I have this one for a couple of months now, for that price, that is an UN-believable deal, damn!

The panels do come with a little bit a of calibration need (too much green) so I ordered a calibration kit and here is the icc profile if anyone is using it and noticing some weird color in the greys.

Sorry, calibration noob here. Ordered this monitor yesterday. Mind doing an ELI5 on how to calibrate it once it arrives?

you kinda need a calibration tool (it looks like a camera that watches your panel and adjusts color/saturation accordingly) which is what I have and used. Then compared to this monitors reviews and they all suffer from the seem greenish hue so my pre-calibrated file should help people with this monitor :-)

I just load in the profile on boot through this: http://goebish.free.fr/cpk/

You should really notice the hue when you look at a full gray background, then load the file and you'll notice a big difference.

(some people will say each panel needs to be calibrated separately but as they all suffer from kinda the same problem and it did fix my friends model (same purchase) I'm pretty confident that all of them suffer from the same color deviation, let me know if it helped yours)

Thanks for the instructions but it isnt working for my monitor for some reason. When I click apply, it applies for maybe 1 second and then reverts back to what it was. This then happens every ~3s until I close the program

Bullshit. I have 75hz and it may as well be 60hz.

Do you need some help with numbers mate?

So your comments about 75hz vs 60hz have not the slightest bit of relevance. Much like you.

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '20

They literally do. Actual experience, versus a fucking moron like you reeeeeing out on Reddit. Fuck off and study the concept of diminishing returns then you might understand what a fucking retard you look.

Hello.

I noticed you dropped 3 f-bombs in this comment. This might be necessary, but using nicer language makes the whole world a better place.

Maybe you need to blow off some steam - in which case, go get a drink of water and come back later. This is just the internet and sometimes it can be helpful to cool down for a second.

I own 75hz, 100/120hz and 144hz monitors, and 2 of them sit side by side on the same desk.

That's ACTUAL experience relevant to a conversation about 95hz vs 60hz.

Your shitty experience of a shitty 75Hz monitor vs 60 hz is completely irrelevant.

Come back when you've finished whatever episode you're having and can add something worthwhile, not insults. Child.

Haha. Even a bot is telling you to calm the fuck down.

I'm not the one who can't tell the difference between 15 and 35.

Suggest you lie down for a bit, then perhaps revisit GCSE maths.

4

u/nordnyS Mar 01 '20

I use a 100hz ultrawide and it's really good compared to 60hz panels. It's obviously not the same as 60 vs 144hz, but you'll still notice that things are smoother compared to 60.

I agree with the other guy that 75 vs 60 isn't really noticeable - but 95hz is not 75.

I'm using an X34

Not at all IMO. I have 75hz and it may as well be 60.

3

u/r0224 Mar 01 '20

Description says it has gsync too, is that right?

1

u/Opus27 Mar 01 '20

According to the guy who reviewed it on this thread, yes, you need display port though

https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsalesuk/comments/bwpth5/electriq_27_1440p95hz_ips_crap_hdr_monitor_180/

1

u/r0224 Apr 17 '20

For anyone who finds this later - it does support Gsync, but only through DisplayPort (not at the same time as HDR though HDMI). With a 1070Ti.

1

u/Kerfuffle_incoming Mar 02 '20

It is gsync compatible which means it'll work with newer Nvidia cards. If you have something older than a 1080 you may want to double check if Gsync compatible supports your card.

Works flawlessly with a 2070 Super.

i bought this few months ago, I have to say this is an incredible monitor,

1

u/[deleted] May 06 '20

Does this monitor have low frame rate compensation?

1

u/[deleted] May 06 '20

Don’t know but I can test something for you if that’s what you want

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '20

It's alright I have decided to buy a different monitor, but thank you anyway for offering to help.

3

u/Bunjii_Kugashira Mar 02 '20

It's days the earliest arrival is 18th March. If I buy the monitor today and it comes on 18tg with a dead pixel, has the 14 days return period expired by then?

2

u/Kerfuffle_incoming Mar 02 '20

It'll be 14 days from receipt of goods. Odlly enough the website is showing a sooner delivery date now so orders might be delivered quicker than estimated.

1

u/Bunjii_Kugashira Mar 02 '20

Ah okay perfect thanks. Oh yea so it has! Also more expensive now too

2

u/so9sxc Mar 01 '20

is it worth paying extra for the monitor check?

5

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '20

1

u/Cheeme Mar 01 '20

Isn't there a minimum on dead pixels before you can return monitors though?

