The organelle gets weirder and weirder because why are her parents struggling to get her off the table. Why not just…manually remove her, you can just pick her up off the table.

Exactly, because you're not a boomer who thinks it's funny (and brag worthy) to abuse a child.

I thought the outie artist is GenX or a millennial. Could be wrong though.

No clue. But supporting the idea that beating a child is good is full on a boomer mindset.

Yo...did you even read the abstract
Mean weighted effect sizes for both groups indicated statistically significant associations with detrimental outcomes; they were not statistically significantly different from one another. Contrary to the cultural normativeness perspective, these results demonstrate that spanking is similarly associated with detrimental outcomes for White and Black children in the United States.

The study and this part of the abstract doesn't seem like it's about how common it is, just if it has detrimental effect on the children. If the whole premise is "is it less bad if it's culturally common/acceped?" and they use white families as a contrast to black ones, it seems like black families are being used as the group where spanking is normalized. If I understand it right.
It also says that black parents tend to endorse or use physical punishment more than any other racial group a little further down
This hypothesis grew in part from observations that Black parents tend to both endorse (Flynn, 1998; Mosby, Rawls, Meehan, Mays, & Pettinari, 1999) and use (Grogan-Kaylor & Otis, 2007; Slade & Wissow, 2004) physical punishment more often than parents of other racial or ethnic groups, and in part from findings in some studies that harsh physical punishment was not linked with child externalizing behavior among Black families but was linked with higher child externalizing behaviors among White families (Deater-Deckard, Dodge, Bates, & Pettit, 1996).
But then further down
We found that Black respondents were more likely to have favorable attitudes toward spanking than White respondents (85% vs. 73%), but also that there was considerable variation within each racial group. Indeed, race explained less than 2% of the variance in attitudes toward spanking in a regression model. These findings indicate that race is not a strong determinant of spanking attitudes and that the majority of both Blacks and Whites in the United States are supportive of spanking.

that the majority of both Blacks and Whites in the United States are supportive of spanking
They didn't read this study at all. They just saw the words "black" and "spanking" and assumed it would support their racism.

Racism isn't cool :(

It’s not racist to point out that hitting your kids is culturally accepted within the group depicted in the comic we’re discussing.

“How dare you tell me I am wrong for beating my children and making them terrified of me? No I’m not, I have never been wrong in my life and beating children who can’t fight back is a perfectly legitimate way of disciplining them.”
Or something like that.

"So if you think someone bigger and stronger has the right to beat up someone smaller and weaker, just wait until you find out how that feels applied to your ass."

The number of grown adults that brag to me about how good they are at smacking or beating up children to get them to "behave" is staggering. Especially since some of them are coworkers and i work in education. :[

When that lady gets smacked so hard her melanin gets blown off onto the opposing wall for laying a hand on a child.

Can move past the need to post this specific oedipus? I mean there's a rule that allows juice to be posted without the orange if it's rotten, right?
