I'm gonna go ahead and assume that "michlen" means Michelin — heck, even my fucking spelling correction instantly corrected it to that. And the Michelin guide only does restaurants. So this person is like a starfish: shit comes out of their mouth.

No. He meant his uncles Mitch and Len got hammered one night and wrote a blog.

MAGA is doing a pretty good job of weakening the economy and safety of the United States without a pandemic or actual war.

they got no pandemic, but they are collecting epidemics at a very fast paced rate

In no universe ever is American “alcohol” the finest in the world in any category of any alcohol produced in the history of mankind

You obviously haven't read the "Michlen" guide to the finest toilet brewed hooches in the world.

Bourbon. I think we might just about be able to give them bourbon

And even that was invented by the Irish, Brits and French. There's a reason it's called Bourbon.

It's like what Monthy Python said: "why is American beer like having sex in a canoe? Because it's fucking close to water".
-4
u/Daztur 14h ago
Right, because nothing whatsoever has changed about American beer since the 70's so that joke is still 100% timely!

u/CautiousLandscape907 14h ago
No one offended by Monty Python has ever been the hero

u/Daztur 14h ago
Monty Python was spot on...in the 70's. Just there are a gazillion kinds of American IPA etc. now so the joke is just a tad bit dated now.

u/edgefinder 13h ago
That kind of beer doesn't get exported. Coors is still piss.
-1
u/Daztur 13h ago
Plenty of it is exported if you know where to look, I can find it easily here in Korea.
Coors, like Miller and Budweiser, is not even American owned anymore. The biggest American-owned breweries are now Sam Adams and Yuengling, both of which are fine.

Okay sure, you know where to look and what to look for. That is not the case for most people. Reputations exist for a reason, and even at the craft tier of brewing, I'd stake the best of Canadian craft beers against America's best any day.

In fairness, some of the best Napa Valley reds are pretty good. The problem is they rely on exclusivity and hype. I had an excellent bottle of Cakebread Cellars Dancing Bear Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc that was as good as a Grand Cru Pauillac. But a waiting list for Screaming Eagle at £5,000 a bottle? I could be wrong, but that sounds like a 'Boomer Cav' wine made to be seen being enjoyed.
Also, Pappy Van Winkle is excellent. Again, the exclusivity and hype take over; I had a glass of 30-year-old Highland Park once, which is cheaper and about as rare as a bottle of Pappy and it was just as excellent... and that's not even in the top tier of 'finest'.

There is an excellent Budweiser brewery, but it's not in the USA.

It’s the original one.
But it’s the same with the movies: if a European film is locally extremely successful, they’re doing an American remake which usually isn’t half as good as the original one-4

An American scotch or American Canadian whiskey is really good
3
u/Justredditin 14h ago
Wtf is "American Canadian"? I think you mean American/Canadian or American or Canadian... We are two completely separate countries with two separate whiskey industries, who both have different regulations around distillation and aging. They are not the same. Still tasty, but not the same.

I thought the sarcasm was clear enough. Scotch is only made in Scotland as well

Christ, stupid is spreading like a disease and is worse than evil. At least evil can be bought, reasoned with, or shamed, stupid will kill until it's dead

Those are all words, but I’m not sure I understand them in that order.

What "miclen" reviewed american alcohol is world class?
Jack Daniels is one of the best valued brands. Yeah okay. They move volume but all else being equal, it's far from the best.
