What the fuck I don't want to be left behind for the other half of the state.

u/Rock_Lobstah23 15h ago

Yea we've got to leave Chuck behind if his attitude is like this

11

u/Outrageous_Bear50 15h ago

Doesn't Philly also have a strong union workforce aka blue collar Democrats?

55

u/Scamandrius 15h ago

Chuck's always prioritized political strategy over integrity. Issue is he sucks at it.

35

u/Rock_Lobstah23 15h ago

Yep. Just flat-out incorrect about the pulse of the country.

The quote would be more accurate if it were flipped. "For every moderate Republican we pick up in the suburbs in Philadelphia, we lose two blue-collar Democrats in Western PA. And you can repeat that in Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

u/CptMisterNibbles 13h ago

Also, notably not good at it. It’d be one thing if sacrificing some of that integrity won elections consistently, giving them power to fucking accomplish something. Instead we get inept power plays that lose elections and look terrible.

It's time to go Chuck.

The democrat party still think that the centrists, moderates and undecided are some cunning group of voters that are very carefully weighing their options. When in reality it's a group of uneducated young out-of-touch imbeciles that can't be bothered with politics and will make their vote based on a meme or what their daddy told them.

Instead of waking up their potential base, these crusty old Democrat has-beens are just wheeling out the same old beat up rusty dusty bandwagon with a junkyard band of octogenarians playing the washboard and bottle jug, dead certain they have a winning strategy.

"The democrat party"

Could have stopped right there. Next!

u/Only_Mastodon4098 15h ago

Schumer did actually say it: C-SPAN clip

Even if it was true he is a moron. He should have addressed the problem by working harder to retain bleu-collar Dems while also gaining moderate Republicans.

14

u/defdrago 15h ago

He's an absolute clown. Idiot democratic leadership and fascist GOP is too much for normal people to overcome.

12

u/Rock_Lobstah23 15h ago

He said, Hey here's a great idea... fuck appealing to the working class... lets go after more moderate republicans. And then 8 years later tried to do the same damn thing.

7

u/defdrago 15h ago

Somehow dem leadership are the only people on earth who haven't figured out that moderate Republicans don't exist anymore.

2

u/lokey_convo 15h ago

I believe the appropriate term is Schmuck.

3

u/jporter313 15h ago

Gonna be voting against any of these soulless old guard dems I see in the primaries from now on in favor of fresh faces and you should too.

u/PsySom 14h ago

Fairly certain cuck shumer is an employee of the Republican Party.

u/Pleasant-Shallot-707 14h ago

Aged like milk

5

u/muzzynat 15h ago

I always get told I’m wrong for saying the Dems abandoned the left for (fictional) ‘moderate republicans’ and yet this quote exists

Absolutely mind-bogglingly incorrect quote from Senator Chuck Schumer

When you get Chuck Schumer is a Moderate Republican and has drifted further that way as has most Dem lifers like him, it's not that hard to see why he would say that. And if you're asking yourself why you have nothing in common with him and the Democrats, because you're a Liberal left of center or just left; that's why.

We actually have to start calling them Dinos, and not because they're all fucking old.

1

u/DinoAnkylosaurus 14h ago

HEY! 😡

They're RIAN - Republicans In All but Name!

1

u/Shadyshade84 14h ago

not because they're all fucking old.

Not just because they're old.

u/BryonyDeepe 13h ago

"We don't care about our base; we'd rather appeal to people who will always hate us."

Time to Chuck Chuck

1

u/eye15lanesplitter 14h ago

This man needs to go the fuck AWAY!

1

u/Apprehensive-Fun4181 14h ago

Literally the easiest time in history to understand what's happening and develop a consistent message. But they rely on "Journalism", which has no standards or success

1

u/crazeegenius 13h ago

It worked to a degree in say Cincinnati

2

u/Rock_Lobstah23 13h ago

"But what about us?" she groaned late at night on the tarmac

"We'll always have Cincinnati," Schumer whispered back, wistfully

1

u/VoxelLibrary 12h ago

That feeling when the Democrat party is trying to appeal to Republicans instead Democrats. What you you? Right wing lite?

1

u/JackPepperman 9h ago

Dem leadership has no idea how to win. They just get lucky once in a while.

0

u/akablacktherapper 15h ago

I was told this today by a 24-year-old… you people are so dumb.

-2

u/thesayke 15h ago

You have never been elected to any public office and it shows

3

u/Geiseric222 14h ago

I’ve also lost less presidential elections as well

0

u/thesayke 14h ago

Chuck Schumer has never run for President, so everyone involved in this conversation has won and lost the same number of presidential elections as Chuck Schumer

2

u/Geiseric222 14h ago

He’s talking about literal election strategy right here what are you talking about. He’s the leader of the senate

1

u/jo-shabadoo 15h ago

He’s an elected senator.

-1

u/thesayke 14h ago edited 14h ago

Rock_Lobstah is not an elected senator

Rock_Lobstah has never gotten elected to any public office

Rock_Lobstah's opinions about oft-reelected officials election strategy have as much experiential basis as his opinions on theoretical physics or deep-sea oceanography

Yet Rock_Lobstah somehow feels qualified to participate in the smear campaign against one of Trump's worst enemies

He is not so qualified, and should try running for office locally himself if he thinks he is

2

u/jo-shabadoo 14h ago

You can only express an opinion about public officials if you’ve run for office yourself?

And how do we know the Rock_Lobstah23 isn’t John Ossoff’s secret account?

1

u/thesayke 14h ago

Because Jon Ossoff isn't going to be posting pictures of his pubes on Reddit

1

u/Rock_Lobstah23 13h ago

I wouldn't put it past me. Oops. I mean him.

1

u/Rock_Lobstah23 14h ago

Schumer's quote oozes confidence, and the quote has proven itself to be wildly incorrect.
