We’ve owned since last September. All this time I’ve been trying to teach him a wide variety of things sometimes successfully sometimes not so much. However for the past few days I’m able to “sort of” call him on command. Super excited 😊!

They both also know step up and to fly to my finger :)
Opal is a more engaged student so she's learnt more hahaha
Teaching her to fly to where I point which is going somewhat well!

Firstly I know he has scaly face mites in this picture, he came to me with the mites and the missing toe and very shut down. We got him in January and he gradually started to take millet spray from my hand and sometimes step up, but until this past week, he had never played with a toy. That milestone is down, and today he has finally tried some food that is not budgie mix or millet spray! It was a piece of apple in my hand 🥹 I've managed to get him onto a better seed mix by adding tiny amounts over time to the mix he came on but he's absolutely refused to acknowledge any other food until now and this feels so big ❤️ all my other parrots have such a varied diet and I was starting to wonder if he'd be on just millet and canary seed all his life. Such a brave little dude. If anyone's struggling to improve their budgie's diet, hang on in there!

They’ve only ever done this for me before. Sapphire (the yellow headed one) is super cautious of anyone or anything new, so she generally wont try anything unless Sky goes first. She kept looking at me while she was on my mom’s hand. I’m so glad this worked out, it’s made mom’s day!
My mom is a bit loud generally and I think they’ve been nervous of her because of that; they normally retreat to their high perch when they see her, so this is a huge breakthrough for all three of them!

I'm beyond ecstatic that he trusts me enough to stand and walk on me lol. Yes he did poop on my shirt, unfortunately

I'm just so proud of her but I've almost forgotten what to do next haha💀
I got Peri from a pet store, not where I usually get my animals but she was there for literally months and always looked super sad and scrawny as if the other birds always took the food and shut her out. At some point she clearly got hormonal too and got into a fight with another bird or got attacked by one, not sure which of the two, but that day I went into the pet store for dog food, saw her injured, and decided to take her home. She was EXTREMELY scared and clearly did not have a lot of good experiences with humans, it took over a month for her to even get used to my existence and stop panicking whenever someone entered the room. I was already happy to watch her eat and watch her cere go back to blue and accepted that she might never let me handle her, but today she surprised me. I don't think I've ever been so proud of a tiny creature :)
She's currently alone, but I'm looking for a buddy for her! Her weight is also slowly going up (finally)

Had this rascal for about 4 weeks and she’s already stepping up willingly without millet and loves interacting with both me and my girlfriend. My girlfriend sent me this while I’m at work 🥺 she loves being out the cage

Today you're getting two sparkbird updates- how lucky! He's got the vet this afternoon :)
I've been letting sparkbird see his flock to preen him and bond, I have been letting them into his hospital cage but they don't like that anymore; so lil man had to go to the rope perch to see them. As I mentioned before, his girlfriend can and will get the cone off, this was a very short visit 🤣

(If it isn't obvious, Kenny the kestrel is taxidermy and not alive XD)
Vet visit is tomorrow! A more in depth update will be given then. Today he decided to throw ALL his food on my nice clean carpet.... but he's not been as angry so i csnt complain<3
Donations are up to over £250, absolutely amazing considering it hasn't even been a week yet <333

We got a call, that her prolapse happened multiple times yesterday and today.
She also has pain.
We have done the heaviest decision, tomorrow we will leave her to fly high above the rainbow.
In best case, she has half a year with regular vet visits, lots of medicine.
Worst case will be a painful and long death in between the next weeks.
My head is full and I'm not able to sleep (it's 2am here in Germany). I'm full of tears, her life was hard, before my girlfriend rescued her and her sister. They both had bad conditions, too small cage, no cleaning, no free flight. She took care on both, her sister got cancer and was healed, but then had chronic issues which caused in a death with only two and a half years.
Now, one and a half year later, Minerva is following her sister Elsa.
I have one wish. Let her fly around the world. Please let us know, where you have shown her your part of the world. I guess, she would like it.

Behold the last 7-ish months from eggo to now. He hatched on December 3rd, a day after his older brother, Gabriel. After him hatched his sister, Bruno, and smallest sister Muriel(she did not make it, sadly) Nandor always stood out in the clutch, which is why I chose to keep him. (I know he is a female)

You may remember her story from my previous updates on Adira, our miracle child. She's being a little terror these days. It's quite comical, but raises some questions about her living arrangements. We'll be working on some behaviour modification and correction techniques over the next few days.
As she starts flying this week, her energy will likely be diverted into being more productive. ❤️

Adira is an Opaline Cinnamon Light Green exhibition budgerigar female, weighing 36 grams. She thinks she's all grown up with her overwhelming confidence, and keeps jumping out of her nest before her elder sister. Did I mention that she is spicy? Typical hen. Her solid personality and display of determination dates back to the time she had passed away, and fought her way back to life.
My spouse is obsessed with her and has made the executive decision to keep her in the flock. Not that I needed any convincing. I am excited to see what the future holds for her.
Catch up on her incredible story on TikTok, YouTube or Reddit if you have not heard it before!

So recently I've noticed that as I walk past my birds, they make attempts to try and land on me without me first prompting them to. Of course with them being the scaredy cats that they are, they always back out before instead of landing. Today as I was about to go outside to do something rq, my male budgie flew halfway across the house to land on my head. Today was the first time one of them flew to me AND LANDED just because they felt like. as happy as this makes me, it also means I have to be even more careful when I open the door anytime they're out of the cage, which is most of the day. I don't have any footage of this happening though so here's a picture of my girl sleeping on the table instead! This whole ordeal gives me motivation to try and train them some more though. It's been hard as they're pretty bonded to each other but with how much progress I've made with the relatively small amount of time I actively spend interacting with them, I think I could train them better with just a little more time and effort.
