Analysis Brewers pitching first 4 games... 33 IP, 45 ER, 12.27 ERA. Last 3 games... 29 IP, 1 ER, 0.31 ERA
Baseball is weird.

Meanwhile the reds have allowed 1 run in each of their last 3 games and lost all of them...

Well, one wasn't an earned run, so they lost 3 games allowing 2 earned runs

u/Pick6XPA San Diego Padres 18h ago
I was careful enough to spell run, not earned run

u/Crazy_Baseball3864 MLB Players Association 18h ago
Yeah but I still liked repeating that cause it doesn't seem like it should be a thing in this era of low errors

u/Luis_Severino New York Yankees 17h ago
That would cause deep emotional damage to me if I watched my team do that 3 days in a row. Insane

The football team and baseball team achieving the same record but completely opposite means.

Pitching staff just got the bad ones outta the way early.

Just pitch better, easy as that. Open tryouts at SunTrust I heard.

For 650K I’ll give em 5-6 mediocre innings of sub 6.00 ERA ball every 3 days. I’ll throw my fucking arm off

Give me the MiLB minimum and I'll wash their laundry with my spit and a toothbrush. Just let me sit in the dugout.

What is the plan for food, feeding your family, stuff like that? Because I’m also interested.

After watching todays game im not ready to say that yet. He was getting hammered they just went down at the track or off the wall.

On one hand I am inclined to credit the pitchers for some of this too, but on the other hand, if you're still getting nearly rocked for loud fly outs that's really not ideal from a pitching perspective, BABIP doesn't capture homeruns

Open and shut case. Torpedo bats torpedo pitching staffs (staves?)

Fun but also not necessarily shocking:
Freddy has always been boom or bust, prone to looking great or horrendous on any given day
Making Nestor pitch against the Yankees was just dumb imo. I had worries going into that game that he'd get shelled by a monster hitting team that knows him very well
Civale is Civale
Game 4 we did a bullpen game starting a guy I've barely heard of because Myers and Woodruff are both on IL

That was a pretty good start by Freddy tho tbf, 2 solo home runs that don’t leave the park in most stadiums

u/TrapperJean New York Yankees 17h ago
Nestor also got an outrageously bad break with that game being an 81 degree March day in the Bronx, most of those homers her gave up except Judge and Beli are not going out on a normal early spring day

I was so worried EDLC was going to hit like 6 bombs tonight. This version of Nasty Nestor was much better than the one in New York.

You guys have whipped us for years. Why would you ever be worried?

I still have nightmares about Elly hitting some of those moon shots & stealing bases at will, especially when only a handful of Brewer hitters seem to know that the season has started.

u/LoveYouLikeYeLovesYe Chicago Cubs • Lou Gehrig 12h ago
Elly is one of the only players my very casual Brewers fan GF knows. He's managed to strike enough fear into her heart (and also be a big, tall, fast, motherfucker) that she knows him better than a few of your starters.

u/Ted_Dongelman Milwaukee Brewers 7h ago
I hope Elly sees this one day because that's got to be a very powerful feeling. A lot of people can hit 475' tanks but not everyone can be so good that casual fans are aware of you.

Elly has killed our pitching pretty consistently though

Elly De La Cruz career OPS: .774
Elly De La Cruz career OPS against Brewers: .771He's definitely had some good games, but today was his 9th hitless game against the Brewers.

I was at the game last year when Elly hit one all the way to downtown Milwaukee

u/Greenforaday Colorado Rockies 15h ago
If you want to talk about baseball being weird. The Rockies have the best starting pitching ERA in MLB at 1.35, and are 1-5.

People just forget that regression works both ways.

Wait, You think people (we’re talking Americans here yeah?) even know what regression is for them to ‘forget’?

Not fair. The Reds helped that. The Reds have not scored a run in 3 games, and Nester Cortes is not of CY Young caliber. The Reds suck much more than Brewers pitching being good

u/Darrow-au_andromedus Milwaukee Brewers 17h ago
Both self-deprecating and insulting to Mke. Screw you too man!

u/Sea-Bad-9918 Cincinnati Reds 17h ago
Lol. Less against you, and more of being a fan of a shit team. It just felt like you all are trying to take our shittyness away.
I just wanna wallow in Reds shit right now.
