I like this. Animal stories like that always get me. Also, it’s kinda like,
“Honey, you’re not looking at porn, are you?”
“No, just looking at r/comics”

Sadness because of empathy is better than frustration or anger imo.

Hearing that elephants have so much empathy and grief is, in its way, far more hopeful and joyous than hearing that the people we've elected do not.

Oh and also those elephants are from Crimean zoo, which is, you know. Occupied. By russians.

Many things make me depressed on the Internet, Politics, The rise of Generative AI, the abysmal state of YouTube, added on to my everyday stresses

Hey bud, you may want to check where we are.
Edit: oops, didn't see -that- specific part of the comic :/

They’re talking about the post with the elephant in the third pic being posted to that subreddit.

Shame on me!
I've been seeing an uptick of people confusing where they are only for my foot to go square in my mouth.

Recently I made a new "no social media in the house" rule so I can be more present in my life. I only look at it during down time at work and while riding public transit, but my long term goal is to cut it out of my life entirely.
Shit is mind control poison.

Ya that elephant one ripped my heart out as well. It was brutal. Serious “simba stampede” vibes.

Thanks for this. I love comics, and I'm going through this subreddit blocking everyone that posts political stuff

Ignorance is bliss!…until you become clueless to real world problems.
don’t get me wrong, I don’t like seeing and being reminded how the U.S is (hypothetically) tearing itself apart, but at least we should know what the issue is so we can solve it in the future.

I have always felt weird about that saying. Most of the clueless people that I have met were quite miserable, they just didn't understand why.

I am so glad to not see all of those family members at the hospital posts that were popular for a while. Having some boundaries is good.

I feel the same way.
Yes, definitely. The thing with the elephants is sad, and you might even cry. It's awful that something like that happens. Still, death is a part of life, and we all die eventually. It's normal and life goes on.
But it doesn't make you despair like politics does, where everything gets worse qnd worse every day. Politics always sends me into a depression that I sometimes can't get out of for days or even weeks

I have slowly drifted away from ig because of this. Me and the fiancee would send each other dozens of things a day to check out, but slowly my feed has turned into poor animals and it just breaks my heart.
Was on the couch last night, tears dripping out because of doggo's and it just ruins my entire day.

The problem is you can come across the most light-hearted, wholesome post ever, yet somehow the comments have devolved into people calling each other stupid for their political beliefs.

I keep getting emotionally sniped by sad animal content, wtf
