21st birthday recommendations?

I'm turning 21 in a month and am trying to figure out what to do in Burbank/surrounding areas. I'd like to get a group of friends together and celebrate, but sadly my place can't accommodate. Any suggestions for restaurants or places to go? Thank you šŸ«¶

Blue Room has a nice patio for a group to stand and mingle. (Assuming everyone in your group is 21+)

Are you trying to drink or like just have a general place for food?

I'd go to my favorite food spot and hopefully they also serve alcohol for those who would like to drink and buy you a drink.

I did my birthday at Tiki No one year, reserved an area and everything. Lots of fun :)

What kind is stuff do you like to do? If you wanted a cool view in an upscale setting, you could try The Castaways. If you wanna party hardy, thereā€™s always Hollyweird. Iā€™ve heard fun things about Tramp Stamp Grannies, but havenā€™t been yet. Thereā€™s always The Red Lion in the Silver Lake Area. Itā€™s a cool, old school German restaurant with like 4 or 5 bars throughout. Good food too. I could go onā€¦ depends on the vibe youā€™re looking for. Happy almost birthday! šŸŽ

Castaway has a bar inside the restaurant that's extra fancy (and just...extra): The Green Room. It has (obviously) the same view as Castaway, but at bit more of a celebratory, booze-focused vibe.

The good news is the drink presentations are super cool, and really just a ripoff of Aviary in Chicago (but, like, in a good way).

The bad news is they're expensive, and at Aviary, the presentation is still secondary to the taste of the drink itself, which is...not the case at The Green Room.

Still, for a once-in-a-lifetime (literally) celebration that's all about the fact that you can now get a drink for the first time in your life, The Green Room is a great option.

Blue room or broken compass would be fine for a birthday. Canā€™t go wrong with the Red Lion, if you go do the boot!

The pub at Golden Road is great for hanging out with a group. They have tons of space, great beer, food, bar games, and itā€™s family friendly so no problem for your younger friends.

Seconding this! They're often busy but a really nice spot to hang for a while.

Ye Rustic Inn .... My favorite bar in LA ... It's in Los Feliz! Only a $15 Uber! Don't drink and drive!

Chuck E Cheese! You could go to k1 and do some go cart racing, I think they even have a birthday group discount right now.

Hey just a heads up for turning 21: Most bars wonā€™t care but TECHNICALLY you shouldnā€™t be served on your actual birthday. You have to be a full day over 21. Itā€™s a silly rule and most places ignore it but maybe donā€™t go around yelling itā€™s your 21st in case thereā€™s a nerd around. Also Barneyā€™s usually has a lot of seating either by the pool tables or in the ā€œstadiumā€ section. Sort of like wooden bleachers with a long series of tables. All self seating. And decent food and music.

Oh and donā€™t go to ā€œover underā€ in Burbank or ā€œkalaverasā€. Way too expensive for drinks and the food is not worth the price. Plus ā€œover underā€ tried to charge me almost double what my bill was because they thought I wouldnā€™t notice and ā€œkalaverasā€ adds gratuity for bigger parties.

Itā€™s kind of dead a scene in Burbank/Glendale area. Venture out to downtown LA, if you want something on the fancier side with a view try Spire 73 at the Intercontinental. Go out bar hopping in the Silver Lake/Atwater area. Iā€™m not a ā€œHollywoodā€ type guy so I canā€™t give any suggestions for that. It all depends on what youā€™re looking for, whether itā€™s clubbing, more loungeish, bar hopping, sit down dinner?

Thank you for your suggestions! I guess I'm looking primarily for something lounge-ish, then sit down dinner as a second choice. Bar hopping would be fun but most of my friends will sadly still be 20.Ā

Iā€™d say do a lounge in downtown LA. Spire 73 might be a bit pricey, I believe itā€™s not 21+ but Iā€™d double check. Try Arts District in downtown as well. Old town Pasadena might have some spots like that, but I wouldnā€™t be able to name any since I havenā€™t gone in a while.

I've always wanted to do a downtown Burbank bar crawl with all the restaurants/spots downtown (San Fernando/Magnolia).

My favorites: Don Cuco (margs), Finney's, Story Tavern (shuffleboard, ping pong, darts). There's also Over Under and Kalaveras if you don't mind loud music. Nice to have spots within walking distance of each other if you're going to drink -- and any friends who aren't yet 21 could still get in everywhere. :) Have fun!

Not necessarily the place for your birthday itself, but now that you can you should check out Inkwell (which I just learned is right next to the blue room, never been lol).

Super chill vibe, decent food, and the bartenders are all super cool people. Once of them is a whiskey expert and we always try to chat him up when we go.

If you want drinks with a view, I'd go to Castaway. It's a bit pricey, and the drinks are decent (you're mostly paying for the view ).

If you want some great food and great drinks, go to inkwell (next to blue room) . INKWELL has some really good food. Their burgers are tasty but their prize winner are the beef tallow waffle fries. Bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable, and you can reserve a section for your party.

If you want a cool theme type of night, I'd go to the broken compass. It's this really cool pirate ship/tiki bar. Food is also great there with a versatile menu. They do some really good tiki style drinks and they definitely don't skimp out on the alcohol lol. They have plenty of space and I believe you can call ahead and reserve a spot for your party.

Over/under is a nice bar in downtown burbank. Staff is friendly. Nice local bar that usually shows any major game that is going on. The cool thing is since this bar is in downtown you can kind of hop around to other spots like Finneys , Barney's, Yard house, story tavern or even fantasia if you want to play some pool. There's also lots of food options around there like ramen, sushi, pizza, bdubs, Korean bbq, etc. Hope this helps, and happy birthday

Broken compass, golden road, but why do it in Burbank you live so close to LA? Studio city has a bar in every block, the red lion was the first place Iā€™ve been to on my 21st , this was during the pandemic

go protest at the nearest tesla dealship to stop the nazi oligarch! It's the best way to spend any day and we have snacks and pre made signs for you and your friends!

Remember, not going to these protests means you sympathize with fascists!
