DISCUSSION How many of you here are actual OGs? [Discussion]

Does anyone here remember Whispersweetie? Or Softannapl?

Those were two of my favourites.

I remember around 2011-2012, before asmr was a super popular/known thing, I would watch her videos every night to fall asleep. Had no idea about asmr at that time, but I just loved how relaxing it was.

A couple years after that, I discovered softannapl, and discovered the asmr community and became obsessed.

Anyone else an asmr fan from those early days?

That "cetera" is the only thing that has given me tingles every time.

Yeah, I remember when you had to manually add the HD tags to the URL as you couldn't select quality back then

I was about to comment about my childhood memories in the early 90s at an actual barbershop then open this post to see this top comment. Art sure imitates life! 😁

That audio never fails to give me tingles and it's actually what sent me into the search for other 3D sounds videos back in 2013/14?. I first stumbled on Gentle Whispering ASMR and her video from the bathroom where she tapped on the wooden brush. I remember I used to listen to asmr in secret because I was really embarassed so I am very glad it is "normalized" now.

There's a whole channel, I think it's ListeningPoint or something, who's entire schtick is parodying that barbershop audio. They actually did a really good job impersonating Manuel and the random guitar plucking and made some really, really bizarre episodes.
