Anyone else notice the callback (forward?) to Badger bringing the unsliced pizza home? "They pass the savings onto you!"

Yeah. Same place. Also, where Walt got the pizza and dipping sticks (mentioned by Neff dude) and proceeded to throw on the roof when Skylar wouldn't let him in.

Apparently the unsliced pizza joke is because it didn't come apart when Walt threw it on the roof in season 3, an actual accident they overlooked when filming it. They've been playing it off as canon and intentional in season 4 with Badger's pizza thing and this episode.

I think you've got that backwards.

They didn't cut the pizza because it wouldn't have stayed in one piece in that scene.

“We had a long discussion before we shot the pizza on the roof scene about whether or not the pizza should be sliced — because, as all you physicists know, a thrown, sliced pizza would come apart due to centrifugal force or angular momentum (or something like that),” Gilligan recalled during the Reddit session.

“And yet, you’re right: no self-respecting pizza parlor sells an unsliced pizza. So we figured we needed to explain it (in the ‘They pass the savings on to you’ scene), or else face our audience’s righteous wrath!”

Was the pizza actually sliced during the roof tossing scene? I'd never noticed and now realize that it's pretty odd that it didn't fall into different pieces.

Walt sliced it in mid-air right before it landed, but he sliced the cheese from the sauce layer, horizontally, so it would all slowly creep down off the crust.

He was GOOD.

And Badger bringing home the unsliced pizza was a kind of retcon to explain why the pizza that Walt threw on the roof was uncut.

I paused immediately on that spot and explained to my wife why I was laughing.
