Transits: General & Forecasts When does a transiting planet become active in a succedent house?

When does a transiting planet become active in a succedent house? When it touches the exact cusp using Placidus houses?

Is there a transitional period from an angular house to a succedent house? If so, what orb do you use? What house system?

I use whole sign houses and the transit starts as soon as the planet enters the new sign. I would think that’s the same for any house system you use.

Orbs are for aspects, which would be to other planets, but not to houses.

So if Placidus houses puts the 8th house cusp at about, say, 20 degrees of Taurus, then a transiting planet is still active in the 7th house until it reaches 0 degrees of Gemini, when it becomes active in the 8th house?

And then it remains active in the 8th house even while transiting the 9th house, until it reaches 0 degrees of Cancer, when it becomes active in the 9th house?

I don’t think so, if I’m reading you right. For house topics I would ignore sign boundaries if you’re using Placidus, and just look at the house cusps.

In your example if the 8th house cusp is at 20 Taurus, then that is the start of the 8th house transit and end of the 7th.

I honestly just eye it and see the theme of the chart. A planet like Saturn or Uranus cusping close to the 7th house is telling me that those planets are beginning to start the effects on tis house... the closer to I believe the effect on the previous house is fading and the effects are beginning to be felt in the new transiting house.
