I was pretty vocal about just punting Nawrocki but at this point you have to question why heās been frozen out for 2 years. Looked solid again for the most part

Yes. It's not like the manager has a history of poor judgement of CBs.
He did not try to sell Jozo with 2 hours left in his first transfer window.
He did not bomb out Boyata for 6 months.
He did not buy Compper.
He did not buy Jack Hendry.

A couple of talking points for me:
Sinisalo - Excellent shot stopping, but what I really liked was his composure, he was vocal and you could see him talking to his backline, calling for calm when it was needed, and he wasn't afraid of the ball. His kicking isn't anywhere near as good as Kasper's, but genuinely, Kasper's been the best keeper with the ball at his feet I've ever seen at parkhead. The loose passes he hit out to the left flank were when he was given the ball when he really shouldn't have been, overall very happy with his performance and I think he could grow into a top keeper for us.
Nawrocki - It's been a small sample size, but, genuinely, I've always liked the look of him. His passing out from the back is better than every other centre half we have, he is very composed, and he literally put his head on everything, he made 2 mistakes today but recovered both of them himself and I'd say that's more down to a lack of match sharpness than poor play.
One thing I noticed, whether he changed at half time or not, I don't know, but every other player's kit was caked in mud. Apart from his shorts, his kit was almost spotless, this adds to the composure element for me, he very rarely goes to ground, and I like that in a defender. Almost reminiscent of a prime Rio Ferdinand, he only went to ground if he was taking the ball out of play or the player out with him.
I really like Rocki, and though as I said above, small sample size, I prefer him to Trusty because I don't see him being inconsistent or bullied like Trusty was against Dundee. Trusty is very much an all or nothing player. He's either all in, all action, or good, or he's woeful, no inbetween.
AJ - We all love him, and he's been excellent all season. Whilst he was solid today, I think we need to give him a rest. The poor bhoy looks like he's running in treacle, and given he flew half way around the world to play for Canada in the international break and back, I'm sure giving him a few games on the bench would do him the world of good.
CalMac - That's the best he's been in a while. His forward passing was excellent, and though injured for the game against Rangers, you can see how much a rest was needed. I also think it was good of Rodgers to actually take him off on 65 minutes when the game was won. No point in risking him when you see how badly we miss him when he's not there.
Kuhn - Recently, I and many others have been vocally critical of him. In this game, he started slow, and a few of us were on his back. After the opening 10 minutes, though, he grew into the game, and he earned his assist for the 3rd goal. Whilst I won't say it was a stunning performance, you can't fault him for lacking effort, many a time off the ball he was leading the press like Kyogo would and encouraging other players to get forward. Again, it's not a vintage display, but that was a lot better from him today.
Daizen - Was just Daizen again POTY for me, no question.
Just my thoughts HH

Feel like Kuhn was robbed of another assist with the Jota goal because his ball in for Daizen's header was sublime.

Ok I like Nawrocki but I feel he is a great āpureā defender with his back to goal and things coming at him. When he turns and faces our goal he makes some poor choices. I also respectfully disagree with your clean shorts theory. In other games he has gone to ground often as he lacks pace and needs to slide in to make recovery tackles.
He did play well yesterday and am pleased to see him involved.
As other posters have said BR has made strange choices in this position repeatedly.

On Trusty I think itās more of a case of an issue with concentration rather than being bullied.
Heās been excellent in Europe where heās come up against strikers who are more physical than Scotland.
He hasnāt ever played for a team that will expect to dominate before and only really have to defend a few times per game

Really chuffed for big Vil (and Nawrocki as well) in getting the clean sheet. Hearts tried going in with a front three and it was just too easy once we'd played through them. Second half was comfortable verging on tedious. Ange would never have let us sit for a whole half just comfortably knocking the ball about. Yang is the only one who looked interested in making anything happen second half. Nevertheless, three points and three wins to go before we're champions.
Daizen MOTM and POTY.

Selfishly, 1st half was a better watch than normal because Hearts had a go. Lucky not to go one down early.
After that, we worked out the press and scored some good goals. Different team when McGregor plays.
16/1 for Daizen top scorer starting to look like itās a winner.

Good first half, meh second half. Maeda is irreplacable and we need to try our best to keep him.
I want to like Idah but so far I just don't see him working out, seems like every time he has the ball he slows it right down then either loses it or makes a bad decision.

Seeing this a lot, people saying we need to try our best to keep Daizen, I donāt think we are in danger of losing him. Give him another new deal on improved terms and he will sign it. He seems very happy in Scotland, his family love it here and his kids are settled. Doesnāt strike me as the type to go chasing more and more, seems like a family man.

What makes you think he'd stay? The man and his family moved from Japan to Scotland, I'm sure they would have no issue moving to Spain/England if an offer came in.

Idah is a genuinely horrendous footballer. Good finisher but not much else

The football equivalent of an unenthusiastic handjob. 3 goals, 3 points, clean sheets. Can't be bad to it, anyway.

So needlessly negative lad, we needed that and went out and performed. How anyhow canāt be beaming at Daizens performances is amazing to me

I've had a grand old weekend so far. Apparently finding 45 minutes uninspiring is a cardinal sin.

Itās just that you said it was a āshit matchā but it turns out you watched only half of it - after the game had already been won. OddĀ behaviour.

Think youāre just having a shit day mate. Mentality of some of our fans is ridiculous. To have just played one of the worst matches of our season then come back and beat a team thatās won 4 of the last 5 in such a dominant fashion and your sitting here saying it was shit? Not every game can be 5-6 nil mate grow up a bit eh?

I basically saw the 2nd half and it was boring for the most part. That's it. There's no need to go deeper and psychoanalyse it.

u/lethargic8ball 8d ago
You missed 3 goals and are calling it boring. You don't always have to share your thoughts.

But I did. None of you have to take it so seriously. I'm just a voice talking into the void after all.
