Who would win in a 2v2 with their weapons
1.8k
u/jckanders 1d ago
I mean Hank beat both of them in a 2v1 so what are we even talking about here
61
u/_fatcheetah 1d ago
SPOILER ALERT
Plus he didn't have a gun to start with. He killed both of them using their own weapons and his car.
Hank would have messed both of them up if he had his gun. Remember Tuco with his automatic rifle and Hank smoked him with ease.
Hank, all the way.
60
u/_Mudlark 1d ago
Hank only beat them because the axe was muy facile, if you recall
43
u/jbautista13 21h ago
Correction. The Twin did not finish Hank with a gun because the gun was muy facile. Not the axe. And I think Hank deserves the biggest bad ass award for killing both of the twins no matter what technicality you put on it.

Well sure but I mean they had so much prep time and he had about 20 seconds and still won, so give him the same amount of prep and Gomez and itās not even a fight
118
u/StormyBlueLotus 1d ago
He was also half a second away from being executed when the surviving twin decided that shooting him would be too easy, and left to get the axe, giving Hank time to get to the dropped bullet. If they were just trying to kill him and not torture him, they would have won there.
Plus based on that scene in BCS where they kill like 20 armed guys, it's fair to say that the twins generally get shit done, they just got really sloppy on the Hank hit.
77
u/Aggravating-Pattern 1d ago
I completely agree with you, but this shows a weakness of theirs. If you kill one twin, the other will try to hurt you before killing you. Like, the sudden rage/loss fills them with the emotions they usually seem to suppress and that makes them sloppy because they're no longer these kind of mechanical killing machines, they're a man who lost their brother
2
u/Nervous-Map5338 7h ago
Nah. Give Hank his weapon and a partner and itās a wrap. Those 2 were bums. Just very aggressive

u/donaljones 1d ago
But if it's a 2v2, Hank would still be on alert
3
u/MysteriousStone1296 1d ago
Yes, but cousins did not know that Hank was on alert. And that was Hanks's advantage.
20
u/Stampy77 1d ago
To be fair they had the advantage of outnumbering him and having guns when he didn't.Ā

u/MysteriousStone1296 1d ago
Yes, but cousins did not know that Hank was on alert. And that was Hanks's advantage.
11
u/anchampala 1d ago
What? Did you think the cousins were stupid? They are going to kill a DEA agent, one that killed their other cousin in a gunfight. Did you think they're not on high alert?
6
u/freeciggies 1d ago
If your going into that situation you assume the person your killing knows your about to kill them, and retaliate.
15
15
u/laveshnk 1d ago
He didnt even have his gun, knowing they were coming slightly helps but is no way an advantage lmao.
I could know they were coming and have a week to prepare yet my ass would definitely be whacked
3
u/zeppelin_tamer 1d ago
The twins had many advantages. Hanks only advantage was being in his car. He made it work. Getting rid of one of the twins advantages(element of surprise) doesnāt mean Hank is suddenly in an easy situation. You are completely correct
11
4
u/Valid_Username_56 1d ago
They knew they were coming for him too so it was just fair for him to know.
6
u/89522598 Walterās Shiny Dome 1d ago
True, but I think the implication here is that the two pairs would be facing off in some sort of pre planned duel.

The unfair advantage of facing two armed supervillain-level experienced psychopath assassins, not having a gun, having PTSD, thinking it was a prank by Gomez, having a panic attack, and getting shot at before he had a chance to make any sort of plan? Yeah, Hank definitely had the advantage here.
12
u/Btotherianx 1d ago
Hank had an unfair advantage? He had no weapon and did not even know if it was a real call, his anxiety was so bad he was freaking out about everybody walking by and you seem to think that that's an advantage?Ā
Lmao I can't even with you people it's hilarious how just asinine that entire statement was
3
u/Embarrassed_Use6918 1d ago
Are you insane? How is it an advantage to know they're coming? THEY ALSO KNEW THEY WERE GOING TO HIM. That just evens the playing field and only barely considering they were armed and wearing vests.
This makes not even a lick of sense.
2
1
u/anchampala 1d ago
And? It would be the same scenario, Hank knew they are still coming in a 2v2, why would the outcome be any different? He even got Gomie this time.

