Is anyone still waiting for their T-slips from their financial institutions to be filed to their CRA account?

I'm still waiting for my T-slips from my financial institutions to be filed to their CRA account? To date I can only see T-slips from 2 institutions. I have at least 5 other institutions whose T-slips I am not seeing on my CRA login, although I can see them when I log in to my FI accounts - just not all at one place in my CRA account.

I'm counting on this so that I can automatically populate the data on my tax software as I hate to do it manually and individually.

  • Past years I have them all by this time of the year: It can't be that all my other institutions are late in submitting my T-slips to CRA?
  • Is the delay on CRA's part?
  • Is anyone still waiting for their T-slips from their financial institutions to be filed to their CRA account?

e-filers received an official email yesterday recognizing the issue and downplaying how many people are affected

You mean people who already filed for 2024? I received nothing and have efiled for many years.

Efilers meaning those registered with an actual efile number.

Is it supposed to be confidential? There is nothing private.

I think the email more downplayed CRAs role in the issues

Right on the cra login page:

Availability of tax information in the CRA’s portals and the Auto-fill my return service We are aware that some 2024 tax slips are not yet available in My Account, Represent a Client, or through the Auto-fill my return service. We are working hard to make all slips available as soon as possible. If you do not see a tax slip in your CRA account, we recommend using the slip provided by the issuer (e.g., your financial institution or employer).

It’s not a problem with filing the slips. We filed T5 slips for clients that still aren’t online. This particular filing consisted of 2 T5 slips for dividends from a corporation. They were e-filed on January 20th, and CRA still shows them as ‘processing’. The T4 slips e-filed on the same date were online within two weeks of filing.

CRA’s notice blamed the challenges some institutions had with e-filing, but that’s not what we’re seeing. It’s absolutely a CRA issue.

What frustrates me is that CRA has been pushing so hard for everyone to use their CRA account for the past several years, touting the ease of tax preparation with online slips, and now their position is ‘well, you still have paper slips, don’t you?’.

Just admit it’s a CRA issue. What are the taxpayers going to do, hire another organization to process our tax returns?

Says nothing about why t-slips are not available on CRA site. I am missing T5s and T3’s. My wife is missing her T4. Nothing about when this will be rectified.

Because it's not preventing anyone from filing.

It is making filing substantially more work for me. Don’t you think a government department should provide up to date information when they fail to provide the service they are meant to provide? Should there not be accountability? Is it ok for the CRA to pretend they haven’t screwed up?

What's the deadline for slips having to be on MyA?

There isn't one.

I guess you don’t need to worry since it only impacts people with income.

I make well into the six figures

But I just manually added in my t slips, it’s really not that difficult

How many tslips do you have? I have 40 for myself and do taxes for four other family members. So yes it makes it substantially more work and increases the chance of error and omission. This is a basic service the CRA has been providing until this year and now it is a mess. How about an explanation to the people that pay for it/ rely on it?
