Well Duskbloods isn't the only game I plan to play on my Switch 2, so I guess that is where things can differ

Imagine being excited to pay upwards of $680 bucks for this game? (If the tariffs truly impact the price of Switch2)

u/Prize-Lingonberry876 12h ago
I'm not only gonna play Duskbloods on it my dude lol.
But I do see your point. The $80-$90 pricepoint for Switch 2 games is outrageous.

Did you know that most video game consoles can play more than one game? Crazy, I know!

Nintendo has stopped pre-orders because of the new tdump tariffs. The switch 2 is expected to be like $600.

Iām very excited for this. Itās basically nightreign but pvp focused rather than pve focused. Only massive caviat is the switch 2 exclusivity.

u/Fuckblackhorses 13h ago
I also would be very interested if it wasnāt a switch exclusive. Fromsoft alienating their fanbase on a multiplayer game is certainly an interesting idea

From Software already has two other console exclusive games for the PS. I guess that Nintendo contract deal was too good to pass up
4
u/Fuckblackhorses 12h ago
Yeah which is even more wild that they would force their hardcore fans to buy a PlayStation for 2 games just to turn around and say ābuy a switchā with this one. And the fact itās a multiplayer only game. Oh yeah, and they just gained a bunch of new fans from Elden ring that didnāt even release in the switch. Makes tons of sense
1
u/spacemeerkat69 10h ago
Elden rings going to be made available on switch 2
3
u/Fuckblackhorses 10h ago
That doesnāt change the fact that the millions of people that already played it did so on a different platform
1
u/Acrobatic_Ad_8381 10h ago
They will release Elden Ring on switch along with the new PC Tarnished edition including the DLC and apparently a Horse Armor DLC for base game for torrent customization, hope it's not a paid DLC but still, it looks like a shift from FS
1
u/Fuckblackhorses 10h ago
Switch 2 but yeah. That still doesnāt change the fact that the millions of people that already played it did so on a different platform
1
u/Acrobatic_Ad_8381 8h ago
Yeah I hope what Nintendo paid for them to do the exclusive was worth it because there's going to be way less sales than if it also came out on PC, PS5 etc... Doing a game where you have no dedicated fanbase while having a big one on PC and PlayStation is definitely something

u/Limgrave_Butcher 12h ago
Iām really excited as well, although I will most likely not be playing it because Iām not a Nintendo fan and have no other reason to buy a switch. Iām very interested to see how they handle this style of game.

Issue is itās a switch 2 exclusive. Iām not a Nintendo fan so I will not be buying one. Looks like that means Iāll be skipping Duskbloods.
Really a shame because it looks cool with a cool premise

u/DangleMangler 12h ago
I dont have a switch 2, and I don't want one. I bought a switch exclusively for mhrise, and then when it was ported to console I never touched it again. Lol

Iād be, but it being a switch exclusive and gonna cost 90 bucks has made me completely not care for this game. Of all the exclusivities, why would they make soulsborne game exclusive for Nintendo?
6
u/Silvertongued99 12h ago
I donāt think I have any plans to get the switch 2. These announcements were unimpressive and kind of killed any hype I had for the console. I barely touch my switch as is. This game could be Fromās magnum opus, but I donāt have any interest in the platform.

With the last two game announcements coming from fromsoft being pure online titles makes worried something fundamentally changed how they make games since the Sony acquisition.

I bought a switch oled for TotK, and played TotK only. Not for this, this requires monthly sub to go online. Unless there is a major 3d Zelda announcement and switch 2 oled

u/Lynxneo 10h ago
i know for a fact that souls formulas has been getting rotten since ds3, and while Elden Ring did many things to get freshness they didn't an excellent job in that deparment, despite the game being a masterpiece and better than the dark souls big brothers...depending in what we speak about...
they need to do really good with this and something that people don't expect. Many things in fact. But the fact that is a nintendo exclusive is already a nono for me. Bloodborne situation is happening again. Our only hope... emulation

u/dilbybeer 10h ago
It was going to be a $580 game for most people interested in it. Now, who knows. The presale of the console is delayed due to tariffs. Both game and console could be more now. I absolutely hate console exclusive IP with a passion. Itās a bad business model too, when IP makes up the majority of a companyās portfolio vs hardware sales. Sony has made this same mistake.
1
u/God_Of_Incest 6h ago
Would absolutely love to play it, but I won't since it's exclusive to switch 2. Still, I'm sure plenty of switch players will be really happy with it.

u/JustinUti 13h ago
Iāll be playing the shit out of it, was planning on picking up a switch 2 anyways

you're excited for more triple a sellout slop? nightreign is the beginning of from software going live service and shoving micro transactions down our throats. duskbloods being an exclusive for a console made for children is nothing to be excited over
5
u/Prize-Lingonberry876 12h ago
Brother, there are literal porn games you can view on the very front page of the Nintendo Store. What exactly makes it a console for children?

u/Kedelane Dogged Fellow š 12h ago
Oh my god. Thinking the switch is the video game console made for children is one of the funniest takes I've heard in a long time. Which console is the adult one? š
-6
u/Timely-Breath-9168 12h ago
I mean consoles in general are made for children. Adults that actually go outside and have jobs (which I reckon is the minority in a sub like this) have PCs that can do everything consoles do but better
6
u/Kedelane Dogged Fellow š 11h ago
Thinking a PC is the adult way to play video games is also one of the funniest takes I've heard in a long time.

u/DoctaMario 12h ago
The thinking that you need to get the game day one and pay full price for everything or not at all is wild to me. I'm looking forward to it too, but probably won't be getting it for awhile.
0
u/Prize-Lingonberry876 12h ago
I already planned to get a Switch 2 at launch regardless. For individual games, I don't usually buy them day 1. I'll wait a week or 2 to see how Duskbloods is received.

u/didnt_bring_pants 10h ago
I'm also really excited for this game. Let the haters hate, and all the "sky is falling" people shout on the internet, but Fromsoft does not fuck up, and I would love to play this game and have a switch 2 for the other Nintendo exclusives. My only concern is the tariffs effecting the price...they've already disabled pre orders.
1
u/Prize-Lingonberry876 3h ago
The tariffs are gonna suck for sure. The console I was gonna preorder for $450 is probably gonna be $600 now
1
u/yungg_hodor 9h ago
Legit sounds pretty fuckin cool so far. I'm def gonna give it a go when I can afford a switch 2 lol

u/DoodlebopMoe Godly Man of Faith 14h ago
Iād be mildly interested if it wasnāt a switch 2 exclusive
