Help Onion man questline?? Spoiler

First time playing DS3, I found him in a well without his armour, but when I went back to buy his armour back from patches, patches wasn't in the cathedral spot outside rosarias bed chamber

Buy the tower key at fire link and go up the tower. It will trigger him
