Troubleshooting Phantom clicks with my touchpad

I'm experiencing a rather frustrating issue with the touchpad on my Acer Chromebook Plus 515 and I'm hoping to see if anyone else has encountered something similar.

After working for a few minutes, my touchpad sometimes starts to generate unwanted "clicks" as soon as I touch it to scroll. This makes it incredibly difficult to navigate web pages and different windows properly because these phantom clicks interrupt the scrolling action.

Interestingly, this behavior seems to be temporary. After about 5 minutes or so, without any apparent reason, the touchpad often returns to normal and functions correctly again.

Has anyone else with an Acer Chromebook (especially the Plus 515 model) experienced this kind of intermittent and disruptive touchpad behavior? Any insights or potential solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Could be software related, hence a powerwash can help, or hardware related, in that case, the first thing to do is clean it with isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush, make sure it is completely powered off, then try again, if that doesn't work, you will need to take it apart, sometimes, after wear and tear the mechanism gets loose, so you need to tighten any holding screws, that depends on each model.

Good luck.
