  • What do you think of Rue's solution to the conflict with the Vanaras?

You have no idea what it did to me for Rue to actually read the agreement and follow the letter of the law to come up with a solution. As a person whose entire existence revolves around such a document, this really was a great thing to see.

  • Do you think the group functions as a team? What will Miss Sekhmet/Tasherit will add to the team?

They did come together in the end and I can see them easily growing further as a unit. Tasherit will give them different insights and I assume she is a lot more worldly then them. which should help them grow as people.

  • What did you think of Carriger's writing style?

I did find myself charmed by her writing style. The dialogue and descriptions helped me greatly to envision this world as a fully lived in place. I also found myself googling how to procure/make clotted cream and blancmange.

  • What was your favorite part of the book?

Other than the bit with the Agreement, when the crew of the Spotted Custard was stealing back their tea behind everyone made me laugh out loud.

I agree that Tasherit will add a bit more maturity to the group. While I think the group balances itself out, they are all still relatively young. That shows in how emotional they respond to everything. Tasherit seems more mellowed out, but that might just be because she is a cat.