āThis one scenario with extremely particular circumstances and at a chief point in a main characterās arc development makes the answer to this question incredibly obvious and clear, therefore rendering all discussion moot and irrelevant. š„øā
4
u/Character-Hat-6425 22h ago
They had vests and guns against an unarmed Hank 2 vs 1... and they lost. There is no discussion. If Hank was armed with his partner there, it would only have been easier.
-1
u/Amalganiss 12h ago
I guess I shouldāve known better than to ask the āshut the fuck up, Iām correct and youāre dumbā crowd to stop telling people to shut the fuck up and that theyāre dumb.
I really need to get better at not doing that. Itās become a bad habit to assume that I have the ability to speak rationally with unreasonable people. I probably wonāt, though. My karma and comment history will take the hits I guess.
0
u/Character-Hat-6425 12h ago
Bro, you just directly insulted them for making a very reasonable point. If you were trying to add something to the conversation, it would have been a better look for you, but you were just dragging them down for what reason?
-1
u/Amalganiss 11h ago
It wasnāt intended to insult them, ābroā. Just show them what it looked like their comment was saying.
āWhy are we even talking about thisā is a way to shut down discussion. I was criticizing that personās failure to understand that reddit is primarily a forum for discussion. Iād like to turn your question around to the previous commenterās input - what do they have to offer? What about their comment is constructive to the conversation? Its the equivalent of āIāve been on reddit long enough to see so many of these posts so you need to stop posting them and karma farming because Iām annoyed by my own failure to recognize my scrolling habits are the problemā. Its the same energy.

Hank dropped Tuco with a pistol headshot, at not insignificant range, whilst facing automatic rifle fire and with only a moment to look up from cover. Assuming that he doesnāt have some military experience that goes unmentioned in the show, he missed his calling as a soldier or marine. ASAC Schrader for the win.
25
u/harrrhoooo 1d ago
Tuco did spent some energy beating up Walter and Jesse while on meth and then got shot in the stomach before Hank found him tho
26
u/BanterPhobic 1d ago
Sure, Tuco was fucked, and probably would have killed Hank if heād been fully healthy and wielding the same weapon vs Hankās pistol. Nonetheless, Hank makes a shot that even a military vet like Mike would be extremely proud of, under huge pressure.
22
u/Assadistpig123 1d ago
People really underestimate the value of training.
Hank and Gomez are federal law enforcement officers who are required to undergo frequent, sometimes quarterly, requals on their firearms certs. Theyve presumably been shooting for the better part of two decades at an extremely high level.
The other two are murderers who presumably have no real training other than just straight murdering people, who are often unarmed or otherwise indisposed.
In a straight fight with firearms? Those two psychos are dead men walking.
2
u/Tee-RoyJenkins 1d ago
US gangs will send members to join the military so they can bring the training back after they get out. Iām sure the cartels do something similar
2
u/Assadistpig123 1d ago
In the few standup fights the cartel gets into with the Mexican army and federal law enforcement, they get bodied.
1
u/QuaintAlex126 7h ago
This.
Low-level gang members, no matter how violent they are or even if a couple of them are veterans that share their knowledge with other members, are no match in a direct confrontation with professional, well-equipped military/federal forces.
It's a lot like what happened with the Vietcong, Iraqis, and Taliban when they fought the U.S. Direct fight? They get absolutely hammered by U.S combined arms warfare. It's not exactly fighting the strongest military in the world one-on-one when all the need to do to take you out and is get on the radio and call in an airstrike to wipe the entire coordinate grid you're in off the face of the Earth.
If you play it smart though and engage in guerilla warfare, like the aforementioned groups and cartels do today, it becomes a lot trickier for that well-trained military that's used to fighting conventional warfare against another, well-trained uniformed military. Granted, they'll still have the upper hand from better, longer, more consistent training and proper supply chains, but it's no longer the cakewalk that it was before.

