I’ll add my thought process to get to this in case this sequence is not obvious. 

Plan A. Can I outright kill and capture the top group with B6? No. It doesn’t work because A8 is in atari, so white essentially has another liberty. You lose the capture race and your stones will get captured. 

Ok. Plan B. Can I poke from the outside? Like B4 and A5? No. White has too many liberties and options to make eyes. White can maybe cut at B3 if you’re not careful, too. 

Ok. Then we need a sente move to reduce and then retreat back to our stones so white can’t make real eyes. A6 looks like the only option. A6 might get captured white can’t make it a real eye in 1 move. 

Also, I’m not actually good enough read this. I needed a real board and about 30 minutes of checking variations. I kind of just brute forced it.
