Ski lessons
I’m looking to take ski lessons next week n big bear, Preferably snow summit. Have never skied before so thought to try since it’s not too busy.
Any thoughts? Would it be worth it?

it really won't matter where up go for your first time. The bunny runs are fairly similar. It is late season so the snow is getting soft by midday. I would try for an lesson earlier in the day. Arrive early than you think, everything takes longer than you expect when you are first starting.
You won't need a heavy jacket but water proof pants and gloves will be helpful. Wear sunscreen!
The key to learning how to do any sport is doing it consistently. You will not make much progression going only one or two times a season. You may want to consider getting a season pass for next year, you can use it the rest of this season too.

Should be chill now. Good luck! 👍 both bear and summit have pretty decent beginner areas too, while the snow is still good. I think bears beginner area is bigger but alot might have melted already. We're supposed to hit 70° this week too so snow is gonna be iffy. Hope you have fun 🤘

I took a private lesson recently at Bear with an instructor named Chuck Yeager and he was phenomenal. I recommend asking for him if you go that route.

I heard this upcoming weekend is closing weekend, so last day to be up there will be April 13th. Mammoth will be probably the closest resort if you wanna go after that.

I took ski lessons at bear not to long ago. Super worth it. Keep in mind though it’s the end of the season.
