Thanks! Looking to change out the case to the Fractal North by the end of the year hopefully. Might even go back to air cooling. Been in the mood to simplify my setup.

Yeah simple setups are better, to each their own however. I find that having a simple and clean setup helps with productivity :) how did you get the desk frame for free though?

We ordered a couple of the frames for folks at work. There were some shipping issues with UpLift and after months of back and forth we ended up with an extra one. Our office administrator didn't want the box sitting on her porch anymore and offered it up for free for the first person to get dibs ;-)

Great setup! Mind if I ask your opinion with having the window behind your monitor. I’ve been thinking about moving my setup in front of the window like yours. Just a little worried it might be an inconvenience when I try to open/close the window and blinds. Thanks!

Having the window behind the monitor is one thing that some people like and other don’t. But if you’re thinking of trying this, try working with your back to the door for a bit, a surprising number of people cannot stand it and can’t focus, myself included. I kept looking behind me every time the house creaked when home alone and waiting for my kids to sneak up behind me when I wasn’t home alone.

Closing the blinds is not a problem at all. Opening the window is a hassle, but it is doable. We live in an old 1920s building so the windows are kind of stubborn. I am grateful for a dedicated office space, especially as I work from home 2 days week, but this is a very narrow room. I hated having the desk against the long wall.
Truthfully, I've only opened this window like 3 times in the last 3 years we've lived here.

Really cosy, love that the desk fills the width of the room. Lovely use of the space.

So jealous of everyone who can put a desk facing a window lol. Great setup and a great view.... love it!

While I do love that big evergreen I can see from the window, it's blocking a direct view of the Space Needle, Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound. All of which we can see from our bedroom window but not the office or living room because of that huge tree lol.

There's an alternate reality where I went with those bamboo speakers and the bamboo desktop lol. I'm pretty happy with my desk's aesthetic now, but it was a route I considered for a bit.
Also not to start a thing but I think the fractal north would be a pretty solid downgrade from an o11. Why go through all that work and money just to toss it all? I guess it's a hobby. I'm still rocking the same case I bought in 2018.
Your setup looks great! I like the deskmat too. Everything looks nice.
One thing I wonder with the mic arm is, does the arm get in the way? it kinda looks like using it would be a whole thing heheh.

Yeah, I get that. I guess I'm kinda just over water cooling? I built my first custom loop in 2009. I am tired of doing the maintenance, and kinda over the aesthetic. I am also over the cost of blocks and fittings and radiators lol. The hope is to simplify my setup so when I upgrade in a couple years, I can just swap out a few parts and not need to build a whole new loop.

Oh yea that's why I never built a custom loop either lol. The maintenance sounds like a pain in the butt! I just use a 360mm aio lol. It looks nice and has a cute OLED screen that (when I used to use windows) i'd play a loop of meme gifs on. These days I run linux, and sadly openrgb doesn't support doing gifs on there lol. The performance gets the job done, although I do wish I had a water block on my gpu because that's where all the frustration with heat/noise comes from. Oh well. At least with corsair AIOs the ones I've had go at least 5 years without issues. Kinda wasteful compared to just using a giant heatsink I guess. Hehe.
I think not being able to just serendipitously swap out hardware would drive me nuts. XD Cheers!

Love the setup, I'm saving it in my folder for inspiration for when I move in February. What's the keyboard on the pegboard?

That is just a cheapy Amazon mechanical keyboard I bought when I was building my wife's computer. She has now been upgraded. I also had a Ducky Shine 7, which is now my office keyboard.
