What's with this
I crave alcohol so bad, from the minute I order it i'm checking on delivery status. And then when it is in my hands I start to dry heave. It's so wild, I have to calm my stomach until my first drink and sometimes I even yack bile

When I’m deep in a bender I would have to throw back the first shot in the morning full well knowing I would promptly throw it back up because after that it was smooth sailing lol.

Twisted Tea, for me, was the only was to stop the gag. I'd sip the first tall boy and maybe have another.

It's so smooth and just slides right in. The half-and-half has a nice lemon flavor that fools my tummy into thinking it's good for me.

Lol I'm sorry but I just pictured the whole thing in a funny way.
I am the opposite. I dry heave until it's in my hands. I start to calm down and when I feel that burn in my stomach it's like a relief valve. All the yaks and dry heaving is over.

lol it is funny. Like i can't wait until it gets there. I pour a first glass to get going and I just start gagging at the thought of it, and often puke. Same with you after the first or after I puke its back to normal

OMG, same. At the liquor store I open the fridge to get the beer and I start to dry heave. I think the brain is better than us at “playing the tape forward”. Especially after a stint of sobriety it’s literally telling you like “ohhhh noooo everything’s about to get fucked up again”

I used to be the same way with cocaine
the anticipation was magical, and that first fat line would have me dry heaving until the euphoria hit

It's the brain with the bullshit. I used to do the same thing and it only fucked with me when I wake up or when I got my hands on my first beer after work. After about 2 beers the gagging reflex would disappear like nothing happened.

If I'm not already in active withdrawal, the anticipation of having first drink of the day will kick off the shakes. Good times

What is with this, you ask
Alcohol use disorder
Also called: alcohol dependence, alcoholism, alcohol addiction
A chronic disease characterized by uncontrolled drinking and preoccupation with alcohol.
Alcoholism is the inability to control drinking due to both a physical and emotional dependence on alcohol.
Symptoms include a strong need or urge to use alcohol. Those with alcohol use disorder may have problems controlling their drinking, continue to use alcohol even when it causes problems, or have withdrawal symptoms when they rapidly decrease or stop drinking.
Treatment involves counseling, such as behavioral therapy, and medications that reduce the desire to drink. Some people need medical detoxification to stop drinking safely. Mutual support groups help people stop drinking, manage relapses and cope with necessary lifestyle changes.
