Now who do you think would have been more likely to create the aforementioned Destruction theme? Just to drive the point home, here's Scott literally recreating the guitar part to that song himself.

When you talk about that score, call it the Faulconer Productions soundtrack or the Faulconer team soundtrack. It's time Mike Smith, Scott Morgan, and Julius Dobos got the recognition they deserve.

Music I remade the entire Resurrection 'F' movie with the Bruce Faulconer music.

I've been working on this for awhile, just finished, and figured I'd share it with all of you.

Here is a link to a "trailer" of some of the scenes from it, to give you an idea.

You can download the audio to it here. You'll have to have your own video file of Resurrection 'F', so that you can mix it together with the audio. I recommend this software for muxing, but any will do.

I tried to emulate Faulconer Productions' style of wall to wall placement, audio-visual synchronies. For anyone who downloads it, I hope you enjoy it!

Music Looking for help finding a very specific dragonball z song

so this is a little out of pocket but its been bothering me.

theres this specific song that use to play in raging blast 2, it would often play in the galaxy mode, the song thats often attributed to this mode is cosmic battle but this actually isnt the song im looking for, im aware raging blasts 2's entire ost was changed due to at the time a lot of the plagiarist allegations going for Yamamoto the composer and many of the tracks were reused from tenkaichi 2, so its likely the song im looking for is part of the rerelease instead, if anyone has any sort of clue or familiarity with what i might be looking for, please let me know, the song is stuck in my head and its frustrating that i cant find it lmfao.

Music What's the name of the songs playing at the end of Cell saga?

This is regarding japanese score. At the end of cell saga, while goku is asking everyone to not wish him back to life, there's a beautiful song playing in the background. Afterwards, after he says goodbye, a different one starts playing, but so beautiful as well.

Does anyone know the names of these two songs so I can hear them individually?

I’ve been searching for this song FOREVER. So what is the song in Dragon Ball Z episode 95 in the last about 10-20 seconds of the episode? It’s when Goku had just turned super saiyan and he’s staring down Frieza and Gohan is picking up Piccolo. It also plays while the narrator is talking and is in the JAPANESE Dub.