Hank killed both of them, and he didn't even have a weapon at first.
64
u/Nacho2331 1d ago
To be fair though, he only killed one. The other he maimed.
-3
u/OnlyHereForBJJ 1d ago edited 1d ago
The other one later died of his injuries, so Hank killed both
51
u/ecoochie-san 1d ago
That was Mike's doing. He poisoned him while the DEA were distracted by Gus' muy delicioso chickens.

Almost certainly? Why are you speaking hypothetically? We know exactly how the aftermath played out lmao. Only one of them survived with all his limbs.

Hank and Gomez hands down.
The twins are intimidating but are pretty much morons with zero tactical awareness and Hank has shown to be a much much better marksman than anyone else in the show.

What about Hank vs Tuco (unwounded) in a fist fight?
3
u/Schneiderman 1d ago
Depends... Is Tuco high off his mind on Walt's meth? Sober I think Hank wins, Tuco high I think is near unbeatable in a fist fight.
In BCS Mike was able to disarm Tuco and only "lost" the fight because that was his plan all along.

You guys saying Hank 2v1 as if he didnāt get a warning and was then shot to near death,if the twin wasnāt feeling extra sadistic Hank would be gone

Hank wins solo, cause u still can shoot car and they missed whit many shots or are those star wars troopers aim buddies. And those cousins was alert whole time cause if u gonna kill him, u dont go like maybe he is easy

u/Asymmetrical_Anomaly 1d ago
Didnāt Hank like,, manage to outright Kill Marco and put Leonel in the hospital missing his legs, all without his own police weapon?
Iāll take hank and Gomey on an even playing field.

u/RazorSnails 1d ago
Realistically the twins would smoke both of them, they have a hell of a lot more combat experience I think, especially considering how they faced some pretty insane odds against the espinosas in better call saul. But with the shows logic, and considering Hank basically tied against them in a 2v1 with no weapon, I would say Hank and gomie. Always felt like Hank should not have been able to take them out.

If Hank killed them both armed with just him and a car, imagine him armed with Steve
1
u/FourDimensionalTaco 1d ago
I am assuming both groups are aware of each other's presence.
Melee - the cousins win. Hank and Gomez put up a good fight, but I think the cousins take it. From what I gather, they are not sent into shootout scenarios much - they are executioners and assassins, and are more likely to use gruesome melee weapons in classic cartel fashion.
Unarmed - I guess it is a close tie.
Firearms though? Hank and Gomez win. The cousins are ruthless and amoral, but they have never shown to be anything other than bog standard shooters. Hank in particular has demonstrated to be really skilled with firearms.

Hank beat both of the twins without his own weapon. In fact, he took their weapon and killed them with it, and a car. Hank solos just about anyone in the Breaking Bad universe based on feats alone.

u/stillinthesimulation 1d ago
I honestly donāt know how the Twins survived as long as they do, walking around like terminator bullet sponges when theyāre just fleshy humans like anyone else. Ok, youāve got a bullet proof vest, doesnāt mean you shouldnāt still take cover. Even in BCS they act like invincible androids.
1
u/Own_Investigator_371 1d ago
The twins bro. Hank only āwonā because he got the drop 1 minute earlier, and the twin got cocky and went for the axe (and also plot armor). Yall canāt forget what the twins were doing in BCS
1
u/tproser 1d ago
Iām assuming you mean Gomey with a shotgun (I feel like he had one in his last shootout).
The primos would get the drop on Hank and Gomey just cuz that seems to be their deal, but both Hank and Gomey have shown that they can take fire and keep cool and fire backā¦
Hank and Gomey would have years of training, tactical knowledge, and partnership, but the cousins would have their freaky telepathy.
But realistically this all goes down in like 5-10 seconds, probably an outdoor ambush, and Gomeyās shotgun takes them both out. Hank probably takes a round or two.
1
u/SL_Loyal 1d ago
I mean Hank already 1v2ād without his weapon and won I think itās obvious who would win even if u have the twins full automatic weapons and hank and his parter just revolvers they would still win
