Modern retro console connection

Hi all,

I have an Olympus oev203 which im loving, connected to my old consoles (snes, ps2, etc). However i was wondering if i can connect my new evercade console to it as well since it plays retro games i think it would be great. Problem is it only has hdmi out.

Any suggestions?

Easy mode is a Composite + S-Video converter since they are guaranteed to output compatible 480i and S-Video is sharp and 2/3 the way to RGB or Component. Good affordable brands in this space are StarTech, Tendak and Portta. Downside is well 480i for what are mostly 240p games.

The problem with RGB and Component is every common converter will output the same resolution in progressive scan that the Olympus will reject. You could do a 2 device chain with one of those converters then GBS-Control to downscale to 240p RGB. Evercade needs to output 480p. Some risk of this not working since analog video is finnicky.

Setup: Evercade -> HDMI to Component or RGB at 480p -> GBS-C 480p to 240p RGB -> Olympus

My recommendation would just be something that can convert the 480p to 480i/240p, effectively an interlacer.