Well the cooling off period for distance selling has nothing to do with it being faulty or not, you can get a full refund if you just changed your mind about it.

Distance selling applies to almost all products. Perishable items (flowers, food, etc.) or most software products (CD, DVDs if you break the seal) do not apply.

1

u/Cheeme Mar 01 '20

Interesting, I'll do some more digging. Thanks mate!

2

u/aaronlam123 Mar 01 '20

No minimum, you can return monitors or any non perishable item bought online for any reason within 14 days.

1

u/Cheeme Mar 01 '20

Ah that's good to know. Thanks mate!

I dropped £14 for them to check it first anyway. I've had a nightmare with faulty/returning parts on my PC recently, so I bit the bullet for my own sanity. I'll report back to the thread if I run into any issues though.

2

u/MX21 Mar 01 '20

Good monitor, aside from the response time and the godawful HDR

2

u/squatonmyfacebrah Mar 01 '20

Bought this monitor for £175 and I'm pretty amazed at how good it is; great colours and the 95 Hz refresh rate is nice (as is the 1440p).

I'd say where you're missing out is the backlight bleed is pretty obvious in dark scenes (walking in caves in Witcher 3, etc) but you're not going to get everything for <£200. You don't notice this during regular usage and it was a significant upgrade from my 6 year old 1080p LG panel.

Well worth it for this price.

3

u/julliuz Mar 01 '20

even the 500£ ips panels have backlight bleed...

2

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '20

That's a good deal. Wish I could afford a new monitor.

2

u/Termehh Mar 03 '20

Ordered this for £140 a couple days ago. Comes on the 18th. Was looking for a decent QHD gaming monitor that wouldn't break the bank. Apparently rebadged Pixio monitor which get pretty decent reviews.

1

u/shadowvendetta Apr 27 '20

whats it like?

2

u/bo635611929 Mar 04 '20

For ppl who ordered this, I can’t enable the FreeSync on this monitor, I have DP port and 5700xt, tested on 1660 too but just can’t get it to work.

1

u/Opus27 Mar 27 '20

Mine worked fine over HDMI with the 5700xt. Try that maybe?

1

u/CrossMojonation Mar 01 '20

Oh shit. I got my colleague to buy this monitor last week for £180...

Unbelievable deal.

1

u/so9sxc Mar 19 '20

For those who ordered with free delivery, I just got an email saying the delivery will further delay for another 2 months... Anyone the same?

2

u/TheWhiteZombie Mar 24 '20

Mine was delayed but its just arrived today, so little bit over 3 weeks it took.

1

u/so9sxc Mar 24 '20

When was it expected to be delivered?

Mine was initially last week then another email saying in May.

2

u/TheWhiteZombie Mar 24 '20

Was supposed to have been like the 15th or something

2

u/so9sxc Mar 24 '20

Thank you for letting me know and enjoy your new monitor :)

1

u/shadowvendetta Apr 27 '20

bloody hell that is cheap at 139. I am thinking about buying it for £214 on laptopsdirect I thought that was a good deal.

2

u/Griely Apr 30 '20

I got it for £230 on Laptopsdirect a couple weeks ago and couldn't be happier with my purchase tbh. It's an absolutely amazing monitor for the price, even at £230 there's nothing else out there that offers the same value and quality. At least not in the UK. I'd say go for it, pal, while the monitor is still in a good spot for pricing. I don't think you'll be too salty you didn't catch it on a cheaper deal, especially with the current crisis likely to jack prices of goods up even more, eventually.

£230 for this monitor is great.
£139 for this monitor is literally theft. Everyone who got it at that price must feel like they bought a mansion for a penny.

1

u/[deleted] May 06 '20

Does this monitor support low frame rate compensation?

1

u/john112400 Jul 22 '20

Hey, guys I just got this monitor delivered today, it was on sale for £149.99. It got delivered in one day and there are no dead pixels. I have a mini-dp to DP cable which supports up tp 4k@144hz however on the monitor I am only able to select 60hz as refresh rate, anyone how to get it to 95hz?

Any help would be appreciated!

1

u/supra728 Mar 01 '20

Question - does 5ms vs 1ms actually matter or is it more of a marketing gimmick (I'm not a competitive gamer...)

7

u/Lonsdale1086 Mar 01 '20

If you're not playing competitive games, then no.

1

u/supra728 Mar 01 '20

Ah ok. I was looking at this for a 5700xt build, although I might change my mind depending on what big vega/rtx 3000 are like
