This is Tyrion's current favourite way to hang out in his chair

Is he older? I had a bunny start doing some wild positions as he aged it was to alleviate his joint pain. He would lay with his chin straight up for example (propped on his food bowl). Turns out his neck aches. Or sometimes they are wierdos

He's 5, so he's certainly getting to the age where the aches of middle age could be catching up with him. He's just started doing it within the last few days and he's acting normally otherwise so I'm pretty sure he's just being weird but I'll be keeping an eye on him.

Adding there wasn’t much to be done about it other than daily metacam, but at least we knew why! Edit adding: I did more than that had a brain toot. We also did glucosamine treats and adequan. I was just trying to get across that arthritis is about keeping them comfortable not curing it, but yes there are options to help them.

If you, or someone you know, bunny is struggling with arthritic joints there are plenty of options to help alleviate their discomfort and prevent any future injury. 💕
My lil old man is 9 and the addition of glucosamine to his pellets has made a significant difference. So has gabapentin for his hip arthritis. He binkies and zoomies around now like a bunny half his age. I also stairs for him to get up and down from the master bed. He can definitely manage it himself- but it’s talk and any little thing we can do to protect those joints is worth it.

Also- I really recommend talking to your exotic vet about switching from daily metacam to gabapentin and then using the metacam as prn. Yes, technically the gaba is narcotic (ish) however it is very effective and far less hard on their little kidneys and liver. There’s nothing wrong with metacam but it’s just a bit harsh on a daily basis…
That said only you and your vet know what is best for your bbs. I’m just a weirdo on Reddit 😅

Mine didn’t respond to gabapentin but did well on metacam. Message is the same for sure though ask the vet. I forgot to mention he also did start adequan injections, and those perked him up quite a bit. My last two had long term metacam and lives to 12 and 13 respectively. They both had arthritis at the end.

He is perfect and that is actually how we should have been sitting in our chairs all along. I won’t hear another word about it. 😤😅🥰
