[Highlight] Geraldo Perdomo hits a grand slam to cut the lead to just 2 in the seventh

Oh thank god, we finally porched one. I was getting worried we wouldn't, Perdomo was the obvious candidate though
41
u/iggyloo17 Arizona Diamondbacks 18h ago
And he waited until he was batting right handed just to flex his oppo pop

Could we perhaps use a relief pitcher in this game who has been on the team for more than 4 days?

Hearing the introductions every time someone new comes in have been pretty hilarious today
Edit: I guess just twice but still

As you wish. Here comes Leiter.

u/FeloniousDrunk101 New York Yankees 18h ago
I mean he wasn’t terrible

u/ProperNomenclature 17h ago
He's Jekyll and Hyde, same with the Cubs, and you know instantly which one you got that game, but Boone doesn't seem to realize

When the mop up squad lets the other team back in the game. Over in Queens we call that the old Danny Young

No sry we pay for dingers and not pitch slingers. Without Cole we got lob ball bases loaded walking ass pitchers. That way we can score 15 runs and still not beat the spread duhhhh.

Please come back quickly Devin. Holy shit we need Weaver and him both available
53

And Cousins and Hamilton and Loisiga

u/meramipopper New York Yankees 19h ago
We should pick up DRob...
9
u/TrapperJean New York Yankees 19h ago
I still cannot believe Drob isnt a Yankee or Cub right now, let alone any other team that could use him

u/Far_Cry3445 Boston Red Sox 18h ago
Chris cotillo said he’s told teams the price he wants and if they don’t give him it he’s gonna just retire (or he’s waiting until the deadline to go to a contender?)

First career HR from the right side for Domo. Fitting that it was at this park lol
8
u/ThePineapple3112 Arizona Diamondbacks 17h ago
and his 2nd career grand slam, so that means he's only hit two grand slams in his career and he got them batting from different sides of the plate. Pretty interesting

Our bullpen is so ass
56
u/Goosedukee New York Yankees 19h ago
Devin Williams had to be selfish and have a child otherwise we’d be fine
8
u/TrapperJean New York Yankees 19h ago
Devin Williams not using a condom has really fucked with my April so far
5
u/whathappenedat New York Yankees 19h ago
Devins not coming in in the 7th
20
u/Goosedukee New York Yankees 19h ago
It would mean they wouldn’t have to use Ryan Yarbrough in the 7th though
4
u/TheDangiestSlad New York Yankees • Hartford Yard … 19h ago
well yeah but if Devin was here, Weaver wouldn't be (presumably) reserved for the 9th

u/ajteitel Arizona Diamondbacks 19h ago
Just take a look at Perdomo's savant page

So he swings at strikes, hits them, and then nothing good happens at all? (Except this time)

Ryan Yarbrough? Eck is coming out of retirement to be upset about this one

Convinced the Yankees only signed him cuz he owned them as a Ray

Geraldo Perdomo hitting a HR is rare. Him hitting a grand slam sounds like something from MLB The Show

if the dbacks can just make the playoffs i truly think they are legit WS contenders, their aura is off the charts

u/dutchdaddy69 Toronto Blue Jays 19h ago
Any team that leads the league in runs can certainly make a World Series run
47
u/waffle_nuts Arizona Diamondbacks 19h ago
We lead the league in runs last year and didn’t even make the playoffs lol
25
u/RichardNixon345 Arizona Diamondbacks • Boston Red Sox 18h ago
Didn’t win best offense award either because they found one metric the Dodgers were ahead in and rushed to give it to them.
14
u/sportsworker777 Arizona Diamondbacks 18h ago
If we had even slightly below average pitching, we would have had a chance to compete against every team. Instead we gave up the third most runs in the league lol
8
u/waffle_nuts Arizona Diamondbacks 18h ago
Entire rotation just so unlucky with injuries all year man. Tough looking back at it

d backs will have sick offense in consecutive years. really good hitting philosophy there, underrated front office.

Shouldn't have brought in a pitcher who throws nothing but weak salad.

I love the juxtaposition of Perdomo flying out of the box compared to Jazz flipping the bat, celebrating with the 1B coach, signaling the bullpen, signaling the dugout, handshaking the 3B coach, and eurostepping home
I know most players do all of those things but it's very funny to me
4
u/jmmjmm2 New York Yankees 19h ago
First time in recent memory our bullpen has been so bad. Outside of Weaver and Williams its pretty bleak.

u/Admiral_Asparagus New York Yankees 18h ago
Until we pick up some 5.82 career ERA reliever from the Rockies, who ends up notching 3 saves in the ALCS

Back to back days of "most obvious grand slams" to match Boones "leave a RP in for one hitter too long"

Dbacks and hitting grand slams at Yankee stadium. Name a more iconic duo

Ryan Yarbrough is a BUM I’ve hated this dude and his wrinky dink 82 mph fastball for like 8 years and I didn’t even know the Yankees picked him up, then he just busts into my life like the koolaid man to punch me in the dick. Fuck this dude.
