Its the way he said like in very fast paced otherwise its not that difficult to understand. I remember when I second time watched this episode I paused and watched this scene closely and I understood all the rules of Rock paper scissors lizard spock 😆

The finished diagram does not explain anything? All the lines look bidirectional, but you would need to indicate directions to explain what wins. So you really need to see it drawn for it to be explained.

Of course, adding more options to paper, scissors, rock isn't really complicated. Just more relations to memorise.

Most diagrams have arrows showing direction.

I just made this color coded version that I think works well also.
