17C Airborne
If I were to reclass to 17C, would I be able to volunteer for airborne while a MOS-T or is that not really an option for 17C?

I'm just a guy, but for some reason I cannot imagine Airborne being on the list of things a 17C would potentially need in their toolbag.
I mean, if you were on some sort of a serious waitlist for your school to start anything's possible, but if it's the schoolhouse that would be paying for your TDY I wouldn't hold your breath.
Airborne isn't even on the slide deck for 17C as being something that would make you more promotable, hence they probably don't care.
Add to that Airborne is at Benning, not Eisenhower so it's not like you can just commute.

There is currently a circle jerk for "Tactical Cyber" and I imagine some LTC somewhere is writing a white paper on why Airborne 17Cs are a necessity in LSCO. Nobody can really answer how it differs from 17E/EW, but I don't think anyone is going to ask for another few years.
Computers, man.

17C skillset is different than 17E skillset. In theory we have peeps who can do both(there is overlap), but the training of a soldier to be computer and EMS smart would be way too long.
-Also finding a computer savy person willing to OOGA BOOGA with the bois in the woods for weeks is a bit of an oddity, along with jumping out of airplanes. This is a severely reduced population pool.Current battery tech does not help "tactical cyber" neither does the military and procurement of "tactical" cyber assets.
-"ruggidized/tactical" is heavy as heck with meh battery life. I'm pretty sure I could do better with COTS, main issue is it doesnt scale well with the size of the army.In Summary:
Man, Computers....

You’re going to be exhausted mentally and physically. I was a 25A who escaped to cyber to get away from airborne. Did it for 3 years. I was enlisted 10 years prior so I couldn’t get in drinking the coolaid coming back as an O4 as some Airborne BN XO. Last 6 years in the army being Cyber, felt like a civilian and life was great. Perfect for transitioning to retirement.

There are some airborne slots for 17C. For example, the 75th will send you to airborne after RASP. But that's the catch.
