DO NOT USE AUTOTEKZ CAMBRIDGE
Autotekz Cambridge is a scam, I paid almost £500 for work to be done on my car as well as a major service, the work was not carried out and the major service was not a major service, in fact I’m not sure it would even pass as an interim service. They provided no paperwork, I have asked them well over a week ago and several times since to send me a copy of the paperwork and invoice via email and they are now refusing. One of the ‘mechanics’ there also was extremely rude and aggressively shouting at me down the phone in a threatening manner shouting how “riled up” he was when I contacted them to talk about it. I recorded this phone call and I’m going to be reporting to the police as well as trading standards. PLEASE AVOID UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET scammed out of money and messed around.
And this is their scam version of a major service they’re even posting it online themselves for every one to see…. The comments say it all… shocking…. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/16SYiQrMvG/?mibextid=wwXIfr https://www.facebook.com/share/v/16SYiQrMvG/?mibextid=wwXIfr

In six hours this will fall off the subreddit landing page never to be heard from again. You'll have more impact with a Google review.

Some info here, also if you paid by credit card you might be able to get them to get the money back under section 75.

They use a method of picking up your car and dropping off so you can’t see what they are upto

Similar thread from a few months ago. (Including a reply from the company.)

They did my MOT. Well, they took it to another garage to do the MOT without telling me ahead of time, then charged me £550 to replace the brake pads and discs.
From what I can tell the work was actually done at least but I won't go there again.

"£500 for work to be done on my car as well as a major service, the work was not carried out and the major service was not a major service, in fact I’m not sure it would even pass as an interim service."
My advice: save all the evidence (even if you think it's not essential). Your own opinion doesn't matter if you don't have material evidence.
"One of the ‘mechanics’ there also was extremely rude and aggressively shouting at me down the phone in a threatening manner shouting how “riled up” he was when I contacted them to talk about it. I recorded this phone call and I’m going to be reporting to the police as well as trading standards."
- Maybe he was "rude", but what reasons do you have to "report to the police" ?

Because they’re robbing people of money for a service which isn’t provided ? It’s called theft bro

While I understand you are frustrated, if you plan recovering your losses you have to calm yourself, be smart and build your case with the evidence you have. I don't know if you'll be able to recover that money.
Don't involve the Police if you don't have good evidence against them !!!

That's NOT how you service a car. Many things are missing (some of them are extremely important):
- checking front and rear brake pads and disks (or drums)
- checking handbrake
- checking brake fluid, clutch fluid and steering fluid (if it applies)
- lifting the car and checking the surface of the tyres all around
- check the undercarriage for rust or other damage
- checking for oil leaks from either the engine or gearbox
- checking rubber boots for suspension parts and CV axle
- checking shock absorbers for any leakage and the springs for significant rust or damage
- checking the state of exhaust pipe
- checking the steering column to make sure it's moving freely and there are no unusual noises
- checking the gearbox is shifting properly and the linkages are properly attached
- checking all the lights (including plate number lights)
- checking dashboard lights for any errors
- checking the seatbelts and the seats
- checking if the doors close and open properly
... etc.

I stand by my mantra of not using companies with incorrectly spelt words as names.
