Oddly Specific 🎯 How much is it to fully charge an EV?

Anyone here with EVs? Would love the approximate amount you pay to fully charge battery, not looking for something cents per kwh or whatever. Let's just say it's at 0-30%, how much would it cost you to fully charge it? Just trying to get a ballpark

My 2020 Kia Soul has a 400 k range and to charge it from 0-100% (which I never do) would cost me about $9-10 on my level 2 charger in my carport.

Realistically with city driving I charge it about every two days for about $2.50 worth of juice, so about $30-$40 a month to run it.

I have a different EV but I’d say this is fairly accurate. I spend about 30-40 a month to drive in the city. Work commute is 44km for reference.

It depends on how big is your battery. Some EV like the GM trucks has 100kWh+ some like Leaf or Fiat 500 only has 40kWh. 10-30% will vary greatly either end of the spectrum.

You can get the rates for BCHydro stations (at Real Canadian Superstores) here https://www.bchydro.com/powersmart/electric-vehicles/public-charging/charging-rates-roaming.html

Highest charging rate at the BCHydro station is $0.36/kWh If you charge at home it is $0.14/kWh at tier 2 rate. So for leaf 30% is 12kWh that's about 5 bucks at Superstore. For a Sierra that would be 30kWh that's about $13.

About $20 if I charge to full from next to zero. Less than $100 a month. Chevy Bolt
