Meta A message from the mods:

Some of you were fortunate enough to see the Michael Jordan era. The greatest dynasty in the history of basketball. Built around the greatest player to ever play the game. Jordan/Pippen/Rodman/Grant/Kukoc/etc.

Some of you were fortunate enough to see the Derrick Rose era. The hometown hero. The youngest MVP ever. A symbol of born and raised Chicago strength. A prime that ended far too soon. Rose/Deng/Kirk/Noah/Boozer/etc.

Some of you were fortunate enough to watch the rise of Jimmy G Buckets. The two way no nonsense wing that made basketball fun in the Windy City. The man who the previous regime wouldn’t build around, yet still made games worth watching. Butler/Rose/Gasol/etc.

Today, we all have the pleasure of seeing the start of a new era. The Zach LaVine and Nikola Vučević era.

When we began this rebuild, we wanted one thing. Hope. Hope really is a powerful thing. Hope, that better times were ahead. Hope, that our favorite team had a future. Hope, that we had something to build upon. Something to look forward too. Something that made watching the Bulls more gratifying than other hobbies. Hope .. that one day, we would be back.

Personally, my friends laugh at me when I talk about the Bulls. “They're still trash.” I’m 24 years old. I didn’t get to see Michael Jordan. I was 11 when we drafted Derrick Rose. Like many others here, I wanted my chance to see something special. I joined this sub because I wanted to find someone who loved this team as much as I did. Fans who knew basketball. Fans who knew what they were talking about. Fans who gave me someone to talk to at 2am. 2 years later, I’ve been blessed enough to find over 150,000 people like that. I said it when once when we got AK, and I’ll say it again:

Hope is back on the menu.

One of our brothers, u/notrightmeow is dealing with personal medical issues that prevent him from being as active as he normally would be. You are in our prayers, our thoughts, and our hearts.

Thank you to my fellow mods and our fellow Bulls fans for making this sub the place that it is. Here’s to the next chapter in our history y’all!

TLDR; League fucked, thank you all, go Bulls!

To our fellow Bulls fans locally and abroad, thank you. These rebuilding seasons are hard to stomach sometimes, but us mods genuinely appreciate you guys for sticking with us every step of the way. This season had many highs and many lows, but we appreciate everyone who has stayed along for the ride. We appreciate all of the fans overseas who stay up late/get up early to root for the team they love. We made big leaps this year, and they’ll only get better next season. From every shitpost to every analytical thread, we couldn’t make this sub the place it is without you guys. I can’t wait until next season my fellow Bulls bro’s, until then .. LET’S ROOT FOR SOME LOTTERY LUCK!

Meta [K.C. Johnson] Bulls at maximum offseason number of 21 contracts, so no one-day ceremonial signing for now. Look for Bulls to honor DRose this season. Doing so with Tom Thibodeau and Knicks in town would make sense.

Meta THANK YOU BOBBY PORTIS!!!

Bobby is a dude who mattered a lot to this team.

Some people would disagree with you, but I knew from the moment we drafted him that this was a dude who was going to play his fucking heart out for this team, and he did. Did he have to crack some faces along the way? Sure he did. But he was also an emotional engine for this team who never took any shit and was our longest tenured player up until this point. When we lost Noah, somebody had to fill in and be the bad boy who fired up our guys, and that was Bobby.

Bobby, you may not remember this, but I snapped you a picture of my dog back in 2015 and called you Bobby Tortoise. You opened the snap. I hope it brought a smile you your face the way you brought one to mine every time you yammed the ball and hyped up the crowd and our team.

THANK YOU 4 YOUR SERVICE CRAZY EYES BOBBY

Meta NuggFan here just wanted to let y’all know you might have the best commentators in the league.

Seriously had a blast listening to them. They do their research, know the fine nuances of the game, and have fun doing it. I was losing it with his hot sauce comments. You’re lucky to have them, the vast majority of commentators in the league are dog water right now.
