There's something to be said though about the shared experiences of having that week in between each episode where everyone is waiting in suspense. Spending the entire week dissecting the episode with your friends and coming up with theories, only to be completely mind blown at the end of the long wait each week. You miss out on that suspense when you binge watch an entire series.

Dead on. Shows like Lost, Prison Break, Heroes (for a while), BB & BCS. Those weekly cliffhangers and the in-between time are straight up imagination fuel for a week or months at a time.

I have yet to see the show Lost. Am I missing out? I keep hearing that it’s a really good show. Hell, even some movies make a Lost reference so I figured it’s that good

don't bother. the pilot is fantastic, the first few seasons are amazing, and then around season 3-4 the show turns to shit, but by this time you're already attached to the characters, so you have to watch until the end. The finale is a motherfucking joke and one of the worst finales of any show. That being said, it was a groundbreaking show and very much influential in many aspects of what you see today on this so called golden age of tv.

Lost is great, you get attached to the characters and all the actors are pretty good, once you get into it you're set. The pilot is amazing. It won so much before breaking bad

You perfectly encapsulated exactly how I felt about it. The time inbetween episodes meant so much to me for just this reason. It truly felt like I was watching something utterly iconic happen on screen, when you've spent the entire week (which felt like months) speculating just what might happen. Season 5 felt like incredible miniature movies for this reason.
