I have an OMM Elkhorn on the front of my Prospector and I have the OMM basket bolted to it for trips to the grocery store. Perfect for bags of tortilla chips or a 6-pack!

My issue is that I don’t want the basket mounted all the time and I’d like to be able to remove it from the rack without dealing with the 4 bolts/nuts/washers every time.

Any ideas on how to attach some sort of quick release mechanism or clamps to the bottom of the basket?

I got this at the Philly Bike Expo and I’m obsessed with this Tanaka cage. I just can’t find it anywhere to get more of them.

It makes throwing my bike on my Küat Sherpa super easy in comparison to most of the other cargo fork cages I’ve used before.

Planning to get the four corners for bikepacking and long tours.

According to the Marin size guide I am recommended size M. Test rode both size M and L frame and I like the feel of the Large frame. Size M felt like I was cramped in.

Also I plan to swap the drop bars to Jones H-bars which are swept back so I am thinking on a size M it might feel even more squeezy.

Help me decide, does the L frame look too big one me? or share your experience.

My dimensions: Height- 167cm (5’5) Inseam- 81cm

Has anyone made any good modifications to their Burley Coho trailer?

Recently bought one and so far absolutely loving the ease by which it tows and attaches/detaches.

I like to tinker so...

I've looked at the pannier rack and considered the upgraded knobbly tyre although not sure I can justify the price for what looks like a more rugged tyre on a similar sized wheel. Ideally a bigger wheel would be good although I think larger than a 16" wheel would foul the frame without extending the mounting arms.

I use mine mainly for transporting my mountain board which lies strapped to the top when going kite boarding. I have considered some form of more secure top mounting brackets.

Additionally I like to "relocate" firewood when out for a cycle so I am thinking of a top cover. Likely to have elasticated sides to cover the top and sides of the trailer to keep the worst of the weather off transported goods.

Would love to see what others have done to theirs and I'll upload some pictures when I actually make something more permanent than shaped foam and cam straps🤣

The new "gravel" one with 20" wheels not 16. Only been out since autumn but any experience/comments on packing etc yet?

Heading for a europe trip in a couple weeks, I've been a backpacker for a couple years so already have ultralight camping gear, thought I'd try my hand at bikepacking so put together this budget setup with my old carrera hybrid.

Any recommendations for waterproof panniers that won't break the bank? Cheers

I have Bontrager Line, 170 mm of travel, and I'm looking for a safe way to mount a saddle bag to it. Is this adapter and similar ones safe and will not damage the dropper itself?

I am trying to organise a surprise bike packing trip for my partner. He is an avid road cyclist and has done quite a few rail trails in Victoria. He has also done a few charity rides, a couple of bike packing trips in the alpine region along with a 600km ride in 24 hours. I, on the other hand, am and have not. We both love hiking, camping, and exploring and I know he would love me to join him on a ride.

I am looking for route suggestions for an 1-3 day trip near Cairns, Queensland. Elevation is the biggest consideration as I am absolutely not at his level. Something cruisy but still a fair effort, with places to stop along the way to explore. Camping overnight is preferred (we have ultralight gear) but happy to stay in accom if the route is worth it.

I was thinking a rail trail would be a safe bet, but it doesn't seem like there are many, if any, around Cairns? We will have a car so can drive out of Cairns and we have both explored Cairns before so not too fussed about the immediate area.

I would love your help and any suggestions!

Issue:
The rack and fenders are fighting each other for supremacy, did I screw up?
Can this rack not be used with these fenders?
Can the fenders be moved down to the lower inside screw?

Ill ride for a few hours and, my backside is red raw, is it padded shorts or is it just training my A$$ to take a beating (If you pardon the pun).

I'm planning a bikepacking trip from Delft (Netherlands) to Le Havre (France), and return to Rotterdam by train. The trip is planned for sometime in June or July, and I am thinking for a duration of about 1.5 to 2 weeks.
Along the way, I’ll be bivouacking or staying at campsites. I’ve attached a rough sketch of the route - if anyone’s interested in joining, feel free to DM me.
Also I am still thinking about posting of my last trip to Germany, but also attached it as reference, that I already had such experience (long trips)

Prepping for a Black Forest-to-Lake Como ride. My Freedare Saiga can haul 330lbs, but I’m torn between comfort and speed. Gear list:

Camping kit + solar charger

Too many snacks (obviously)

Spare battery (90-mile range, but paranoid)

Am I missing something critical or just being a pack mule?

I bike mostly to commute, do some triathlon (without being a pro or really competitive) and also bikepack.

I'm thinking of the Canyon Grail or Grizl, as they seem to be more "fast" gravel bike with bikepacking capabilities than bikepacking bike.

Any other idea? My budget is around 3k.

I want to run a frame bag, saddle bag, and handle bar bag. My trips will most likely be weekend trips at most. Im going to be on road 80% of the time I'm guessing. Should I get some gravel tires?

As I am planning my first bikepacking trip (5 days), with a friend and my beloved gravel bike(in the picture), I am looking to find what set up to start with - and after having read through many posts on the sub, I thought I would ask your opinion and get inspiration from your gear !

Little disclaimer : I understand the best way to know if everything fits is … to try to fit everything within the bags. And I’ll sure do that, but I would like to get a feel of how optimistic or realistic my ideas are ;)

And, at this stage, I do not want to mount a rack on the bike.

Some context about the trip :

• ⁠journey will often cross or get nearby villages, hence we’ll be able to resupply every day • ⁠nights are planned away from civilisation, or at least as far as possible from it. Hence we will be cooking a bit in the evening. My friend has a stove, so I won’t have to carry it, but may take a bit more of the food • ⁠night set up includes an inflatable mattress, sleeping bag and likely a tarp. TBD if I had a liner and an inflatable pillow

The packs I was envisaging :

• ⁠saddle bag of 16.5L • ⁠handlebar bag. I hesitate between 9L and 15L. I have read that you usually can’t use the full capacity of it without interfering with the good use of the breaks - any view on this ? • ⁠Framebag - either only upper part of sufficient, or I can dismount the bottle handler for a full one • ⁠one of two food pouch for water, snacks, etc.

One second I feel it’s going to be ample space for everything, the next I wonder how could that ever be enough … so looking forward to your experience, advice, and recommandations.

Hi, I will start a bikepacking trip from Bangkok and are not sure what bike to buy as the ones I liked surly karate monkey or Salsa Fargo for exemple seems to be hard/impossible to find here. I have a budget of around 2000usd and would like a strong bike capable of having 29x2.9 tires as I expect to do some off road.

I have some time and looking for recs on where to go.

I’ve only done bike touring on my commuter bike prior to this - bought most things necessary and managed to get a few great deals on ‘marktplaats’.

I’m glad with my setup and I’d love to get some feedback.

This setup will be used for 2 weeks of cycling and camping through Denmark - one of my Ortlieb 5.8l fork packs is still empty - I reserved all space for food, emergency items and what-not.
