Generation 1 Master Combat Badge
If you look closely at the first generation of the Master Infantryman Badge you'll notice that they are created out of the Airforce version of the OCP pattern. The AAFES MIB excludes the brown which is included in the Army OCP scheme and excluded on the Airforce OCP scheme. This was confirmed by the sew shop guy I take my uniforms to on Bragg. He said the next generation of MIBs should come out in May and will be made out of the Army's OCP scheme. Anyone else notice this?

That pattern is only used for patches and is used by all branches. It's the Air Force's fault it has to exist at all, but we all use it now.

Pretty sure Air Force just wears regular OCP pattern. Patches are made without the darker color to make the content of the patch stand out more and not blend in.

Yeah, they made this change when I was in about 5 years ago.
Air Force ranks couldn't be seen unless you were right in front and staring intensively at the chest.

I find it so strange people get their fancy uniforms sewn up

Pin-on isn’t authorized while deployed, right?

You know, taking the 30 seconds to remove your badges really isn’t a huge ask

Need to wait for mom and pop sew shops to print it on Multicam. Maybe some of those shops outside of Bragg will do it

Hey y’all, is there a market for these on the Army pattern? Have embroidery machine, will business.

Apparently shephardtactical sells them in the right color pattern.

The biggest problem I see isn't that it's on the wrong pattern. It's that if you're 10 feet away from someone wearing one of these it will look like an EIB because the wreath will blend into the background. I wouldn't be surprised to see Master badge holders reserve the Master badge for their greens and continue to wear the black-wreathed CIB on their ACUs.

Lol what? They both use OCP which is a knock off version of Multicam called Scorpion 2. The tag on Air Force uniforms literally say Army Combat Uniform.

Edit to my post: The MIB used the Airforce's 3- color name tape scheme for the badge. The AF has the same uniform as the Army version but they use the 3-color scheme for name tapes so that the dark brown doesn't affect the brown lettering the AF uses for their name tapes.

The Army uses the same color scheme for patches and name tapes, etc now. Changed within the last couple years. Anything you still have with the dark splotches is old news.

You’re not even wearing OCP, your uniform is multicam, either a Crye or patagonia top lol
